We went tent camping at Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness!

- For this trip to Walt Disney World we split time between a Disney hotel, and Universal hotel, and Fort Wilderness. We have stayed in the cabins before but wanted to try our hand at tent camping. I have been tent camping with our son, Alex, but Michelle hasn't been in a tent since August of 1996. We had a teething baby in high 90 degree temps and it did NOT go well, lol. As such she has not gone tent camping since! Well turns out she really does like it! Great weather, great outdoors cooked food, great activities, and in general one of the most fun time we have had in our many trips to WDW. Forgot to record an outro...sorry! Retired my Mickey Mouse Vans sneakers...they had a couple "structural" issues and wouldn't make another trip so I left them on the pad at Fort Wilderness in the way that wresters leave their wrestling shoes on the mat when they retire! If you tent camp and can stay at Disney, it's probably one of the best camping experience you can have. It's like a state park with amazing amenities and very clean. Just remember that during January and February it can actually get cold.

Looks like you two had a fun time. Watching the video brought back a ton of happy memories of when we vacationed there with our (then), small children.

We stayed in Fort Wilderness about 17 years ago. We had a motorhome. Loved it! Except I prefer the monorail (not buses) (LOL).
I would take that breakfast for my no-track day. LOL And, sorry to say, I'd be disappointed camping at all, though your set-up doesn't look too bad. I'm just not the outdoorsy type. LOL The important thing is it looked like you guys had a great time (despite the breakfast issue Day 1)!

That was cool, I camp but no longer in a tent. It cost too much to tow my trailer from eastern pa to Disney so we usually stay in one of the Disney motels. I love Disney but the cost has made it prohibitive for retired folks

I'm so sorry you guys didn't get breakfast. It was so good when we had it! We are first-time tent campers and our first trip is in June. Could you tell me the name (or link) of the air mattress you all had? It looks so comfortable and like something my dad would be able to sleep comfortably in. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching! Hope you have a great time in June. The mattress was an Intex Dura-Beam Series Queen mattress with internal pump (24" height....they come in different heights). It was actually a pretty comfortable air bed!
Was it noisy sleeping in a tent so close to the comfort station and the bus stop?
You would think it was but honestly we didn't hear anything. I don't think the busses run 24 hours so I "think" they either stop or significantly reduced schedule at night and as far as the comfort station everyone walks to it so no noise. YAY! lol.
