I'm afraid Lippert is the core issue regarding frames. Montana, DRV, VanLeigh, ect, ect... have all had frame problems. Grand Design HAS been slow (in my opinion) to respond. I'm glad they have started to sincerely address the issue. One year frame warranty is now a 5 year warranty and they're back dating that to 2020 which should cover what is going on. Quite frankly this is an unprecedented move in the industry and a huge step in the right direction. Time will tell on 2nd and 3rd owners.
Man GD is a tough sell right now. A lot of people blame the issues on the frame and some of that is probably true but GD has done a horrible job at managing these issues and got caught trying to sweep them under the rug. It’s going to take a long time to get that trust back from some.
It's not all Grand Design Momentum frames. It's specifically conventional designed 1621 style pinbox frames. This unit has the Spacesaver Rhinobox frame design that is 40% stronger. As an owner, I've been following the dubacle closely and I have NOT seen a single Rhinobox frame failure. All the failures are 1621 pinbox chassis.
@WanderingWeekends yeah right on time I just purchased a DRW went yesterday looked at this and the 395M almost pulled the trigger but this Frame flex still got me worried
@@WanderingWeekends I hope that works. I really do think it’s 50/50 between GD/customer. I’m a truck driver for 26 years so when you hook up and roll it’s your problem now. I think people think if you get a dually and you get a momentum you can load as much as you want. Now from the other side if you have a dually and a momentum you should be able to take it to the MAX the GD says. I think that the manufacturers of the big 5th wheels need to put mor realistic weights on the trailers. That’s just my opinion.
Eillen and I think you are such a class guy and have an awesome family. We enjoy all your videos. Also like this on as it was informative and fresh the way you presented it. We also have a tow being 2670 MK but like seeing other rigs. Hoping you summer is full of great memories. Best, Steve
GD probably asked you to do them a favor so they can pitch their products. HOWEVER I and many wouldn’t touch any Grand Design product with a 8 ft pole FRAME FLEX! Furthermore it might fireback on you and your followers. But it’s your channel and best of luck
@let_it_ride Grand Design is not the only manufacturer that have that problem do more research and you would see there's other manufacturers that have this problem it's also some UA-cam videos of people talking about theirs and it's not a Grand design
Who in their right mind would buy a 5th wheel from GD with all the frame issues?

@Itsa_Mea right I been say this every since this thing started spreading over the internet and social media
Nice LOOKING.
That is a monster hitch weight. You almost HAVE to haul something in the garage.
Definitely DRW territory.

What about the frame ?
GD has extended frame warranties to 5 years.

This has the newer design Rhinobox frame that's 40% stronger. I've not seen a single unit fail, all the failures are the 1621 pinbox chassis.
3/4 ton towable? I think not….
I think he was referring to their smaller offerings. Haha.
@@WanderingWeekends even they’re smaller offerings are nowhere close to being 3/4 tone towable. Safely towable that is…
2500s/250s have no place towing a tri-axle fifth wheel. Why would anyone even ask. Get the right truck for the job.
