Started my free trial of MZ and was a bit overwhelmed by trying to navigate the database and maps (etc.) by myself. You have explained it really clearly and it makes me want to start creating😁 Will definitely try and find the time to watch the rest of these, thanks again!! 👍
My dude, thank you so much for making these tutorials! Saved me a bunch of trial and error trying to learn how to use the software, nevermind making a project! Very helpful and easy to follow.
2 for 2! Having completed half the in game tutorials and your first 2 videos, I now have enough knowledge to fully experiment with map and town creation. moving on to vid 3!
this is an excelent tutorial, i just got RPG maker MZ yesterday thanks to RPG maker festival and i was completly lost on what to do, when you start a new program its always overwhelming but this helped me to easily get the groove of it
Dude its been...idk years since i subscribed to a channel and i browse youtube everyday. Found these videos SO HELPFUL and mindnumbingly easy to understand and follow that you left me no other choise. Good job man....props.
I downloaded the free trial earlier and I've been following along to this series. This tutorial is super helpful. Extremely easy to understand as well.
I have a little free time on my hands and I figured I would make a small game to show my brother, and this has been an enjoyable and easy to follow series so far.
love your videos I have a great game idea and I low drawing and I really wanted to bring it to life, and you are truly helping me understand it all thanks!
This is really helpful, thank you!! I'm in the process of tinkering with RPG Maker MZ. Will definitely be going through your tutorial videos as I go along!
heard about your vids fromm lurking a few forums, first ep helped me figure out alot and trying out the quick events and dissecting em showed me alot more lol.
Amazing! Thank you so much for these tutorials. As a beginner, these tutorials help me directly go into the key points and tell me why I should do that. It is really helpful. Thank you so much;)
Omg how did I not find this before !!! You are incredible man , maybe introduce JavaScript coding from beginning to intermediate level for RPG maker MZ on your channel , I promise your subscribers will soar.
Still heavy duty kudos! Funny typo though in your project folder xD but nevermind .. I am learning some great tips just watching you teach me this and I rather watch from beginning as rpg makers are actually very advanced software.. WHAT they do well is disguise themselves "VERY VERY EASY TO USE" hahaha and target people like me who dont want to code.. but they dont really sell it well in mind that afterwards I ragequit at dlc sorting and other things. hehe I wish you could tell my daughter that about running in houses she charges around like a maniac everyday haha xD EDIT very VERY IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: I notice what you are doing in the level and you never ever explained that and that would have been very extremely helpful for half noobs like me and total full noobs, the way you copy the tiles you want to use and paint them with ease while making that house.. You see personally I know about the method but I SIMPLY forget about it so I go back to the tileset again.. Needlessly. Old habits die hard.
I'm actually currently making a map for a game idea it going be kinda like a endless thing but got a story that you can play, the story I got bits and pieces for it but right now I'm just trying to get the map/maps together
I'm having an issue where things like path tiles and trees have the white background behind it, instead of it behind transparent, any idea why it's doing that?
Unfortunately I haven't had time to check their plugins out yet. I've been focussing so much on the new engine for new users that's I've literally only used 2 plugins and one of them was an Edit I did for an MV plugin. Deff keen to check them out soon though. Might even review them :p
Hi I Just bought this today on the Christmas sale. I can't seem to figure out how to delete sprites/tiles or move them around if its possible? I tried pressing DEL key but i didn't work.
IT would be a different tileset. When your making the map to begin with you should see an option for tilesets. It defaults to overworld but you can also select "Outside"
Hello, I am currently trying to make a simple rescue quest/level in MV. Here's how it would go: I talk to a character, they get kidnapped, I go into a cave and fight the bad guy, I talk to the kidnapped character to start a cutscene where we go to they're home and they give me a reward after thanking me. The problem is, how do I make the story and battle happen? So far I can only make the characters and dialogue.
Hi Simba, Check out the below videos. How to make a Quest: ua-cam.com/video/ZLPJ55Iajv8/v-deo.html&t How to make a Battle: ua-cam.com/video/BxCLPEH29Tw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LvLUpDesign How to create an Intro Cutscene: ua-cam.com/video/pG41z0gNeCA/v-deo.html&t These videos should go over the basics of what you're trying to accomplish. If you still need some help, let me know.
This series has helped me a lot, but I just have one problem. Whenever I place something, like a flower or those trees, I get that white tile background in the editor. And then when I start up the game, the objects have a massive dark shadow where the grid pattern was. There's also strange shadows on paths when I create them. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Check what layer you're putting the tile on. If you're using an image with a transparent background on it, then placing it on the first layer will give you that glitch. Make sure the flowers aren't on layer 1.
Is there a way that you've accidentally minimised the map? Ad for missing items from the roof down, I find it easy to use auto tiles on the Automatic layers level.
"because it's rude to run around in houses" that made me giggle, made me think of all the rpg games where you can run around in the houses!

put MZ down for awhile. Running through your videos again for a refresher! The tutorial selector in-game is now broken; this is a life saver!

Right clicking on a tile will copy it so you can then left click that anywhere else on the map.
Brillant!! Excellent job :D
You're amazing! thanks for this video!
Hey is there a way that doors can be bigger in size. such as making a castle entrance. very much appreciated.
Thanks for the series! You got the sub mate
Welcome aboard!
Coming from renpy im so relieved i dont habe to hae a headache messing with raw code
Really love these tutorials! Is there a tutorial on how to make an opening to give some background of the game?
Awesome, thank you!
Thx mate. This is really so helpfull. I was new in RPG maker thing and still use MV and i think the program still kinda same. Thx mate
Hey William! Glad my video helps! And yes, a lot of the elements from MZ can be used in MV too
this video helps me a lot. thank you!
Very nice explanation, thanks...
You are welcome! :)

Is there a forum site to post games/updates/ideas/discussions/etc and or play others games ?
I'm having an issue where things like path tiles and trees have the white background behind it, instead of it behind transparent, any idea why it's doing that?
Can you make the castles and stuff bigger 6:34 because the stuff around the player isn't really a realistic size? and can you add your own custom art?
Just set the overworld as outside, and build with those blocks, otherwise make your own art yes.
Now we're getting to the good stuff, making the level : D
Thank you Sir!
Maybe someone can answer this for me. With the houses, are you able to copy & paste a structure? Or do you have create a new house individually?
Quick question for you, have you ever used the VisuStellaMZ plugins or plugins by Raizen?
Unfortunately I haven't had time to check their plugins out yet. I've been focussing so much on the new engine for new users that's I've literally only used 2 plugins and one of them was an Edit I did for an MV plugin. Deff keen to check them out soon though. Might even review them :p
my player keeps spawning in between the wall of the inside of building and i cant do anything but spawn back out the door what's the issue?
Why do you have so much stuff at the mapping tab i only have limited i dont have fences on my mapping tab how do you add that?
In your map settins, check what tileset your using. You might only be using the overworld tileset when you can swap to an outside tileset.
just started rpg maker mv, and was wondering what sprite dlcs and plugins you'd recommend
I'd look up RPG maker on Itch.io. outside of the official stuff the community creates loads of awesome stuff!
@@LvLUpDesign thanks man

How do you delete something after you placed it down? Like floors or wall
Awesome tutorial! I had one question though, when I placed my fences they had a grey border around them, how do I get rid of that border?
Try putting some grass underneath.
It would really mean a lot if you guys could check out my new gaming channel and subscribe!

I can't get passed the part to transfer start location..... I get NO options for it popping up in the slidedown menu, what did I do wrong??
You on PC? Double check you got RPG Maker MZ -> Event mode -> Right click on a square -> Set Starting Position -> Player

During the making of the interior map part, player can run on the ceiling tile. How do I fix this 😂

totally getting a Final Fantasy vibe.

Can i change the aspect of the game to 16:9?
There are plugins available where you can change the resolution.
Uhm sorry how to get another tiles? it's it a plugin ?
at about 3:49 i feel like im watching the British version of Bob Ross
You're from South Australia aren't you?
@@darrensmith8053 nope. Close though
@@LvLUpDesign It's just from the way you say Castle...
wow, the characters are so big compared to the towns
Attack on Titan style :p
I can't move in my new level
Make sure you don't have any "Autorun" Events active as well as checking that the tiles you are using are able to be walked on.
Oof, RIP my ears.
