Bring back the monthly meetings Mentel Health had with Veterans that controlled the meeting. They had a VA representative there, but that was done away with because it worked.. give Veterans a voice and their own medical care give Veterans a voice listen to veterans veterans are crying out for help, and VA is turning their heads while Veterans die in the streets.

But my shit isn’t service connected 🤔 it’s just to keep money in their pockets

The bureaucracy is putting themselves first… finally somebody says it out loud. Veterans have significantly higher standard to justify disability benefits. Seems the SES’s at the VA are willing to work in the grey when it comes to large monetary benefits for themselves.

The absolute worst part is that every single “awardee” knew it was wrong. Every one of these “awardees” does have a critical skill, BUT they are not using them to benefit veterans. Undersecretary Elnahal is a medical doctor, but he is not working in a clinical environment to see patients. Critical skills bonuses should be paid to those who are filling clinical roles and not administrative roles. These executives are very well compensated for their roles. They are not paid what private sector executives make, but they are eligible for a federal pension AND these monstrous bonuses. If these medical professionals want to make private sector salaries then they should leave and fill one of those roles. Stop stealing what should go to others who are using those skills.

Follow-up is that if a veteran is over-paid, the VA will send out the hounds to get that money back. That money is returned to the VBA, the same clowns who awarded themselves these outrageous bonuses for doing their jobs somewhat less than stellarly.

You are correct, these executives get paid well for their work. The VA will say they pay those bonuses for retention purposes, but everyone knows those jokers are going anywhere, and most are not in positions the require a critical skill. Some are not even in “mission essential” positions. So, when the weather is bad, the executives don’t come into work, but the cleaning staff must come in or risk losing their jobs - yet, the cleaning staff might get nothing for a bonus.

Thank you for addressing this issue. Unfortunately, the VA is only one Department. I used to work for a VA facility. I used to process the annual bonuses for the facility. The disparity between the facility executives and other employees is very appalling.
