On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. I love the full fidelity aircraft, but making more FC3 modules was a must if they're going to get a wider player base. I find myself playing FC3 modules more often then not.

These were my favorite jets. Not just the MiG 15 but this whole era of early jet fighters. The Sabre, the Fury, the Mig 15, Mig 17. Beautiful jet fighters.
Speaking of the F-5, I'd like to see you do a "Bandit Unknown" with the Tiger.
The real reason for FC aircraft is that they intended to release a simpler combat flight sim, but they abandoned that project and are releasing them as DCS aircraft.

I need more FC3. VTOLVR has the perfect amount of complexity for me and I'd love to see something similar in DCS
Though I feel vtol vr also has a very different approach to simplicity in cockpits, as dcs tries to have their cockpit buttons and switches as accurate as possible, while vtol just puts on what’s necessary. Different, neither worse I love vtolvr, just thought I’d say that.
Always great to see vintage aircraft like this being featured. DCS is a very interesting opportunity for people to experience some of the 'old but gold' fighters.
I agree on the "low fi" approach. I kinda gave up trying to learn all the commands on the later aircraft.

As someone who has disabilities, I'm glad to see more of these FC3 style craft being added. I really do hope they continue to expand the catalogue as it makes the sim a bit more accessible for those of us who have enough trouble focusing on a fight, let alone try to manage stores and other important functions at the same time.
Mig-15 is basically a massive jet engine with some control surfaces added. BADASS!

Absolutely spot on, the high fidelity aircraft are great but the time involved is huge. In lots of ways the FC3 aircraft are much more fun but each to his own !

Because you dont hear the explosion of the propellant but only the tiny projectiles passing you with supersonic speeds.
So how does DCS simulate the lack of hydraulic boost on the Mig 15? Essentially, at high speeds, the Mig 15 was a bear to maneuver - especially pull out a dive.
So the MIG could outclimb the F86, but the F86 can dive away safely and in a in a high speed two circle, the MIG was dead.
this is simulated, at high speeds the aircraft becomes unresponsive.
the 2 circle where the mig15 can beat the f86 was not at those high speeds, so down low at the correct sustained rate speeds the mig15 was out rating the F-86 and the mig15 was fully responsive, you will only really run into the issue of unresponsive aircraft in dives, but if you're good you should be able to manage that with your air brake.
It has hydraulic boosted ailerons. But control ineffectiveness is there according to real flight data

Does DCS model the MiG-15's critical Mach number of 0.92, beyond which elevator controls became ineffective? On the MiG-15bis, the speed brakes opened automatically whenever the critical Mach number was exceeded, The implications for dogfighting ought to be obvious.

Please do a tutorial on how to setup your zoom view in FC3 aircraft!
You can go to axis commands and use an axis or search for zoom in slow and zoom out slow for non axis commands, hope that helps:)

I am curious if reticle marks has any meaning, helping to aim from a distance somehow?
The sight is made to be accurate from 200-800m. The marks are a fixed 3 degree circle and wingspan measuring marks within that circle. You use them to measure distance
