@@firstnamelastname8439Funny how you assume living in the wild would be so much more mentally stimulating. An animal in the wild lives only to survive and procreate, and by far most of them fail to achieve both. The majority don't survive to maturity even. The purpose of their life may not change much when put in a zoo, but their chances of fulfilling them certainly increases in the extreme. But sure, if you consider being bored to be worse than a 50-99% chance (depending on species) of dying horribly and painfully before you hit puberty, go right ahead... I'm all for making zoos a lot better than they are. But romanticizing the lifestyle of a wild animal is for fools, life in the wild is harsh and terrible in the extreme. It's not "occasionally get injured or go hungry".

If you have the budget to make a hyper realistic outdoor vr zoo. I dont think any corporate would want to hide that.. they would promote it even more.. and of course charge more.. 😂😂
surely a full-time streamer would know that most people, even really technically illiterate people, can see when something is a screen and they are up close. also the difference between actual black and black on a phone or tv screen is noticeable
That's not evil, it's horrendously bad business. For this you have quite a lot of issues, first of all: the panels, the only way to achieve perfect realism would be to have one gigantic, flexible OLED screen, with a pixel density high enough that individual pixels cannot be seen. I like screens and tend to be quite nitpicky, so I believe that if I can't make out any pixels or jagged edges it is unlikely that many other people can. The bad part about this: even on the screen with the highest pixel density known to me (650ppi) I can see jagged edges, just barely, but they are visible. Next bad thing: when I tried looking up prices for Display substrates, the most useful information I could find was that a 65" Oled costs ~1000$ to manufacture (mind you that is for screens with a ppi of ~110), and switching from rigid to flexible increases the price by ~1.5x But that's not all prices increase exponentially the closer you get to the size of the substrate. The largest currently available substrates are 2290 x 2620 mm, and apparently Oled has a yield of about 50%. That alone means that the cost of a single 2.2 by 2.5 meter panel will be Astronomical, and that panel isn't even remotely close to big enough for a miniature version of the proposed VR zoo. And the bad news don't stop there: the 2290 x 2620 mm substrates are leading edge, you can't buy any larger ones unless you build a factory yourself. I could find information about a BOE factory for 2290 x 2620 mm substrates, and apparently it cost *8.8billion$* and you can be sure that if larger substrates were feasible, companies would build factories for them. There also are some minor issues like the amount of power that OLEDs use, and the fact that they will have to be replaced regularly. And require to be shut off for screen refresh cycles the fact that you have to gather enough footage at a high enough resolution to not only fill all the screens, but also to avoid customers seeing the same scene multiple times. And all the people working on both gathering and cutting the footage, as well as maintenance of your "zoo" would need to all keep quiet about it in order to avoid anyone finding out. Oh and even with the perfect screen it doesn't work as your eyes won't be able to focus on the screen if you get too close, something that can't happen in reality. So in conclusion: you once again end up in a moon landing situation, it's way easier (and cheaper) to go there/bring all the animals into the country where you want to have your zoo, then to fake it.
Actually, besides using lots of electricity, its not bad of a idea. No need for food, no cleaning after the animals and no personal or vets needed. Maybe thats the future. :3
CC in 2015 explaining to Disney her plans for a live-action Lion King remake
Otomos, I've conceived an idea most ingenious!
*sigh* what is it now?...
The multitude tightens its hold, even here...
The otomos had a purpose!
Even in this corner of YT, the Limbus fans are here
The fault lies with you, Yagoo!
this zoo makes Bug Hell look like Disneyland

Scam Zoo is kinda perfect
That sound like how a zoo would be on the world of Blade Runner
Market it as cruelty free and vegan Zoo.
It would technically be augmented reality, not virtual reality. Therefore, they shall be called Augmentimals
ARnimals!
Paying to watch a wild life documentary on tv
1:31 HEY ITS MEEEE
Mom we're on TV!
So you get the worst of both going out of your house to see animals and just watching nature documentaries at home
Pretty good proposition actually. - People actually enjoy watching animals in vZoo and animals stay in natural habitals rather than in enclosures
Hey, at least the idea is probably more humane toward animals than actual zoos
Most zoos are a lot more humane toward animals than life in the wilderness is. Something being natural doesn't intrinsically make it better.
