As a child my mother handed me postcards of the dollhouse when I was sick and I dreamt of shrinking down and living in it. Years later I was able to go to England and saw it, launching my desire to make dollhouses and all things miniature.
I make miniatures and am obsessed with all things small. I adore my dollshouse and before I die I would LOVE to see this house...I often come and watch the videos of Marys dollhouse. Its just awesome❤
I build two dolls houses for my daughter, victoriana style and eduwardian style. I was working on both the same time. Love it and my daughter was involved in the project. It was in 1994 she was 10 years old. Now she is 40 years old. Both of them scales 1:12
AWESOME! What incredible detail! I thoroughly enjoyed and loved every minute of this. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Can't wait for the 2nd installment! ⏳ Make it a great day! 😁
All this incredible beauty, time put forth, Love to one person, artists used, architecture, humor...makes me cry with joy. It is just so indescribable. I just can't imagine such a feat. Thanks for sharing such a Masterpiece.
Thank you so much-so many pics and items I’ve never seen before. Back in the early 80s, I think it was Time magazine that did a several page spread on this house and I was just obsessed 😍
You should look into “Titanias Palads”, it is as huge as this one, and it have the moste cute history, it now belongs to Legoland Denmark, and for the time it stands in “egeskov slot” and just as beautiful,, it is Titanias palads there made me start working with miniature as a kid
It’s a shame that, having taken so much care over this (which is interesting and has a nice level of detail), the narrator couldn’t have checked the pronunciation of names such as Lutyens, Jekyll and Inigo. But it’s a nice little video.
@@missg.5940 Yes, I believe so....last I heard it was restored and donated to a museum here in the U.S---it was a CBS news coverage of it that gave a brief (but very cool) tour. Wiki also has an article on it.
it always strikes me how historians try to connect this to the ordinary man. it is beautiful and wonderful, but one must recognize that when this was designed and made, the working class lacked all the things you see in this house. Everyone who contributed to it, gave nothing to the working class, who kept the wealthy rich. They lived in poverty and misery, children lacked care, clothing, clean water, food, education and toys. So it is important to view it for what it is, rich people wanting to please the monarchy. This has nothing to do with social development, because it never touched them
I'm glad you liked it. For the record, I'm not a historian as much as I am a person interested in historical items and want to share those items with others. 🤔🤔😀

Imagine an archeologist diggings this up in like a thousand years. It will give future generations so much information. So cool
Glad you like it! Thank you! 😀

@@dolfinmagikpro I really did. What an enterprising thing to do, and very much appreciated.
This is cool....on par with Colleen Moore's Castle Dollhouse in the USA.
Glad you like it!

Is there a video of it too?

Saloon is what they called it on the website. I thought it was odd, too! 😃
