Joni Mitchell: The Hissing of Summer Lawns 7. Jethro Tull: Minstrel in the Gallery 8. Manfred Mann’s Earth Band: Nightingales & Bombers 9. Tangerine Dream: Rubycon 10. Steve Hackett: Voyage of the Acolyte
Loved seeing The Tubes on your list. This first album was superb. Fee Waybill dressed in that big white wig being so OTT was amazing. Their performance on TOGWT was just sensational. 10cc and Alex Harvey stuff tends to be underrated. Great video. Dave ✅✅
Hi Larry. CAN and Neu! are great picks. Sabotage is also my favourite Sabbath album. Five I would include: Dylan's Blood On the Tracks, Van Der Graaf Generator's Godbluff, Eno's Another Green World, Hatfield And The North's The Rotters' Club, and Joni's The Hissing Of Summer Lawns. Cheers, Jeff
That''s very cool getting gifts from Sean and Yoko Larry, you have celebrity friends and the only album on this list that I owned was Venus And Mars by Paul McCartney,a great album and when it came out I actually preferred it to Band On The Run and in many ways I still do,it was this album that he use to open his concerts with. Bob
my favorite albums of 1975 have always been Rush's "Fly by Night", an underrated album compared to their more famous subsequent ones, and Neil Young's "Tonight's the Night" and "Zuma", which in my opinion together with "On the beach" represent the highest points of his discography
Nice list. Larry. I don't have such a resplendent record collection to rank 30 so I'll go top 10 as: Bruce Springsteen: Born to Run Bob Dylan & The Band: The Basement Tapes Bob Dylan: Blood on the Tracks Neil Young: Tonight's the Night Led Zeppelin: Physical Graffiti Wings: Venus and Mars Paul Simon: Still Crazy After All These Years Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here The Who: The Who by Numbers Neil Young: Zuma
Excellent production, Larry. Your personality makes this video worth watching and makes it the best video on UA-cam for 4 January 2025. I love it when you show gifts from Sean & Yoko. My list includes: Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run; The Who's Who By Numbers, and Grateful Dead's Blues For Allah, all released in 1975.
You theif!! Haha Thank you for the shoutout. Lots of great albums turning 50 Thank you Larry😊 Appreciate it. I forgot about 10CC I don't have any BOA or Can. Night ar The Opera and Wish I would have ranked higher. Love Nektar. Lots of albums I don't have
Roxy Music - Siren, with its iconic cover featuring Jerry Hall when she was Bryan Ferry's girlfriend. Blood on the Tracks. I admire the effort it took to compose this list, Larry.
I was waiting for you to show Venus And Mars. I was not expecting it to be so large. The only big box I got is Red Rose Speedway. Top 14 1975 albums I got: 1. Steve Hackett - Voyage Of The Acolyte 2. Electric Light Orchestra - Face The Music 3. Wings - Venus And Mars 4. ABBA - ABBA 5. Chris de Burgh - Spanish Train And Other Stories 6. Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn 7. Le Orme - Smogmagica 8. Bee Gees - Main Course 9. Haruomi Hosono - Tropical Dandy 10. Elton John - Rock Of The Westies 11. Roxy Music - Siren 12. Fox - Fox 13. Chicago - Chicago VIII 14. Barry Manilow - Tryin' To Get The Feeling
1. Tangerine Dream: "Ricochet", 2. Tangerine Dream: "Rubycon", Edgar Froese: "Epsilon In Malaysian Pale", 3. Klaus Schulze: "Picture Music", 4. Vangelis: "Heaven And Hell", 5. Frank Zappa: "Bungo Fury", 6. Brian Eno: "Discreet Music", 7. Carol King: "Thoroughbred", 8. Klaus Schulze: "Timewinind", 9. Soft Machine: "Bundles", 10. Brian Eno: Another Green World".
1975 was a great year for albums. My rankings; 1)a night at the opera 2)wish you were here 3)fly by night 4)physical graffiti 5)young Americans 6)born to run 7)one of these nights 8)Fleetwood Mac. And many others of course
A lesser known Doobie Brothers album Stampede. With some lesser known tracks, the highlights for me being Neal’s Fandango and I Cheat the Hangman among other great songs on there.
Pink Floyd vs Led Zeppelin for me at the time. Battle of classic rock. Give Pink Floyd the slight edge because of the band thinking of their former leader Syd Barret & wishing he was was around for the massive success of Dark Side Of The Moon. Shine On You Crazy Diamond 💎 ✨️
The best from your albums is Sabotage followed by Young Americans. I like Physical Graffiti but it’s a bit too bloated with filler. Some other albums I like from 1975 are: TNT, and High Voltage - AC/DC Dressed to Kill, and Alive! - Kiss Ego Is Not a Dirty Word - Skyhooks ABBA - ABBA Live - Bob Marley Fighting - Thin Lizzy Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow
CSM, come on, Johnny Cash's Lima Bean Opus, Look At Them Beans, must be in the top ten, if for no other reason than the cover. Anyone who does a concept album centered around lima beans deserves our respect.
I don't have a lot of albums from 1975 but one of the few that I do have is Red Octopus and boy it is AWFUL. I bought a copy from my local Salvation Army Thrift store thinking that because Jefferson Airplane/ Starship was a good band I thought I would give it a chances. Boy was I wrong. It sucked.
I love McCartney to no end and consider him the premier songwriter of the 20th century, .but putting Venus and Mars ahead of a Night at the Opera should be a criminal offense.
These are albums from MY collection ranked. I don't own the albums is the answer. Perhaps I don't love those albums as much as you do... sorry KneeAches.

Hi larry 1975 50 years ago already and What great albums were released that year i really love golden earring switch underrated album👍✌️
Crazy to think these albums are now 50. Seems like yesterday we were celebrating their 40th.
Blues For Allah is one of my favorite Grateful Dead albums but I had forgotten a bit about it. I feel inspired to listen to it again now. :)
Every year in the 1970's was fabulous. But 1975 is the single best (well, at least to me).
And the year I bought Indiscreet on 8 Track tape.
You theif!! Haha
Thank you for the shoutout. Lots of great albums turning 50
Thank you Larry😊 Appreciate it. I forgot about 10CC
I don't have any BOA or Can.

John Cale's "Slow Dazzle" which has the greatest cover in music history..."Heartbreak Hotel" (Presley)
I totally 100% agree with Physical Graffiti being number 1 👍xxx.
Great year. My #1 is probably Wish You Were Here
“It’s not bluegrass!”😅. Can’t believe 50 years have just flown by. Good vid. 😊
My personal top 5: 5. One Size Fits All 4. Wish You Were Here 3. Wired 2. Physical Graffiti 1. Sabotage
Wired...if you mean the Jeff Beck album, it's 1976...
@@mutant_blues I meant blow by blow sorry
1975 was a great year for albums.
My rankings;
1)a night at the opera
2)wish you were here
3)fly by night
4)physical graffiti
5)young Americans
6)born to run
7)one of these nights
8)Fleetwood Mac.
And many others of course
A lesser known Doobie Brothers album Stampede. With some lesser known tracks, the highlights for me being Neal’s Fandango and I Cheat the Hangman among other great songs on there.
I will only own their 70s stuff so I should represent here: Aerosmiths Toys in the Attic is mighty fine.
My favourite album of 1975 is Bruce Springsteen‘s Born To Run!
Blood on the tracks... Arguably the greatest album of all time.
It would take a hell of an argument to argue that....
And released this month in '75 I believe
@@kevtruth yes indeed
Even though it says 1974 on the album.
I would pick Sparks Indiscreet over Physical Graffiti all day long.
The best from your albums is Sabotage followed by Young Americans. I like Physical Graffiti but it’s a bit too bloated with filler. Some other albums I like from 1975 are:
TNT, and High Voltage - AC/DC
Dressed to Kill, and Alive! - Kiss
Ego Is Not a Dirty Word - Skyhooks
ABBA - ABBA
Live - Bob Marley
Fighting - Thin Lizzy
Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow
Aerosmith: Toys in the Attic. Fleetwood Mac, the reborn album. Alice Cooper's Nightmare... The Who By Numbers.
What about the Who By Numbers?
I only heard that album for the first time about two months ago and really liked it.
It's good but not in my CD collection at the moment.
Jefferson Starship Red Octupus
The only album I like from 1975 is the soundtrack to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show".
I forgot to include that album - Love it! … especially the version with all the songs like Sword of Damocles 👍🏽
Agree about Physical graffiti being number one. In my time of dying. Enough said!
Nobody likes Horses. Agree about 10cc. I'll have to check out Golden Earring. Sabotage is great of course.
I wish you a great 2025!
CSM, come on, Johnny Cash's Lima Bean Opus, Look At Them Beans, must be in the top ten, if for no other reason than the cover. Anyone who does a concept album centered around lima beans deserves our respect.
I don t like LZ, but PG is a great album

Wich shows the mid-70's weren't that bad. And buddy, some of the CD's are not from 1975 (ie Spectres, BOC, '77).
Buddy, I know, I have been told that already in the comment section. It was a mistake. Thanks.
I love McCartney to no end and consider him the premier songwriter of the 20th century, .but putting Venus and Mars ahead of a Night at the Opera should be a criminal offense.
How is Blood on the Tracks not on this list? Born to Run? Seriously, I bet there are other “best LPs” turning 75. Sorry Larry, but….::
These are albums from MY collection ranked. I don't own the albums is the answer. Perhaps I don't love those albums as much as you do... sorry KneeAches.
You’d be looking more at Doris Day, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Edith Piaf for “best LPs turning 75”! 😆
