I fish a lot on my Kayak here in Arkansas...and I watch these videos in awe of how strong and fast even small saltwater fish are.
I love your videos. You do such a great job with filming yourself and editing. Wish I lived closer to some saltwater so I could experience this but till then love living it through your videos. Great work! Keep it up.

appreciate the respect freshwater guys show for the salt. that said, i still think the toughest fighting fish and hardest hitting fish in the world lb for lb is a largemouth bass.

Just a suggestion. Sometimes when the fish are skittish, let your bait drop with no weight (just free spool it). Sometimes the bigger fish are deeper and you can get them to bite. We pulled 3 gaffers off the pots by doing that. Shocked me, couldn't believe we had 3 gaffers

Used to fish Bull Dolphin (aka Mahi-Mahi, Dorado) near Marathon key. We used flying fish caught the nite before on catamaran.
Trick is to hook 1 or two using two sep rods.
reel them in close to boat.
Leave them in the water, and use third rod to bring home the bacon, er, fish.
Mahi are school fish and will not abandon their kin.

I live in what was a remote and pristine valley that is 92% public land. Mahi are one of the fastest growing and most prolific salt water species in the world . They inhabit almost every ocean on earth. Sport fishing and killing some to eat will never harm the population. So before you tell people what to do, know your facts.

Went offshore for the first time on Sunday out of Indian River Inlet. We trolled for a couple of hours and didn't see a fish. We switched to bottom fishing and pulled tilefish in one after the other. Its the most ridiculous method of fishing I've ever done. LOL! Drop down, wait 3 to 30 seconds for the tip to twitch, throw the lever and the electric reel does all the work. I was hoping to hit some pots with light tackle for mahi, but we didn't have time. Next year we are going for tuna.
