In this video we show how to access the printer and remove parts so you can make a judgement if you want to make a repair or not. If you are just watching for entertainment, that's another reason we made this video! Enjoy!

youre a gentleman and a scholar. I appreciate this. Dang thing hasn't grabbed paper since about 6 months after getting it and now the head is fussing but I couldn't get it out like the pixma pro 9000. Didn't want to strip it down just yet like I did the other one, etiher, though I will when I order the rubber wheel cleaning stuff in a couple months when I strip down my reel to reel, but the heaad's getting an alcohol bath today! You da man!

You got the like for your video anyway. But where do I find the waste ink absorber in this printer? Can it be cleaned or does in need to replaced? I did clean the printer head many many times and it is still alive, but now it is complaining about the ink absorber error code 1700.

    • @303electronics

Thank you very much for the like! The ink absober pads are located on the back far right corner of the printer. It is not easy to get to. You can see it at minute 12:30 in this video. The error will stay even if you replace or clean the pads, so i would just buy a reset online which costs about $10. That reset utility will reset your ink absorber pad count to zero. You may google for it. I do not have a specific website in mind. here's a link to a video from which you may be able to get an idea of how that works. I am not in any way affiliated with them. ua-cam.com/video/CVKEG6fLGyA/v-deo.html
After about 100 pages or so, your printer will give you a 5B00 error, which will just not let you use the printer until the waste pads are reset. Please let me know how that works and what site you used so it can be helpful for others in need.

Honestly, this is a great step by step to disassembling this infernal machine XD
However, after taking half of it apart I just couldn't wrap my head around why the print kept giving "cover is open" messages and reseting whatever action I had taken. (sometimes just touching the Operational Panel gets it going through "cover is open" cycle before going back to standby)....
I put the tray and cover back with difficulty but it's still working, though the "Cover is Open" keeps popping up all the time....
I know this is something that was posted 2 years ago almost, but if anybody has had any type of experience with this type of issue, it might help me to solve (my initial thought was a contact issue with the Operational Panel's closed contact sensor... but I don't even know if I saw it....)

Hey bro i have the same exact printer. The power won't turn on, I already cleaned took out the print head prior and cleaned it with alcohol, but now its LOCKED on the right side and won't turn on... How do I get the print head to unlock when the power is off? I appreciate any advice you have or trouble shooting. I thought I got it fixed because the b200 error stopped and I was gonna print a test page. Then while it was printing nozzle test page, it just turned off and never turned on again. Thanks!

    • @303electronics

There is a locking mechanism on the right side. Your power supply or main board is bad most likely.

@@303electronicsHey! Thx for much for replying man! I managed to get the printer to turn back on by getting the printhead unlocked from the right side and then removing the cartridges. However firstly I keep getting, "install printer head 1401" error then I remove the print head and put it back on repeatedly, and then it gives me a b200 error. I tried to turn off the printer and repeat but no luck so far, still getting either bp200 or the 1401 error (tried doing it with print cartridges in and out, as well as printer head in and out) turning the printer on and off... I tried using compressed air with a alcohol swap stick to clean the inside of the print head pins input/output component too. Maybe I wash the printhead again with water/ soak it with alchohol to get any remaining ink out again? Any ideas or potential tricks that might work? I appreciate your help. Thanks!

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  4 роки тому +1

@@deadpoolcrypto Seems like the problem is with the printhead. It's what caused your printer to black out probably. Replacing a printhead is the only option I think in your printer's case.

@@303electronics okay thanks for the reply , do they still make the printheads for this exact print u have on the video?
It only blacked out once when I tried to open and close the cover while the printer restarted to force it to go to the settings screen. Then when i tried to print a test page it shut off. I could try to replicate it again and see.

Hi. The printer model is usually on the front of the printer, by the control panel or screen. Sometimes on the front tray. You may need to close the tray to find it there. Power supply model can be found on the power supply itself. There is a number that starts with "K" followed by 5 digits. For example K30314". There is another 7 digit part number which starts with "Q" and follows this format "Qxx-xxxx"

Hi and thanks for this helpful video. I'm gonna try replacing the print carriage on my iP7220. I got everything I need from your video except for how to unplug the ribbon cables. Do they just press in or is there a clip of some sort on the receptacle that I have to open or slide back? I don't want to get this close and then fail because of a self-inflicted injury.
Thanks in advance for your response.
