2 hours isn't that bad, that's actually quite good.

U r doing brilliant, being a single Mum is tough, my daughter slept with me until she was 11 ..... sometimes u have to pick your battles, anything for a quiet life.

Stay strong, it is really hard once you have started them off in your bed, but it’s much better when they are in their own bed

I do this with my son, his always been allowed to sleep in my bed since he was a baby, the cot never worked he hardly ever stayed in it, if he did he woild wake constantly. Now his 3 we have got him a big single bed, tried to do same thing now leaving him saying good night. He is fine when you lay with him but if I try leave him in the bed alone he will get upset, I do also then just have to lay with him until he sleeps, sometimes I fall asleep and end up staying all night, but if I do end up going to my bed, he will always wake up in middle of night and call out or get out his bed to find me 😅 but if I stay the whole night with him he goes through till morning! They must sense when your not there next to them for sure, is really hard and struggle trying to keep him on his bed alone now just gotta keep trying its easy to give in though after the constant crys or tantrums 😔

It's not really natural for a tiny little two year old to sleep all alone in a room at night. I think it could be quite scary. Naturally you'd have brothers and sisters and probably 3/4 of the world all squash in to one room still. It's a modern "luxery" for a child to have a room to themselves, and not necessarily the most nurturing from the perspective of the well being of the child. It's just more convenient for the parent and is the current cultural "norm", which is bossily promoted by every health visitor.
