Finally, I understand the Beatitudes and how they apply to my life. After many years away from the Church, I find myself on the Covenant Path once again and I am so grateful for t his lesson and the peace it has given me to know I am once again on the Straight and Narrow Path that leads to the Tree of LIfe. I have miles to go before I sleep, but I know I am back on the Path. Thank you for both of your beautiful testimonies.
How wonderful for you to bravely share your thoughts about returning to the Covenant Path. It always brings me such joy to hear when people find their way back. I know He loves you and I'm so happy for you. May you always feel loved as you continue on your Path.

As a sinner and feels like I'm drifting away spiritually, I truly needed this spiritual message so bad! Thank you for taking the time to share this message with the world.
Thank you for this wonderful lesson. I am in a dark, lonely place right now. I keep reaching up to my Savior. I am holding on to a very thin knotted rope. Sometimes I often wonder why the Savior bothers with me. But I have come to know that he loves me, flaws and all. Working through those 8 steps is not easy right now. Sometimes, they are easy. I am grateful to you two for the lessons you teach. They give me hope and lighten my world. Thank you again.

First part of this lesson spoke to me straight away - the concept that perfection is faithfulness and loyalty to His covenants; it just brought a sense of relief and peace to my soul. I realise I had been making it harder for myself than it needs be - as stated in the second half, our worst critic or judge is often the person facing us in the mirror. One simply has to follow those 8 Beatitude Steps. Looking back having completed many revolutions, I can testify of its truthfulness, I have certainly been able to better endure persecution and even occasionally with an inner quiet smile in the sure knowledge as all and sunder unleash their rage about me, that "they that be with me are more than they that be with them".
I recently saw a very disturbing video by Al Fox Carraway, a great convert and blessing to the Church, who is moving from Arizona back to New York state because of the criticism she has received for her appearance by fellow church members. She was raised in New York and her lifelong dream was to live in the desert of Arizona. After only a couple of years she is leaving. What a tragic loss for her stake. I can hardly believe that this type of attitude and behavior is in the Church today. However I must remember that our day, yes even our very hour, is mirroring the end of the Nephite civilization and was prophesied. As a convert from England to Utah in 1988 I too was looked down on by the “blue blooded” members with pioneer ancestors. Thankfully I arrived from abroad as a 6 year member with a strong testimony rooted in doctrine and a powerful conversion story. A young teenager who moved to St George from back East confided in me that he felt marginalized because he didn’t have a common surname indicative of pioneer settlers to the region. What a tragedy that such a fine young man had few real friends. What is wrong with us? Do we not understand? I’m a simple person with a simple faith and I take the gospel seriously and God literally. This is not a dress rehearsal but it is the real thing. God will have a righteous people and will feel after our very heart strings if necessary. Let us remember that not only do we have absolutely no right to condemn, but the only reason we need to forgive is because we have condemned in the first place. Inasmuch as we do this unto the least of these our brethren we do it unto Christ. Empathy. Mercy. Charity.
Wow... That is something l could never have imagined. I suppose pride comes in all guises including pioneer heritage snobbery. Sporting an African name such as mine so far removed from Smith, Taylor, Brigham and the likes, might as well turn in my T-Recommend and give up now!!! :-)
@@roseakinsemoyin2687 No don’t do that! We need you. I am writing a book on overcoming rejection permanently. If any member of this Church behaves so unseemly it simply reflects the condition of their heart and has nothing whatsoever to do with you or me. 😇

@@sungirl302 Thank you very much. I went to college in Bath, Somerset and lived there 7 years. I went to Bristol many times. I love the West Country and was born in Yorkshire.
Thank you so much bro. Taylor for enrichment and insight of that word "perfect" I never learn this in my entire life, now I know. Thank you also bro. Tyler. You both are always doing great! I love to learn from you and the Spirit!
Thank you for your wonderful commentaries. Through a recent trial I received this insight: To not forgive another (or self) is to deny the atonement of Christ, for who am I to not forgive someone He has forgiven or is yet willing to forgive. He suffered for all, and promises to "remember their sins no more" when they repent, so why should I dwell on their offenses, withholding mercy? None have descended so far as to put themselves out of the reach of the possibility of His complete forgiveness. Therefore I must also be merciful.
I have really enjoyed this lesson, sometimes the Scriptures can seem over complicated but this lesson made the lifelong process of walking along the covenant path achievable. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for these inspiring insights. I listen weekly and love them. I learn so much, especially how they relate to my life. This week’s is one of my life changing favorites.
I love the lessons you give for us. The lessons are wonderful and I especially like the insight into meaning of words and how they relate to the old world (Greek, Egyptian, and Hebrew) they make thing so much clearer and brings a better understanding to The Book of Mormon.
This is so amazing!!! So marvelous. Thank you for the team who films, edits, and gets this knowledge online. Thank you for the professors who have trained themselves and studied these facts and chose to teach, share, and educate all who will listen. Much love from this grateful heart in PA, USA.
Thank you for this lesson. I too felt that the beatitudes were just jumbled up random quips. Thank you for putting them together in such a beautiful way. I truly felt the spirit as you brought it together as a progression and a process.
“...that person’s badness is greater than Thy goodness...” SMH 🤦🏽♀️ of course! That is so characteristic of our unforgiveness. And thank you for your explanation of perfection ❤️
We are loving these videos. The insights into the depths of the scriptures are a tremendous help into seeing what is happening all around the individuals. This is a highlight to our week. Even being lifelong members, including Bishop twice, Stake presidency, Missionary and Service Mission Leaders..... You are teaching in a way that has opened our eyes. Thank you from our hearts. Please don't stop. Will you be able to carry this through next years curriculum of the D&C?
@@taylorhalverson3052 You have made my day!!! Thank You. We found these videos and started using them to fill-in for Come Follow Me Sunday School lessons each week since March. We too were hoping and praying you would continue into next year. We enjoy them very much and will continue watching even after the Covid meeting ban is lifted.
Thank you for this week's lesson. Recently I've been going through a really rough divorce - and I feel like this lesson was tailored especially for me. Forgiving my ex, and more importantly, forgiving myself is something I needed to hear. The covenants taken are a gentle reminder of me to stop worrying about my future, to allow Him to work and fulfill his promises. But that staircase though - I get tired just looking at it 😁
Many blessings to you. The Lord's love is sufficient for the pain! So sorry about the pain you have experienced. Your pursuit of living the gospel is inspiring.
Great insights this week especially with this Scripture Block. Matt 5:48 has always been a tough scripture to explain to Seminary students and family. However, Taylor your explanation of being PERFECT=LOYAL & FAITHFUL in Covenant Context really resonated !! The "Beautiful Attitudes" comparison between the Sermon on the Mount to the Sermon at the Temple was very insightful. Truly, The Beatitudes represent our Constitution for a better life as we move forward along the Covenant Path.
"Who come unto me" makes such a difference to one of the beatitudes. If you add it to all of them, it makes at least as much difference to each. At each step we must come to him for the blessing.
Tyler andTaylor last week, I was blessed with the opportunity to address a high council / stake mission presidency council(by ZOOM) and I found it so easy to incorporate the lessons that you have taught me and the principals that you led me to find and live in the Gospels (that was well received) .THANK YOU, BLESS YOU BOTH!!!--rick
Bless you and thanks for your outstanding service. Todays lesson in 3 Nephi about the teachings of Christ was wonderful. As a temple ordinance worker these teachings become clearer to me. This year we are of course celebrating the Restoratiion of the Gospel in general. But this lesson brought to my mind the larger Restoration of all things, most importantly the Restoration of the Abrahamic Covenant including the Right to the Priesthood. Going forward I would like to hear more about them.
I thoroughly enjoy these lessons each week-always so thought provoking and inspiring! I especially liked hearing more from Taylor this week-you’re both such great teachers! Thank you!
Thank you very much. I keep telling myself don’t judge myself, feel guilty etc that what if I could had done better, but I realized My Savior always there for me, I just listen still small voice and knowing he knows me and help me to get through my broken heart, keep my covenants and all thing will be well. I’m better each day. Your lesson really uplifting for me today., I really had a hard time this week.😍👏
How beautiful this lesson was! Again It was a joy and a sacred moment I ´ve been having every Sunday, besides partaking the Sacrament. Thanks to our Heavenly Father who inspires both of you to help us wlak in the Covenant Path. MUITO OBRIGADA!
One of the best lessons on fasting I ever seen and lesson on what God wants us to do vs what I want to do. Learned so much in this lesson from beginning to end.
Thank you so much for the beautiful lesson! Your approach to teaching the scriptures is wonderful and enlightening. I look forward to your presentation every week. It helps to remind me to stay more faithfully on the Covenant Path!
I've always felt like you originally about the beautitudes. You have helped me so much seeing it as a progression. Now I understand more what Christ meant❤️. And I really loved Taylor's explanations in the beginning, how Matthew mirrors. Just so thankful for these amazing insights. I can't express it enough
My initial reaction, "Man-oh-man-oh-man, is this good!" I will pray that more find you...it's the message this world needs. I see so much more clearly how to "Come Unto Christ"... Thank you!!
Thanks for your time and effort into bringing us the awesome insights to the Book of Mormon. I’ve enjoyed all your lessons. I didn’t start at the beginning so I’ve started with 1 Nephi. So grateful that you will be teaching D & C. You’ve strengthened my testimony. You guys bring the scriptures to life for me. Thank you again.
Thank you both! I love the Covenant Path connection to these chapters. It gives much more perspective and meaning to the whole Sermon on the Mount...or by the Temple for the Book of Mormon people. I feel very spiritually fed!
I am anxiously awaiting 3 Nephi 17-19. Actually i am ready to move on to chapters 20-26. But without your insights I am hesitant. I am sure there are things I missed and I do want to get all I can out of this study opportunity. So, I hope it is coming soon! I loved the historical review of the Prophets. Very timely and inspired for Conference preparation!
I loved your sock puppet story about flesh vs spirit with your son. I wished I had done more of this with my kids. Counseling with your kids often is so important and I learned that too late for some of my children.
i loved this lesson and loved your antics about which group you were in . I chuckled at that thought . love your lessons, you bring them so down to earth
Thanks guys for the insights. I have really struggled with the word faith or what it means to be faithful. No matter it seemed if I read it from the BD or any other book or article or talk the word loyal has never entered my mind. This lesson really helps lot.
yes, it does. But it also has a covenantal context that means "loyal". And most instances of the word "perfect" in scripture use the covenantal meaning of "loyal."
Oh my goodness! This was a POWERFUL lesson! Thank you!! I need to listen again to get more of it. Also I had an old Bishop who taught that whenever you get hungry while fasting, turn that around and use it as a reminder of what you are fasting for (pretty much what you said too!). As I’ve used this ‘technic’ over the years, I have found that it has helped me fast with more purpose and more focus and remember better that I am not just going without food but there is a reason for it.
Muito obrigado Taylor, pela explanação. Sempre vi o sermão da montanha e as beatitudes bem simples de se entender e de se repetir nas Américas. Os lamanitas foram leais e fieis a suas esposas e a seus convênios com Deus. Fico feliz pelo povo de Deus desses dias, por termos o livro de Mórmon, pelos profetas vivos e por ninguém matar os profetas a terra estar livre de uma maldição e vivendo os sinais da segunda vinda com grandes expectativas.

I love the lessons you give for us. The lessons are wonderful and I especially like the insight into meaning of words and how they relate to the old world (Greek, Egyptian, and Hebrew) they make thing so much clearer and brings a better understanding to The Book of Mormon.
Thanks for this feedback!
What a blessing you both are to me. Your insight is stunning. You’ve had the answers I’ve needed during this worthless lousy quarantine!
So True! Both Amazing Gospel Teachers!
Thank you Bryan!
me toooo!!
The quarantine is not worthless. Its saving lives!!!!
Laura Miranda sorry but you read politics into my comment about personal frustrations of being isolated from serving my mission
This is so amazing!!! So marvelous. Thank you for the team who films, edits, and gets this knowledge online. Thank you for the professors who have trained themselves and studied these facts and chose to teach, share, and educate all who will listen. Much love from this grateful heart in PA, USA.
Thank you for this kind note Kathery!
I love it thank you guys for your wisdom and great strength with all your added experiences. It is not easy to keep serving and loving..
We appreciate the support!
Thank you for this lesson. I too felt that the beatitudes were just jumbled up random quips. Thank you for putting them together in such a beautiful way. I truly felt the spirit as you brought it together as a progression and a process.
Beautiful note, thanks for sharing.
I appreciated Taylor's opening remarks about the Abraham Covenant and Mosaic covenant and God's updates
Glad that was helpful! :)
This teaching is SOOOO AMAZING, I'm glad I found it. I wish I could have founded before.
“...that person’s badness is greater than Thy goodness...” SMH 🤦🏽♀️ of course! That is so characteristic of our unforgiveness. And thank you for your explanation of perfection ❤️
You are most welcome!
Thank you Donna. We plan to continue with the D&C year. :)
@@taylorhalverson3052 This just made my day perfect!! Thank you so much. We know this takes hours from your 24 hours a day.
Thank you Blake!!
@@taylorhalverson3052 The T&T Brothers remain the Gold Standard for Book of Mormon commentary !!
Thank you, brothers. You insights are wonderfully uplifting.
Thank you Richard for your weekly support!
"Who come unto me" makes such a difference to one of the beatitudes. If you add it to all of them, it makes at least as much difference to each. At each step we must come to him for the blessing.
Amen
Tyler andTaylor last week, I was blessed with the opportunity to address a high council / stake mission presidency council(by ZOOM) and I found it so easy to incorporate the lessons that you have taught me and the principals that you led me to find and live in the Gospels (that was well received) .THANK YOU, BLESS YOU BOTH!!!--rick
Thanks for letting us know, Rick!
This section is so powerful! Thanks for breaking this down for me.

Thank you Melinda!
Enjoyed immensely hearing from both of you. Each opened my eyes to great insights. Thank you very much!
You bet!
Thank you for this beautiful note!
ANOTHER great lesson! I especially loved the teaching of the Beatitudes in a progression context. ♥️
Glad you loved this!

Awesome!
I’ve never loved the Beatitudes more! Thank you for this new perspective!
Glad to hear this!
I loved your lesson. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach others.

Thank you, I always look forward to your lessons, this one was inspiring, as usual.
We always look forward to making these!
I've always felt like you originally about the beautitudes. You have helped me so much seeing it as a progression. Now I understand more what Christ meant❤️. And I really loved Taylor's explanations in the beginning, how Matthew mirrors. Just so thankful for these amazing insights. I can't express it enough
You are welcome!
Brothers Taylor and Tyler...... wonderful lessons. I always learn something. Thankyou. Love you guys.

Always great to hear from you Lana!
My initial reaction, "Man-oh-man-oh-man, is this good!" I will pray that more find you...it's the message this world needs. I see so much more clearly how to "Come Unto Christ"... Thank you!!
You are welcome Eileen!
Thanks for all your insights and ways to teach our classes and families.
Thank you Teresa!
Loyalty teaching makes good sense. Useful sense. Thank You for that perspective and how your lesson helps me remove my beams. 🙂
Thanks for your insights!
I have enjoyed your lessons and learn so much that I have been sharing them with member and nonmember friends. Thank you and God bless!
Thanks for sharing this kind note!
Appreciate the both of you. Thanks
And we appreciate you!
Thank you my brothers! It's so good to lissen to you. Greetings from Belgium
Thank you for your regular support!
This has been our hope and dream!
Thank u again! I love how u help me understand his ways. U have given me a greater steadfast in Christ.😉
That is one of our hopes!
Thank you both! I love the Covenant Path connection to these chapters. It gives much more perspective and meaning to the whole Sermon on the Mount...or by the Temple for the Book of Mormon people. I feel very spiritually fed!
The gospel is amazing! Keep on pursuing learning. :)
We'll be releasing soon!
Thanks again for sharing us about the covenant path towards perfection
Glad this was valuable to you! Lots of great ideas.
Thank you, it is the best spent hour a week to learn from you.
Thank you Jan!
I loved your sock puppet story about flesh vs spirit with your son. I wished I had done more of this with my kids. Counseling with your kids often is so important and I learned that too late for some of my children.
Thank you for your note and we pray that it is never too late for anyone or any of us!
Awesome thank you for sharing and giving me an understanding of the Lords Laws & Light
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this!! Just what I needed today! Simply fantastic.
Great to have you here!
i loved this lesson and loved your antics about which group you were in . I chuckled at that thought . love your lessons, you bring them so down to earth
:)
You guys do such a great job. Thank You..Thank You for teaching us.
You are awesome Marylyne! Thank you for who you are! :)
Great lesson and incredible teaching! Thank you so much! Tyler and Taylor's good job! well done! love it
Thanks Lola!
Thanks guys for the insights. I have really struggled with the word faith or what it means to be faithful. No matter it seemed if I read it from the BD or any other book or article or talk the word loyal has never entered my mind. This lesson really helps lot.
Great to know this Gerald!
Thank you. This is wonderful! 💕
Beautiful to hear this!
Thank you so very much for today’s lessons.....
You are welcome!
New insight. I’ve always thought perfect meant complete.
yes, it does.
Thanks for the idea!
Thank you very much for this I have benefited a lot
Awesome!
Thanks for your work it's a blessing in me
:)
Awesome lesson
Thank you Helenice!
Muito obrigado Taylor, pela explanação.
Sempre vi o sermão da montanha e as beatitudes bem simples de se entender e de se repetir nas Américas. Os lamanitas foram leais e fieis a suas esposas e a seus convênios com Deus. Fico feliz pelo povo de Deus desses dias, por termos o livro de Mórmon, pelos profetas vivos e por ninguém matar os profetas a terra estar livre de uma maldição e vivendo os sinais da segunda vinda com grandes expectativas.
Loved it! Thank you both!
Excellent!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
We love to share!
These are Phenomenal.
Great revelations come from this knowledge... I HAVE A book I want to write that is exactly about this subject about discipleship.. and the Be Attitudes... I didn't know how to out it together and now with this it is knowledge the windows of heaven are open!!
thank you to n you both!!
love to take a Cruise with u Tyler!! God has blessed us all with You TWO!!
thank you for being in tuned!!
I know these things are true!!
Be blessed always!!!
My recommendation for writing is make a plan to set aside 30-60 minutes a day. Have a goal to write without distraction during that time. If you do, you'll have your writing done in about 2 or 3 months!
