- Sky News host Chris Kenny says Australia has been lucky with a “couple of mild summers” as speculation looms over the country running short on electricity.
“We have been lucky, the whole country has been lucky with a couple of mild summers, if we get a normal summer, we are going to run short of electricity,” Mr Kenny said.
“We are going to have February, March, where we do not have enough power in this country, that is what all the experts tell us, we have just been lucky with the weather.”
Electricity shortages will be because of the renewables., and lack of coal fired power stations. Nothing to do with hot summers.
Exactly.
So what your saying it's already happening but people are too busy to notice.
Renewables are intermittent, something labor will be finding out the hard way when the lights go out.

Coal and gas = no shortages.
Except for what the girls say about you. :)

Can’t we kick Labor out yet. What a disaster

They’ve been saying that summers are getting worse. The past three, at least, have been quite mild. They’ve downgraded the requirements for a heat wave and any day over 30 is a “scorcher”. Summers are not getting hotter, or longer in Australia.
Winters are getting milder which is why the average is up slightly.
Summers hardly changed.
I'm quite the vege gardener, way too cold for many crops in South Victoria
I have not seen a hot day that melt's the road since I was a kid

Net zero hitting Australia will lead to electricity shortages.
i remember the summer of 1983, that was harsh, no interruptions to power then, 'cause wokeness from little green demons wasn't a thing.
I was in Primary school. Damn hot. Lots of hot Summers back then with real heat waves. Haven’t had one for years now.
@southern-samurai yip, almost a week of over 40's in geelong, coupled with a nice massive dust storm. Rest of the summer was always over 30's
People seem to think that hot summers in Australia are a new thing.
@@stevewiles7132 Have dig through old newspapers on trove and see some of the weather reports 100 years or more ago. such fun to pick apart the alarmist nutters :-)

"If government was in charge of the Sahara dessert, there would be a sand shortage within 5 years"
Lol😂
And a tax on every grain of sand each time the wind 💨 changes and that grain of sand decides to move more than 3ft 😂
Shutting down our coal fired power stations and trying to rely on intermittent solar and wind power might have something to do with electricity shortages, don't you think?
Net zero policies are causing electricity shortages

Harsher summers..haha..we never had a summer in Melb..fair dinkum..what a con
Sky news is always a con.
Yep, haven't experienced a hot summer in yrs. I remember growing up in the 70s and 80s in Melbourne, those summers were always hot.
A harsher summer would be nice. I might get a sun tan next year.

It's important to note that earthquakes can also result from this.

Ohhhhh ok harsher summers.

That’s why solar on your roof is a must. Self sufficiency is key to avoiding the mess this government makes.
In this economic climate, who can afford the upfront cost of installation?
You’ll have to have batteries as well for that to happen. Watch they don’t burn your house down
I put solar panels on my car too!
If you fortunate to have it.
This creates, and is, another social divide-between the have yots and the have nots. The elites have made sure of that.
