This is why reading is fundamental. The Quick Start Guide VERY clearly says that it needs to charge the FULL 2 hours BEFORE attempting to turn it on. Regardless of what the gauge says, the battery is not sent with a useable charge. The firmware update that initializes when you pair it fixes the battery gauge. You were using Pass-thru power, which is why it worked on the charger but didn’t work once you picked it up. If you had either fully charged it or followed the instructions with it on the charger, it would’ve worked perfectly (I’m saying this from experience. I love my Ember and it behaved exactly the way yours did when I first opened it until I let it actually charge. )

I had been mentioning this term for a while now on both your videos and Jenna's. Anything tech related, whether it is software or hardware, will have many technical difficulties during this period. I have proof of this. For example, Dawn of War 3 was recently released on April 27th, I was just playing it today and I ran into a game breaking bug. The game generally had a lot of fixing to do. Your ember coffee cup could had been manufactured during one of these days (April 9th to May 3rd), and that is why it broke. Try replace it or wait after Mercury Retrograde and try your coffee mug again.
I like how Justine's excitement was about to the yellow and she said there needed more cutting and the excitement went to green the second she said it.

The mug doesn't heat up your drink, it can only keep it hot.
Not true, I have two of the mugs and heats up my drinks all the time if I leave the home for a while and come back and the drink is cold.
It has a battery life of ~3 hours if I remember correctly, and mine doesn’t heat my drink up, at least not a noticeable amount. Maybee a few degrees.

I did a test on this yesterday, kept the coffee at 62.5 degrees for 6 hours! A lot of money at £149 but actually pretty clever!
