- This tutorial will guide you through changing the stylus assembly for the AT-VM95 Series dual moving magnet phono cartridges.
The AT-VM95 Series phono cartridges have removable styli and the same body design, enabling vinyl enthusiasts to interchange and upgrade any VM95 cartridge with any VM95 stylus type.

I just put a VM95ML on my old Pioneer PL41 a few minutes ago, aligned it with a Grimm's protractor specifically for this cartridge. This cartridge sounds AMAZING! I came to this video to find out how to pull the stylus so I could align it with the Grimm's protractor as you have to have the stylus off so the protractor can align the cart.
Simple. Crispy. To the point. Love from Bangladesh
Really good carts the blue and green are made in China, and orange, red ,.and brown are made in Japan, these carts / styluses outperform their price point, I use the orange and brown on my technics sl 1200g and they sound very good, highly recommended 😀.
Hi, yesterday I purchased the AT-LP120XBT-USB and I love it. I have the following question: can I replace the needle that came installed (AT-VMN95E) with the AT-VMN95C without changing the cartridge? Or does each needle need a specific cartridge?
Hi there! Yes you can. All cartridge models in the AT-VM95 Series use the same cartridge body or “engine”, only the stylus (needle) varies. Just remove the provided AT-VMN95E stylus and install the AT-VMN95C stylus and you are good to go. Thanks! - A-T USA
Why did you change the more expensive and eventually better E stylus with the C model? I'm thinking about changing C for the E because there is not enough treble in my ears. TT is AT-LPW30TK. Thanks for info.
Yo thanks! Just got my AT table second hand and this has been helpful. Good to know I only need to replace the stylus, not the whole cart.
So, just to be sure, if I have an ATLP120XUSB that came with the ATVM95E, am I able to simply replace the stylus with any other stylus from the 95 line without re-aligning? I have not touched the alignment on the headshell that came with the 120X as I was told the stylus is aligned at the factory. I want to now replace the 95E with the ATVM95ML, so am I able to take off the 95E and place the 95ML on the headshell? Do I need to check for alignment, or am I good to go? Many thanks.
Hi Andrew! AT-VM95ML is the entire cartridge complete with stylus. The micro linear STYLUS ONLY is AT-VMN95ML. If you simply replace the (AT-VMN95E) stylus that was provided with the AT-VMN95ML Replacement Stylus, it is not necessary to align the cartridge. Thanks! - A-T USA
@@AudioTechnicaUSA That is great. If I already have a AT-VM95ML on the way, can I simply remove the stylus from this product and place that stylus onto the ATVM95E (cartridge) that was provided with the ATLP120X?
Without realigning?
@@achtungbabythefly Yes ,you can! - A-T USA
@@AudioTechnicaUSA Thanks so much!
I bought the at-vm95c and it sounds spectacular in my Akai ap-m5! I loved it
Do we need to rebalance the tonearm when switching from AT-VM95E to AT-VM95ML?
Hi, I read that when changing cartridges (thus removing the screws) one must use a non-metallic screwdriver. How wide should the screwdriver's blade tip be?

If we want to check the Alignemnt of the VMN95E, what's the best way to go about it? I currently have no knowledge on how to or how to alter it. Thanks!

Does the cartridge itself ever wear out? Also, is there any difference between a cartridge labeled "AT-VM95E" (like the one shown in this video) and a cartridge labelled "AT-VM95" which I've seen for sale in a couple of places? Thank you :)
Hi Jay! The cartridge itself does not wear out, just the stylus assembly does. When you replace the stylus assembly, you are replacing all of the moving parts. There is no AT-VM95 cartridge, AT-VM95 is a series of cartridges. There is an AT-VM95E, and an AT-VM95EN model cartridge. The “E” is green in color and features a bonded elliptical tip. The “EN” is orange in color and features a nude elliptical. Thanks! - A-T USA
@@AudioTechnicaUSA Hi team, thank you. My attached (turntable: AT-LPW50PB) stylus is black. Which type is it then? Still E? Thanks a lot!

Why do you not tell us that old stylus es are available in europe and japan?!
Hi. Today I bought an AT-LP120XUSB.
I just read one of your answers regarding the microline Stylus and cartridge. My question is this one, is the AT-VM95E cartridge the same that comes with my turntable? (I know the stylus is not the same)
Hi Martin, yes it is! - A-T USA
@@AudioTechnicaUSA Thanks. another question. Are all VM95 cartridges the same? Are VM95C and VM95E cartridges the same? (I’m aware the styluses are different)
@@MARTIN201199 Yes it is. Thanks! - A-T USA
I want to replace Audio Technica ATN3600L stylus with an Audio Technica ATN95E stylus. Can I do this without fitting a new cartridge? Don't want the hassle of wiring or alignment just want a staight swap. Hope this question makes sense.

Question regarding replacing the stylus cartridge…what is the basis for replacement bard on 300hours up to 1000hours…I’ve got a 95e…it’s about a year old…
Hi there! Some of the reasons for replacement would be loss of frequency response, channel separation will shrink and the lows will start to disappear (and the highs will as well). - A-T USA
I just want to get some clarification on the AT-VM95E i just realized there was a change in the stylus i have the older AT-95E will the newer AT-VM95E fit the original AT-95E cartridge headshell? My problem is trying to align the cartridge and i haven't had to align my cartridge as it came prealigned and just had to replace just the stylus

Hello there; did you get a response from Audio Technica? I have the same question. I wanted to upgrade my stylus and just realized the old AT-95E looks different than the newer version. I didn't want to have to change the headshell too, but it looks like that is the only way for those of us who have the older stylus. Appreciate your answer man.
@@paulocalvo4049 no not interchangeable the AT-95E has a different configuration
Super easy! Thanks for the video!

Hello , I have accidentally ordered and bought an atn95e replacement stylus for my lp120x usb is this stylus usable with this model ?
Hi Atakan! The AT-VM95E cartridge included with the AT-LP12XUSB is not compatible with the ATN95E replacement stylus. The replacement stylus for your cartridge is the AT-VMN95E. Thanks! - A-T USA

Hi, is this cartridge better or worse a performance than the AT110E that I have on my turntable at the moment but I think is no longer made?
Hi there! It is similar to the AT-VM95E, although the ATVM95E is newer technology and the styli are available where the AT110E styli are harder to find. - A-T USA
@@AudioTechnicaUSA dear audio technica! Greetings from geir Røssaak, jessheim Norway! I have allways been happy happy with my old cartridges at 11e, and the Shibata at 20 ss! I have allways liked aud-technica! You must tell people where they can get new styluses! If not people will leave you and buy an ortofon!
Dear Tony! I have the same old cartridge, and you can find a new stylus on Google! As a Norwegian sound engineer i can tell you that your cartridge is more than good! Greetings from geir Røssaak, jessheim Norway!

Hi Guys Just , Purchased A Audio Technica AT-VMN95E, Getting Ready To Install The Cartridge & Notice When I Opened The Box For The Styles, It Only Comes With Cartridge, Not The Mounting Body Part? So I Have My Factory Original Pioneer PLX-500 Headshell, Body, & Cartridge, I Purchased (2) Ortofon SH-4 Headshell Black & 1 Silver, And Also Purchased Audio Technica's PCOCC Perfect Crystal Leadwires To Swap Them Out On The Pioneer Factory Body For Cartridge, Why When U Buy A Cartridge It Doesnt Come With The Mounting Body Part?

Hi!! I recently ran into a problem with the needle falling off. It was from the VM95E cartridge, and with the slightest touch the needle fell off. The cartridge is still perfectly intact and I'm happy to buy a new one but I don't understand how this has happened and want to prevent it happening again. Is there any way you can help?
Hi Alyssa, our Parts Dept. may be able to help. Please reach out to Parts at parts@atus.com. Thanks! - A-T USA
Did anyone bump into the needle, or did you brush it sideways while cleaning? That could be a reason. Its not meant to move sideways. A friend of mine didnt know and cleaned it that way, which is why it broke off. Thankfully, it was just a VM95E, so it wasnt too expensive to replace.
the same thing just happened to me. did you ever figure out how it happened? it's easy enough to replace but i'd just like to know if perhaps i played a record that was maybe too thick (some of the colored variants are quite a bit thicker and heavier than standard lps), or maybe i pulled the protector off too hard or too sideways? i noticed the needle was super high and loose and just fell off at the slightest touch.
I have an old aud-technica cartridge at 11e.can i replace the stylus with a new aud-technica stylus?
Hi there! Unfortunately, no. Both the AT11E Cartridge (1976) and the ATS11E Stylus, which came on it, have been discontinued for quite some time. We have no original styli remaining for the cartridge and no current styli that is compatible with it. It does appear that at least one of our dealers, lpgear.com, has an aftermarket version of the stylus however. The current comparable cartridge complete with stylus is the VM520EB Cartridge. - A-T USA

Will this cartridge fit on At-Lp60?
Hi Colin! No, it will not. The cartridge is permanently attached to the AT-LP60 models. The only stylus used with the AT-LP60 models is the ATN3600L. Thanks! - A-T USA
I bought a cartridge with stylus AT VM95E for a Dual TT last year. Today I found out the tip was basically gone although I rarely used it, no more than 20 times. 😢 I am curious anyone has encountered this issue?

My headshell is non-removable. Guess it will be a bit trickier for me to replace my AT-VM95C stylus
Have you tried it l am thinking of doing the same thing worrying about damaging the tonearm
@@brit1954 Not yet. The replacement stylus is due in today. I'll let you know. I'm moving up to the Shibata VMN95SH
Okay. It came in and I swapped it out. It was really nothing. But, I had changed out Ortofon styluses often and so it was similar to that. Put the cap on the stylus, squeeze around the center and then pull down putting more a bit more oomph on the front then the back, wiggle it a bit, too. Just be patient but firm. It should just come right off. Oh, I would hold the arm with the left hand and work with the right, holding the arm up a bit off the rest.
Vinyl Bozz Thanks for the reply will definitely be upgrading my stylus I am going for the 95ML you will have to let me know if the Shibata is a step up in catching more information and sound quality from your vinyls
@@brit1954 Well, it's picking up much better than the AT-VM95C it replaced.
Gracias
I recently bought a AT-VM95E cartridge and i noticed that the SRA angle is not correct, i also seen that other people are having this deffect too. I stopped using this and switched back to the old AT95E which is better, sorry.
Bought it a month ago. $120 canadian bucks. For me, big disappointement. Compare to my old AMX and my old Shure it sucks. No bass, too much mids, very low output and it skips easily on any default on the disc. Even on the new opened ones. Tried it on my two technics turntables, sl1500 and sl1900 and same results. Just reinstalled my old shure. Unfortunately we can't find them anymore.

Will this work with the LP -60x
No. The LP60 uses a different cart/stylus - the ATN3600L. They can (of course) be replaced, but they cannot be upgraded. This is the stylus for the LP60 - tinyurl.com/x6yw3vre
Why aren't ANY of the replacement styluses black?! My AT turntalbe is all-black and it looks stupid.
Hi there! The LPW50PB uses a black VM95E. The styli is a AT-VMN95EBK. - A-T USA
