Sometimes I need an escape from the ludicrous media and trauma of news stories and the endless drama of social media and this is a safe haven. Especially after everything that has happened over the weekend in Texas. I’m still having some anxiety over that and needed to get my mind off of it. Thank you Emily.

Sribeauty Shine that's why I trust gurus saying they love something if it's half empty or hit pan or at least the lids are covered in fingerprints. If the product looks pristine, I doubt their sincerity.
I love your favorites! And how you keep it “real”. I’m starting to see all of the commercials for the music awards and all of that and I’m just thinking “screw that, I can’t wait for the Emily Awards!” Your nails look amazing by the way!😊
As much as I love makeup (LOYAL Saturday morning video + coffee family over here!), my favorite part of your videos is the "profound thought" and "random thought" portion in your info box. They are consistently spot on and touch my heart. Thank you, Emily. Your insight truly is special.
I love this idea!! I was about to say I can't believe you're close to a million, but I can bc you are UNBELIEVABLE!! No matter how long I've been watch you keep me interested and do some new and different things, while still staying true to you. I love that even with a monthly favorites, you want to do something a little diff for you, and for us.
I gotta say, I absolutely love your honesty, and yet so relatable and how your channel has virtually no drama and the comment section is nothing but nice things!! It’s so refreshing!!! Goes to show how far honesty n being so down to earth n relatable gets you!! You’re my favorite UA-camr, hands down!!

Too funny/ironic! I was rewatching old Emily videos on Sunday, and one was I think the last time you did a best in beauty as a GRWM- maybe April. I was thinking how much I enjoy watching the application start to finish vs talking through products (don’t get me wrong I’ll take any Emily videos I can get!) ♥️
Elle Is For Living I am retiring mine. Moving on to the Maybelline age rewind in the brightening color and B.B. cream. Getting off the shape tape train too!
I’m 49 and Shape Tape works for me (and I have dry skin). I’ve found that less, and I mean teeny tiny amount, is great. If I’m having a particularly dry day, I’ll mix a drop of oil in my moisturizer. I have seriously dark circles (thanks Mom) and mix the Becca Brightener with Tarte CC color corrector before applying Shape Tape. I’ve been setting with either Elf under eye setting powder or Stellar “Haze” powder. However, Maybelline Age Rewind covers just as well and is a thinner formula. I also like Cover FX.
I broke my collarbone, dislocated my shoulder and broke my wrist playing soccer. I was in so much pain. I couldn't even take a shower so my mom and sisters helped me do just about everyday life things you do like getting up from bed, brush my hair you know simple things you don't realize you need help with. It was bad. But it helped me appreciate life even more and all the support from my family. Listening to your story made me remember that painful time but I'm glad I wasn't alone. And I hope you get better soon.
had major knee surgery last year and i️ was in a wheelchair for a month, and crutches for 4! i️ was stuck in my bed all alone and once i️ has done my school work, the only thing i️ could do was play with my (then tiny) makeup collection. this i️s actually how i️ found your channel! i️ had the Maybelline The Nudes Palette and i️ watched your review about 100 times. i️ had no idea this youtube makeup world existed or that someone could know so much about makeup! i’ve been here ever since. anyways, thank you for always keeping me company. hoping for a speedy recovery!
You're so right about the Mystic Black! That must have been my problem, I'll have to try the Blackest Black again. I was soooo ticked about how quickly I had to toss something everyone seemed to love so much!
OMG. Emily, I did the same thing 10 years ago Halloween night!!! I had a 2 year old and a 4 month old. I was racing around the house to get the kids ready for trick or treating and I slipped on the tile floor in my bedroom. Baby , hubby and I went to urgent care, while Grammy and Papa took my toddler around the neighborhood. I soooooo wished I could press rewind on that split second when I felt I HAD to run to the bathroom for black eyeliner to darken kitty whiskers! It truly was a faith check and God's way of telling me to slow down. My ankle was fractured and I was in a cast for 6 weeks! We had a Home Health nurse for 3 weeks to help out around the house and with the babies. What a memory! Take good care and SLOW DOWN!!!
Hi Emily! I'm so glad you mentioned the RT Instapop Eye set again! The day you first talked about them being so great for small eyes, I was listening to your video on my way home from work and immediately took the exit to go to Ulta to pick them up! Boy were you right! For 10$, these have totally changed my smokey eye game. Thanks again, you're the best!
stephanie sprinkle girl DO IT. They're also denser than normal eye brushes and put down the pigment where you actually want it instead of flinging it into the air or god knows where else lol. Best makeup purchase in a long long time!
Do you find that you need other eyeshadow brushes along with them ? I'm a makeup newbie and was wondering if they are enough or should order other brushes with them
Nermin Badwi I've just being using these alone since I got them, but for a super blended, blown out look, I'd use a fluffy crease brush too. Like Emily shows, you can use the smaller one's flat edge in place of a smudge brush on the lower lash line, so I think just the three would be perfect if I was starting over. Good luck and have fun with everything! I wish UA-cam was around when I first got into makeup, then there might not be unfortunate pics of me looking like a crazy person/raccoon! Lol
Laura Paswell Thanks for replying UA-cam does help also iy has not been helping my wallet so much lately I'm morbidly afraid of looking like a raccoon or turning into a clown
One of the drawbacks of being a Capricorn is having weak or vulnerable knees &/or ankles (or even the joints in general). Being a fellow Capricorn, I sympathize with unfortunate accidents like that Emily. I hope you recover quickly! Much love 💜💚
Do you find that you need other eyeshadow brushes along with them ? I'm a makeup newbie and was wondering if they are enough or should order other brushes with them
I love that you mentioned you can't judge the staying power of all makeup looks solely based on the setting spray! I've been saying that for years and people look at me like I'm crazy.
Just wanna say thank you for making me stop and take a break! I was in the middle of completely overhauling my beauty room (cleaning rearranging the furniture and reorganizing my make up and the dreaded cleaning all the brushes) when I got the notification that you uploaded. I’m the type that once I start something I break myself until it’s done. But there’s no way I was not gonna stop and watch when you upload!!! Love my Emily! ❤️❤️ great vid as always and you look beautiful as always!
Tarte recently increased the price of shape tape from $24 to $27. (And if I’m not mistaken I️ swear it started out at $21) I️ understand that they CAN do that and it’s only $3 more, but I️ find myself irritated with the brand and Tarte used to be my absolute FAVORITE. They upped their price in a sneaky way during their birthday “sale” by raising it to $27 but marketed it as 25% off. I️ haven’t heard anyone else talking about this and I️ MAY care too much, but I️’m just turned off by the dishonesty. I️ would rather put my money towards businesses with better morals. Just wondering if you or anyone else has an opinion on this?
x0x0M0NiQUE right? Double BS because they shouldn’t lie about it! Even if you go back to old UA-cam reviews of when it first came out they all say $24. On ThriftThick’s channel she shows the actual computer screen where it’s listed at $24
I love this idea! I think Jaime Paige usually puts on her beauty favorites for the month in her favorites videos too which I really like. Hope you're having a good week! :)
For undereye concealer I love the Sephora gel concealer. I feel it doesn't get talked enough here on Y tube. A real sleeper!! It's light yet covers you need very little . I also use Sephoras corrector. Same gel form. I'm thrilled with the combo. You get coverage and brightness and can't beat the price point. I'm 65. I highly recommend these 2 products together. You may be pleasantly surprised. Hope so.
I love this idea. If it's that kinda of month where you have all the products for a full face then yeah totally do it this way. Heck even if you don't have a full face, a demo is always good.
I really like the make it dewy! It reminds me a lot of mac fix plus and definitely makes a look less powdery. It goes help set the makeup but not as long as make it last in my opinion.
I've been loving the ELF Flawless Finish Foundation for the last couple of months over all my others. No muss, no fuss, looks great, just the right amount of coverage. It's basically HG status over all my foundations, high end, luxury and drugstore, this little $6 foundation.
You are so right about Mac's Velvet Teddy. It lives in my purse too. I've worn it alone, but a very light swipe of any other color on top turns it into something very different and perfect. It also goes on top of anything else if you need a little maintenance after a meal. I bought it in that Ulta 21-day sale for half price because I didn't think I'd like it but now I love it like everyone else. All the beauty vloggers are right about this shade and you are totally on point with it being a purse dweller.
Ok I have a new bottle of mystic black I just opened up and I was like....what the heck?! It's so dry! I thought maybe they changed the formula of them all and I was going to ticked!! I'm so relieved! Love your long videos! Hope your foot continues to heal! 🙏🏼
I feel the same way about the Just Peachy Palette. I rotate my palettes every week and every time I put this palette on rotation for the week, I just keep it for an extra week or two. Just love the way it performs on my lids and the colors. Just love it!
Awww~ I love your chatty get-ready-with-me videos so much!! 😘😘 And I so miss old Beauty Broadcast Live days on every Thursday so much, too! Who’s with me?? 😁😁❤️❤️
I've actually used the Elf primer and foundation for the past 5 years for my daughter's ballet dance recitals. It has always held up through the preshow practice, then slight touchup, and all the other shows, to pictures. It holds up to the stage makeup and alterations from one dance look to the next also.
I feel like, and don’t take it wrong, you had a drink before taping. I hope you did, you gotta relax now and then! As a mom myself, I felt you were more chill and not rushed for the video. I enjoyed it, been watching and taking your advice for years. Beautiful!
Guerlain make up products all have a a heavy violet, rose scent. Which is a lot of times is associated with “old lady” scent because it was a common scent during the 50’s and 60’s in baby powder. I love it. Reminds me of my granny.
At 17:35, I think your look is absolutely stunning, and you haven't even done your eye makeup! I think you look so polished and sophisticated with everything minimal and then that POP of lip. So pretty, Emily.
I love this version of doing a full face of your favorites while hearing little life updates and more about the products. You're so genuine and one of the best, hope these next few weeks go by smoothly as your foot heals!
I used to work at an orthopedic urgent care! We had some patients come in that had a clean break across the entire ankle. they had to go to surgery immediately. glad to hear you didn't need that. the pneumatic boots are awful. hope your recovery goes quickly and well!
I'll be praying that you heal quickly! I broke my big toe and had emergency surgery. Couldn't put any weight on it for 6 weeks so I definitely know how that feels and goes. Keep yourself busy with what you love and I am glad God sure is watching over you and that nothing worse happened.
I bought the Gingerbread lipstick because I saw it on you and fell in love! Especially because you said it was more rusty red than rusty orange. I personally love pairing it with the ND Holiday palette in Aeris... there’s a rusty red shade in there that I use for a one shadow, blown out eye look paired with that lipstick.. and Becca Bronzer In the deepest shade for blush (brown with strong red undertone). ❤️
I had the same problem with the Lash Paradise - Mystic Black. Was dry within a week! And regarding the smell of the Guerlain bronzer - - - that is the smell of luxury and elegance!
foot injuries are the worst! I stepped on a nail last year and got an infection and I had to be off my foot for a month and a half and I felt so helpless. It's great you have your family to help you out, hope you heal soon!
Thanks for another great video, Emily. I'm pretty much home-bound with an auto-immune disease so I don't go out of my apartment much at all, maybe to the mail box, and watching your videos makes me feel like I am spending time with a good friend. I love makeup, have dark hair and brown eyes so your choices work well with me. When I am well enough to get out of bed, I sit on the floor by my bed and try on makeup to brighten my days.
I love your videos ♡ and I would love to see some kind of DIY advent calender / shop my stash /declutter Videos. Prepare some bags going through your stash and create a look per day using only the products randomly thrown in the bag without testing them out before. If it works - fine - back to the draw. If not - hello to the declutter bin.
l love your videos -its like listening to a really well informed friend, I have watched you for years and feel like I know you- because you are so genuine and down to earth. Its great you still use products like Elf and lower cost makeup-thanks Emily.
Bless your heart, Emily! I'm praying you heal soon from your ankle injury. Thank God your Mom and Dad are able to help out. Thanks for this video! You look beautiful! God bless you and your family!
I too have been loving the new Too Faced just peachy palette. It's really really good I do a lot of looks with that and I get lots of compliments. And I also have that gingerbread liquid lipstick and I'm in love.! Same here as far as reaching for a lot of liquid lipsticks. Which is not really normal for me. I'm more of a lip gloss girl but I guess it's this time in season. Either way I'm in just enjoying it.
Please Emily you are so beautiful, baking...you will pay down the road. I never do it and I am much older. No undereye lines at all. I love yr dedication, have followed you for years. You kept taping that day you broke yr foot, amazing. You're our fave also bc you arent sponsored, no collabs, all HONESTY! Love you!!
What I can’t understand is how you don’t have more subscribers! I love how in depth your reviews are and how knowledgeable you are with so many different products. Even in videos as this one, it’s not a review video, but you still manage to give your thoughts on all of the products! Keep up the great work with your videos, I’ve been a fan for a long time and I really appreciate your honest (non-fake) opinions on the products you’re using! Keep well and I hope your time with that boot, flies by!
I love your positive outlook on your broken foot situation! My sister broke her foot and she has muscular dystrophy and was in a cast/wheelchair for 6 months!
I saw your post about your navicular bone. Sorry to hear about your injury and wish you a speedy recovery! For a person like you that is so active, I feel you when you say it is hard to not over do it. When I broke my leg in three places several years back (unintended and unexpected dismount from my horse ;). I hated my recovery from surgery (missed riding finals and was bored to literal tears) since I was on full bed rest for a while (I get bored and frustrated easily if I cannot get up and do things on my own). Best advice I can give you is do what your Dr. tells you, do not over do it and if you are not supposed to take that boot off, don't.. When you are feeling better, you will laugh about it ;) Especially if you need showering assistance from hubby.🌺.🌺.🌺.🌺. Lynn
Thanks for always being awesome! Can’t imagine how you do this with kids! I have 4 n couldn’t imagine doing this . And thank you for being a woman of my age group showing and teaching us how to apply makeup ... so many young ladies doing this and the techniques used don’t always apply. ❤️
I grew up as a gymnast and volleyball player, so I've had more ankle injuries than I can even count. But for me, a break was definitely easier to recover from and less painful than a major sprain. I had a major fracture at the end of my fibula and it was a way quicker recovery than any of my major sprains. All ankle injuries suck though and I'm wishing you a very speedy recovery!!
I fell down a flight of stairs where I was attending art school & had to be hauled out to the ER on a gurney. I was on crutches & in a boot for weeks. I eventually needed reconstructive surgery & they rebuilt my foot using titanium screws. Unfortunately I didn't heal from the surgery & it was months of being on crutches & wearing a boot & magnetic stimulus to generate bone mending. Over 2 years of not being able to walk. Even now it's difficult because my feet don't match & my gait is off. Please go easy & allow your injury to properly heal. You might have to wear more supportive shoes & lower heels from here on out. We all take our feet & our mobility for granted. Love your favorite videos. Wishing you speedy healing. The holidays is a crummy time to be injured :(
So glad your foot is healing! I fell down the stairs back in 2014 and ended up having ligament reconstruction and cartilage repair in my ankle the following year. Stairs are scary!
The just peachy mattes is number one on my Christmas list. My 6 year old and husband both have been told numerous times. My 6 year old said I need a beautiful palette for Christmas so that’s the one I picked! She knows I love makeup 😊
Awww! I've lived in the LA area for the last 30 years, but my grandparents lived near you in so Illinois, I felt homesick hearing you describe the trees!
So soory of your foot injury, Emily. Speedy recovery. Having 2 littles and injured must have been challenging. I've sprained my ankle few yrs ago. It took 6 months for me to run normal again. Take care.
I know the struggle. I broke my ankle last year and had two surgeries. I was casted for four months and unable to walk for four months. Keep your head up and the time will pass quickly.
Also - you can buy a liner/stocking type thing from a medical supply store to wear under the air cast - it helps cut down on skin irritation and itching.
I've said this before but honestly your videos bring me so much joy! Goes beyond the products you're talking about. I might not even be interested in the product but enjoy your company. I had such a tough day at work today and you made me forget about it for a while!
I'll second the fact that just having to be in the cast for a month is extremely lucky. I broke my ankle a few years ago by just slipping in the back yard!!!! I sustained multiple fractures, a dislocation, a broken tibia & ligament damage. (I know, right?!) I needed to have sugery. I now have hardware in my leg. I really have to work to keep my ankle flexible. And it's still not 100% flexible. But it could have gone much worse. When I was in the emergency room, they told my husband that they were worried that I may not have feeling in that area of my leg afterwards. Thank goodness I do! Wishing you a very speedy recovery and that you'll be running around in no time. :)
Thanks to you and your videos I bought the palette and the Limited edition Too Faced gingerbread liquid lipstick. Also had my eyes on the Real Techniques new brushes...
I absolutely love this video. It’s like a ride or die but every month. So we know up to date what your favourite are for the whole face. I would love it if you kept doing this every months or every few months!
I agree about the mascara, I love the Lash Paradise, but in general, it dries out soooo fast!! I've been using it with my Cover Girl Super Sizer as a layering mascara, and it helps to prolong the product. It plays well with others and it's been working beautifully!
Love the lip color! The fall here is beautiful too - last week was the peak week then we got t'storms come through and took everything away. Don't like the Lash Paradise - it flakes on my undereye area and dries out really quick - you have to replace them monthly.
I really love that you include all price ranges. So many beauty gurus/ influencers have lost all sense of economic reality
frugalwitch totally agree!
You are hands down the best youtuber! ❤
tracey mathias , I second that!

Melissa Whitt I love it ! I'm really loving all matte shadow palettes lately!
Feel the same girl!! Hang in there! God Blessed us with Emily!!
Melissa Whitt I agree it's sad on what's going on in the world

Emily!! That's seriously amazing. Thanks for sticking with me for so long!! I appreciate the kind words!
You responded!!! MY YEAR HAS BEEN MADE. And no problem! I appreciate your authenticity. Great content.

I second that! I'd love to see a "Purse Picks"!
I think the Tarte Tape Shape doesn't work for more mature skin. I would be very interested to know what your mom thinks of it. ♥ Elle
Elle Is For Living No, it doesn’t. I’m trying to figure out another use for it. 😩

I always think Emily gets the most excited when she's applying blush. It always seems to make her the happiest. 😊

Ulta employees in NYC new location told me it was always $27. NO WAY!!! It was $24 when I bought. Such BS!
x0x0M0NiQUE right? Double BS because they shouldn’t lie about it! Even if you go back to old UA-cam reviews of when it first came out they all say $24. On ThriftThick’s channel she shows the actual computer screen where it’s listed at $24
Yes! I’m glad someone else noticed! So sneaky of them to do 😒
Milena McLaren mhm not cool 😕
I feel like an exact dupe is the Wet n Wild Photo focus concealer. A little goes a long way and it's almost $20 cheaper!
Hope so.
Rachel Weinstein LustreLux loves that concealer too. I'm currently enjoying the Ulta brand.
Rachel Weinstein, I will check these out at Sephora later on today (Sunday). Thanks for the info!
We definitely share a few of the same faves this month!! THAT Just Peachy Mattes PALETTE! :)
Xx
I love that pallete
I just ordered that from the VIB sale, can't wait to try it!
+Fashion Chat - I love the Just Peachy Matte Palette ♥️
Everything about this video is why i love emily, and will never stop watching her videos!!!! LOVE YOU. need that lipstick in my life!!!
I LOVE the Gingerbread liquid lipstick! The color is absolutely stunning 😍😍😍
YAY I love your videos you're a good role model!
aw thank you!!
Definitely! I'm a mother to a one and a half year old girl and I always look to Emily as someone I strive to be as a person and as a mother.❤
that gingerbread melted matte looks absolutely gorgeous on you!! I'm gonna definitely look for it next time I'm in ulta
Madeline DeShazer it's a Sephora exclusive :(
awe man, I didn't realize! Maybe I'll buy it during the VIB sale. Thanks for letting me know!!
I am 50 and my daughter is 23 and we both love the elf foundation. Looks great in both of us and lasting coverage.
There's something so real about you using an elf brush with the guerlain bronzer. Love it.
Totally agree about the mystic black vs blackest black in the loreal mascara !!!
The loreal does dry out faster then the toofaced overall.
I'll be praying that you heal quickly! I broke my big toe and had emergency surgery. Couldn't put any weight on it for 6 weeks so I definitely know how that feels and goes. Keep yourself busy with what you love and I am glad God sure is watching over you and that nothing worse happened.
I agree those brushes are awesome. Bought them on your recommendation and am really liking them!
Sorry to hear about your foot! I hope you have an easy recovery!
Great video!
Would love to see you do more looks with the Peachy Palette !!
Velvet teddy looks great with the Mac liner auburn. It's been my go to combo for fall so far!
Lynn
her news reporter voice I just cant!!
Can't do my dishes without an Emily video playing! You make the chores go easier. Love you!
Thank you so much for this glam eye look without the false lashes! You look beautiful, and I find it so much easier to do...
I could sit and watch you all day. Something about your voice is so soothing and your favorites are always great.
I love this format and the length! I can ACTUALLY get ready with you 😍
Yes! I was rewatching some of your videos just earlier hoping to see you today!!! Ooo I love this idea!!
yay! thanks for watching!!
Take care.
I never would have paired peachy eyes with a red lip, but it looks so great!
Have you tried the W&W setting spray? I swear it’s an almost dupe for the UD All Nighter. It even SMELLS JUST LIKE IT!
This was so fun to watch. You should do your favorites videos like this all the time!
Gosh that lip colour is absolutely stunning on you! Sending well wishes regarding your foot.
Emily's cheeks are literally the best for blush. I love watching her apply blush, it really amazes me what that can do to her face.
I got Black-Brown in lash paradise. I thought the same thing (it dried out really fast too) how weird.
