Excellent content as always. I do enjoy your flight reviews and this one was well edited. One thing to mention in case some of your viewers try and access non SAS operated lounges in the US is that Premium Plus longhaul tickets offer access to SAS operated lounges only and not those of Star Alliance partners, so departing from the US, lounges are available in ORD and EWR only, although SAS will soon be deflecting to SkyTeam. You got the best pair of seats in the cabin, just far forward of the wing to get the best views. Food looks fine, they could serve the main course on chinaware just to make it more premium in my opinion. I flew SWISS Premium last month SFO-ZRH and managed 4hrs quality sleep and was over the moon as I find it hard to sleep even in Business. Thank you for sharing another great video! ❤
Great video Gabe! I decided to watch this video as Im flying SAS from JFK to CPH in December and wanted to see how they are. Your video covers everything. Thank you
From New Zealand I’m watching your awesome flight review of SAS, your daughter I’m sure enjoyed her international adventure holiday to the U.S., her review points score of her inflight meal was upfront & honest👍✈️
I did tell you! I told you that I was happy I found “your channel” because of how helpful it was for travelers. Anyway, my wife and I always fly business class and one leg of a trip we have in mind is 8.5 hours. After viewing this video, I have to think hard about economy plus now. It is a close call considering bang for your buck. Thanks - Jim
Nice video, we are taking our first SAS flight in 3 weeks, Atlanta to Copenhagen and then to Barcelona in the SAS Plus seating. We'll see how it goes! Thanks!
Another great video Gabe, brilliant to hear your daughther's review of the food, pulling not punches! I have to agree that everytime I saw those engine cowlings I did grind my teeth. If even they painted the cowlings it would be an improvement.
I did that row & window seat on this aircraft a few months ago to NYC. It was indeed perfect for a daytime crossing. Booked biz back and it was a great money saving combo. The first round of drinks is indeed a weird procedure they have with this huge break until the first meal service. Overall, a great product, regardless of the bad headphones and poor amenity kit.
Yep, the westbound seems so long, after Iceland there's Greenland - which is stunning, but then there's icy tundra for about half the flight! (Sorry Canada). I like to imagine how many polar bears, regular bears, wolves and other creatures I've actually seen (but not noticed) during this part of the flight, it's probably thousands. :D Your daughter's food review was excellent! :D Thanks for the video!
Thx for the video Gabe! I recently found out how cheap SAS flights are to the US. Last time i checked flight from CPH to LAX. And it was like 480 Euros round trip. No wonder why a lot of people use CPH as a main hub to the USA. Especially Germans living in the northern/eastern states. It's faster and cheaper to travel with SAS(BER-CPH-LAX) rather than with Lufthansa(BER-FRA-LAX).
Wow! You got a water bottle for free! When I had run through the whole Gardemoen airport and was extremely winded I had to pay 35Sek for one on SAS economy even though a single one way ticket was over 2000sek. I sat there coughing due to my dry throat. It immediately stopped after almost inhaling the entire bottle. That was a bit cheap of them.
Yes I’ve said it in some previous videos but the charging for water thing is really a blow to the brand and needs to stop! Luckily it’s only within Europe, but still!
Beautiful images on the descent into CA, Gabe. Great video as usual. I agree with you on the transatlantic flights to the West. I recently did MUC-DEN (okay, not quite the West Coast) and still find those last couple of hours a slog. I don't want to hear when we are about to begin our descent, because it somehow feels like a loong time after that. Just tell me when the flight attendants have to prepare for landing! Even then...Fortunately, Denver offers some spectacular views as well depending on the approach. Thanks!
I'm genuinely curious how SAS is going to keep faring under the wings of Airfrance KLM, especially considering their reputed past. Hope there won't be too many savings on for example the Plus premium fare, I could see them cutting lounge access out of it in the future, something KLM would totally vouch for. Another great video!
Yep the lounge access is a potential concern, but hopefully not since SAS has no premium cabin higher than Plus in Europe - whereas KL and AF do have business, and they're going to want to be able to sell "business" connections across all three.
Just subscribed...will fly them in 4 weeks from CPH to SFO in Premium Eco...and back from LAX in Business...good they are in Star Alliance until end of Aug...so my last chance to give it a try as I am a Star Alliance guy...seats look good but food looked a bit blant
Excellent review Gabriel! I really hope that SAS gets their A330's painted with the new livery, especially because they will be flying for a long time. But unfortunately, I don't think it will happen because of the financial problems SAS has faced these recent years. By the way; Glad Midsommar från Danmark!
I would like to see that as well, altough I will miss the red engines, the new livery is really sleek. Still, I feel like the blue band around the engine could have been red 😉
Awesome vid Gabe! Do you think the cabin experience/quality is comparable to the one on their a350? Also, saw you had your 14” mbp out, do you think the tray table could comfortably accommodate a larger 15” device? Thanks!
Thanks! The A350 is somewhat nicer because it's all just more modern, quieter, windows are bigger and the cabin altitude is lower. However they've kept up the 330 interiors well (unlike the exteriors haha) and I would gladly take either one. As far as the laptop, it felt like I was pushing the limit with the 14"!
Thrust reverse isn’t always required. It depends on a lot of factors and they’ll calculate a safe stopping distance taking all that into account, but if they can stop the aircraft using only brakes it tends to be preferable because you reduce wear and tear on the engines by skipping reversers.
@@airedition I have heard of this because I know the 757 sometimes can do it but typically crews would so idle reverse with more focus on braking to keep the brakes cool
The review was thoroughly informative, even more so than many other reviewers who travel quite extensively. The pointers on the outbound flight on their [beverage service] was very candid and useful. Though, if correctly described then airlines such as Delta/KLM, provide a great deal of extra comfort keeping passengers in all classes well-hydrated throughout the flight between destinations from NYC to Europe. Not just once but also after the meals for coffee, teas, et cetera. Then go onto collecting the food trays and leftover garbage. It’s incredibly interesting how much is economized on SAS. I have rarely travelled with the airline, preferring Delta & KLM, over other American carriers for overseas travel and destinations such as Stockholm too. Overall a very nicely comprehensive report from Premium Economy on SAS-Plus!
On any given flight they’ll do a calculation for landing distance and if conditions allow skipping the reversers without overheating the brakes they generally will! To avoid wear and tear on the engines.
Looks like you were seated at row 20. How tall are you, and was the "wall" in front bothersome? Could you stretch out your legs without hitting the wall? :)
Hey Gabe, youre a natural when it comes to the ''feel' and 'layout' of editing videos. Great work
Thank you so much!
Always a pleasure watching your videos! It's almost as if we're travelling with you !
That’s great to hear! Thank you.
Great video Gabe, you even got a glimpse of Apple’s “spaceship” on the approach to SFO.
Yes the first time I’ve seen it actually!
Hi Gabe, super nice video, you really deserve more subscribers! Thanks for your time and effort! 😊

Thank you! Yeah you’re right that’s an important point, that the lounge access is only good for SAS lounges.
Excellent video Gabe, I love this format, keep it up
Thanks! Will do!
Wonderful food review! 😂 Love it! 😉
Hehe thanks!

Thanks for the sub! That’s a great way to do it with business going back plus you’ll get the 350 which is an upgrade overall!
Did you know there is a direct flight from Warsaw to Porlamar? (Margarita Island). It's operated by Plus Ultra :)

I don’t understand how you only have 4k subs you should have 1 million 😮 Can you pleas do a video about klm soon❤ keep going
SAS seems like a really good and overall decent airline overall. Cant really go wrong with them
Yeah most of the time they are very decent and dependable.
Another greate video. Thank you. Saludos

Fantastic video! One question tho, we did not the reverse thrust come on during the landing in SFO?
I noticed that too, was wondering about that

SAS 💙💙💙
Will be interesting when they join SkyTeam - one more option to Europe from the West Coast in addition to DL, AF, KL and VS.
Yeah it will be. I’m looking forward to being able to consider VS more often, an airline I like but never fly.
Yes Have The Same Feelings
Good to hear!
Does your daughter know what an honor it is to get that window seat? lol. Great video, Gabe-as always!
Haha I did try to make it very clear what I was giving up 😄. Thanks!

Your daughter really have that natural youtuber talent for posing in a thumbnail, 🤑
Hehe, for kids her age it seems almost built in from birth 😂
They did not deploy the reversers, why?
On any given flight they’ll do a calculation for landing distance and if conditions allow skipping the reversers without overheating the brakes they generally will! To avoid wear and tear on the engines.
Did this is march (OSL-ORD) with my 15 y/o son. Same experience, same conclusion. Not worth it if the premium is over 50% from cheapest Go.
Thanks that’s interesting to hear you had a similar conclusion!

That's me!
Did you say the wifi works on SAS???? SURELY this is a lie.
I mean it wasn't blazing fast and 100% consistent but yes, I find on the 330s it usually is working!
