    Thank you for another great video. I find when watching POV videos, especially street photography that as you walk around and take your images, which are great by the way, I find myself thinking there you missed a good one, there behind you, etc. so what I suppose this illustrates is that we all see different shots in different contexts which is what makes street photography so individualistic.

    • @timjamiesonphotos
      @timjamiesonphotos  Рік тому +2

      Thank you Alison! Yeah totally agree with that, the video camera captures the whole scene but you can only capture what you’re looking at and some people will be attracted to different things than others, that’s why I love doing, and looking at others’, street photography - everyone has their own unique vision

    Photographing the more abstract is my favourite.. Years ago when l started out , dark room and all. l avidly read and looked at work by many of the Photographers/artists of the thirties, and before... .It all looked so easy.... it wasn't ...thats why they're remembered as great artists and I'm not... l did have a few photographs printed in Amateur Photographer during the late seventies/eighties....Is that my 15 minutes of Fame?....After many years 'doing' other things I've returned to my love of the Camera. l found your street photography, taking a more abstract view renewed inspiration. l especially like the the use of Graffiti, rotting posters/paintwork etc!, juxtaposition subjects. Interesting and informative..Thanks .Great video.

    Enjoyable post, helpful commentary, pics illustrate concepts well, Tim. Not sure how “experimental” moniker fits in, TBH. Reflections and framing emerge as key themes, though. Red “sale” image - could see that one coming. Lady in red w/negative space theme, right hand “space” too dominant /attention-getting textured, IMO, and lady in red too small. Patterns at 1:19 a fav, lady breaking pattern makes the photo work well.
    Overall vid format works well - would better connect w/viewers, IMO, if there were a short host talking head intro and closer - perhaps as picture-in-picture. A brief map insert/image showing your walking route in Bristol might also be a plus, for locals.
    I know you rejected this before (won’t bring it up again, promise😊), but I still believe numbering images would facilitate viewer comment.
    On brink of 5K subs - congrats.🎉
    Cheers!

      Thanks Paul! Appreciate the comment as always mate. It’s experimental for me because I very often just see the same old long lens shots of people from far away and lazy street photography videos on UA-cam, so just wanted to illustrate what a little experimentation and creativity can bring into street photography for beginners :)

    When you see a subject reflected in a shop widow, say on the opposite side of the road for an example do you used a deep depth of field or is the aperture set at the distance you are from the window itself? TIA Tim i can never decide what's best

    • @timjamiesonphotos
