They both didn't fight their best. Magney missed weight, maybe purposefully to give him a better chance to perform fresh, it still didn't work. Magney has great boxing and counters at all times. This was still a great win for shavkat.

Geoff Neal did extremely well. Super proud of him. I'm sure he earned a lot of respect from people who didn't respect him before. Hats off to Shavkat. His first true test and he passed it. Still think he needs 1-2 more fights before a title shot.
There’s a good chance that he missed weight on purpose to have size advantage over Shavkat but it backfired. He’s a terrific fighter regardless.

Fantastic finish. Now 17-0, 9 submissions, 8 knockouts.
BUT while he has good power and honestly showed variety in striking. His head movement and defensive awareness needs a lot of work. Dudes got heart and a chin but that defense just isn’t very good.
Edit: I’m a huge fan of Shavkat but staying objective is key in this sport.
I really do hope him and his team address and correct these issues before he climbs further on the ladder.

Legit that’s his only glaring issue and weakness. He’s composed and methodical. His striking is good and he’s got power. We know he’s got good sweeps/trips, heavy top control, deadly ground and pound, and nasty submissions. His only real weakness is head movement and defense.

The fight was the greatest one on the card I think. So intense, Neals takedown defence was amazing as well and the choke at the end was just so cold.

Geoff Neil intentionally cheated make 175 to have 4 pounds advantage for him especially in taking him down. Geoff never missed wight all his previous fights. 4 pounds is huge. As a Rakhmonov fan i wanna say nomad has to improve a lot specially on his gas tank and takedown accuracy than he will be unstoppable
Honestly, Neal is one of the best anti-wrestlers in that division and he missed weight by 4 lbs, so can't really blame Shavkat for not taking him down.
his gas tank seemed fine to me, had a composed look the entire fight and kept the pace. he just needs to move his head off the center line. luckily he doesn't take punches and kicks as flush though.
