I was worried no one caught the big red ball and wish I took pics. but now I dont care again since he caught the "prominence". It was odd to get a symmetrical "ruby" with the diamond ring. If youre a believer then youre like yup, end times. I was chill with a simple oroboros but then they threw the eyes of Mot eating the earth and I said yo thats bussin. On god. FR FR.

Both getting some good use, so thank you again!

"Horrifying" is a word that many people won't quite understand unless they are in the area of totality. I've seen 2 total eclipses now, and both times I felt uneasy seconds before it happened, and pure awe as it happens. BEAUTIFUL image you captured at the end there!

Yeah, there is something very eerie about how its suddenly getting much darker, colder, and quieter. But then you look up and it's just pure awe. It gave me a different type of emotion that I can't quite describe... and when it was over, I was almost depressed at the fact that I will never get to witness it again.

That last image of the formation of the ring from left to right would absolutely make a phenomenal poster. I'd totally buy one! I took my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter to watch the totality. I regret not being able to afford even a decent camera and only had my cell phone to work with. At least she got to witness one, and if I'm still alive in 2045, we'll be witnessing that one together as well. About that photo becoming a poster ... I'm quite serious about wanting one.

It must have been a profound experience. I'm always living in an area where I am totally unable to see Totality. (Waikiki, Oahu)
I too , say that you deserve best NASA photo Award. I do not speak for the commenter above, but for myself. I ask, may you look objectively at Nasa photos of Earth, Moon and universe as a whole and understand, as NASA has admitted, that all of their photos are CGI.
In that regard, your photos are better than NASA photos.
I say that from the Love Within Me.
Now there are 2 parts of your work that was quite stellar!
Your Composite of the Shadow Moon, may you sharpen the details and maybe post them?
Also, Idk if you noticed, the video from the GOESS, you showed the Moon Shadow and Sun Light.
Thing is,...the Moon, Sun and Planets all travel along the ecliptic...so what was that bright as 'shine' that traveled with the day as the Night/Day Terminator moved across the Earth?
That light was moving East to West as the Shadow moved SouthWest to NorthEast.
Is that correct for the Moon occulting the Sun?

Terrific results my friend. Unfortunately too many people brush off totality and it’s so much more than you expected. I was not going to take any photos and just bask in the experience but when I realized I could see the pink glowing prominences I grabbed my camera with a 500mm and was rewarded with a beautiful image after bracketing down 4.5 EV. ✌️

This is amazing. I share your excitement! As excited (and anxious about the cloud cover) as I was, I was not in the least prepared for the experience. As the moon snuffed out the sun, I sobbed inconsolably for the entire two minutes of totality and all the way home. Nothing like I had ever experienced before! You have inspired me to learn how to photograph the next one! Thank you for sharing your work!

Thanks for sharing the amazing results of all the work you did and STRESS you were willing to endure. I didn't let myself get too focused on it before this because I would have obsessed like you and it is painful. So thank you for real effort

      Right ?
I was at about 95%. It dawned on me how bright the sun really is.
At only 5% sunshine, it was very bright. Sure I've been under an eclipse before, but it never really struck me that way before.
Imagine any other, even a very strong light, with 95% of it covered. It's going to be pretty dim.
      It is amazing . . . ✌️😎

I too, vote for your last composite photo as "best ever". Thank you very much for putting this together. I drove 22 hrs to Carbondale from AZ. The Greatest Show on Earth did not disappoint. We had the same sky as you, mid-level cloud bands moving by just as the eclipse started. By totality they were gone, perfect. I am so glad I had binoculars this time (I saw 2017 in WY, no binos). I could make out all the secret reveals with my naked eye except the hydrogen shot, which was also very cool. The next one is Iceland or Spain. I would be happy to meet up on location Aug 2026 and help with logistics and whatever for even better photos. I think I am now a "totality chaser," ther should be at least a few more before I am dead :). Thanks again.

My car couldn't make the trip, but at home we had 99.6% totality. Still an awesome, eerie and moving celestial event.
I noticed more things this time, viewing from downtown. All the shadows become extremely sharp. The warm, almost too-warm day suddenly chilled and the wind sprung up - as the eclipse waned, suddenly it felt hot again, the wind died, the shadows blurred.
There's definitely a primal feeling during eclipses, kind of like an emotional hum. Or the vibration of Tibetan throat-singing.

The thrill you get as you see the day turn to night when the shadow rushes in. I have a few pictures from cell phone through a welder mask but i really appreciate this video's awesome views.

I live in NC and watched from Texas. I planned that trip for 7 years. After traveling to SC for the solar eclipse in August of 2017, I knew I needed to see the next one. I got INCREDIBLY lucky to have footage of the 2017 eclipse. It was literally LAST MINUTE-- and I mean taping eclipse glasses to an basic camera and then ripping them off at the moment of totality and hoping for the best. The video is on my channel, but it’s trash compared to this 😂 We were better prepared for the 2024 eclipse. What you said at 4:19 is exactly how I feel. I’ve seen a total solar eclipse, I’ve watched my videos, I’ve watched others’ videos, yet I was STILL completely in awe of what I was looking at in front of me. There is NOTHING that can describe the feeling of witnessing this magical event. You JUST. HAVE. TO. BE THERE… that’s all I can say on that.
I love that you did this and put so much effort into it, and that you also were able to stand there and enjoy it and take it all in. I shared your video with my aunt in TX- she watched it with me and had all of her cameras/solar film set up for it!

Watching your video reminded me very much of my own experience with this eclipse (although no way near as much strenuous detail that you went through)...
I live in the UK and travelled to the US in 2017 to see the last eclipse but I missed it because a huge storm came in, so I made it my goal for the next 7 years to see the next one. I flew all the way to Texas and bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to capture it, but when the moment finally came I was so nervous. The payoff of finally being able to see it with my own eyes was one of the best experiences of my life, and I got some incredible photos with my phone camera.
I'm so glad I was able to live to see this day, and seeing your video brought back all the joy of that moment. Thank you for uploading this 🙏🏻
