REO Brothers: More Than A Cover Band I’ve been watching lately videos on UA-cam and Facebook of a family band called REO Brothers from the Philippines covering popular music from the 60’s, 70’s, and the 80’s. The band is composed of four brothers (sometimes 5) from Tacloban City from the Visayas region of the Philippines. Their covers of popular songs of The Bee Gees, America, Simon & Garfunkel , Cliff Richards, etc. are really well made and totally enjoyable. But their covers of Beatles songs are the ones who really got me hooked on these young men. Having came of age in the early part of the 80’s and having been exposed to the sound of The Beatles through my good high school friends, I could tell you that this group really captured that special sound that made The Beatles one of the best rock and roll bands of all time. The soaring and tight harmonies are really outstanding and if you are an avid Beatles fan you will know that they really worked hard to capture the nuances of each song. And knowing their humble beginnings you will love them more. I will not bore you with all the details on how they started but a quick google search will lead you to believe that they indeed deserve all the success they are enjoying right now. It is easy to dismiss them as a mere cover band but the hard work they put on every song is really remarkable. Those tight harmonies and playing the instruments very close to the original for sure did not come by accident. It can only come from long hours of research and practice. Many have natural born talents but it will take hard work and dedication to harness them into good use. These young men are indeed testaments to the power of dogged perseverance. I will be a fan for a long time.

The brothers' rendition of "If I Fell" never fails to give me the chills no matter how many times I listen to it. Love all their covers but there are quite a few that are very special and magical, IIF is one of them.

1st time i heard their song "I saw her standing there" in 1960s in the Manila i was curious who's that group and found out the Beatles from England! I'm now 74 yrs old i still love their songs vry much!!...Jesse, Glendale,CA

Yeah, on the Stereo Remaster from 2009 you can hear Paul really cut one of the lines short, it actually sounds pretty rough (can't tell on the mono remaster though). There's an outtake where John mentions how hard the song is to sing, I believe.
If I Fell, my favorite. I don't know about the 2009 remaster mentioned above, but the harmony never fails to astonish me - this in addition to the rest of the collective talent of the Beatles. There will never be another time that a group like the Beatles could emerge. How lucky we are. I cannot think how less rich our lives wold be without them.
As a sometimes professional musica for 60+ years, since the Beatles came to the world, you are the most accurate and musical corvers. Congratulation for your huge talents!

I admit they are good but they would even say they aren’t comparable to the Beatles vocally or instrumentality. The Fab Four come the closest but the originals there is and never will be any one ever to touch them and the talent they possessed.
When you're a good note for note, beat for beat Beatle band it says a lot to their loving fans, but when guys like Reo Brothers can capture the magic vibe like they do, it's because they feel, respect & love that magic The Beatles gave us. No doubt about it, these boys are extraordinary & absolutely outstanding!!!!
I didn't really "grow up" with the Beatles, but being 50 puts me way ahead (in years) of these boys. There have been hundreds of bands I know who copied the Fav 4, and the closest was the Beatlemania, until the REO brothers came... Musically, these boys right here are the closest you'll ever get to the real thing.

I've always liked If I Fell. Just goosebumps... It's 1:30AM here. UA-cam finally put you guys in my "recommended" maybe an hour ago. Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Beatles, Beach Boys... You guys are good. It's nice to hear the old songs done by young groups.
There are many musicians who cover The Beatles, but they are great musicians who have a good impression of their singing and playing without any quirks!! And above all, their performance feels respect for The Beatles
Dixie I can say almost close to perfection.The vocal harmonies,the blending, the instruments note for note deliberation.They’ve done it almost 95% ...that’s my grading system....what can I do....that’s it..

You guys are introducing these wonderful tunes of yesteryears to the new generation. Now they realize how freakin great were the music then. … compare to todays, all screamin’ and and everything ( there are some good though) but our generations music was and still the great ones.

The strength of their band is that all of them are individually strong and yet the most important thing is their collective sound-the same as with The Beatles.
I can’t move on from my addiction to these lovely siblings. Since the end of their US TOUR, everyday i tune in to their video playlist, here at home, there in my workplace and everywhere.

Those harmonies on "If I Fell," wow! Even The Beatles had trouble recording that track.
I thought those high notes in chorus of if i fell were paul`s. And lower notes were john's. Correct me if i'm wrong.

There are many musicians who cover The Beatles, but they are great musicians who have a good impression of their singing and playing without any quirks!! And above all, their performance feels respect for The Beatles

Their music of course is beautiful; but it strikes that their PERFECTION is as a group, always exquisite.

Dixie I can say almost close to perfection.The vocal harmonies,the blending, the instruments note for note deliberation.They’ve done it almost 95% ...that’s my grading system....what can I do....that’s it..

You guys are introducing these wonderful tunes of yesteryears to the new generation. Now they realize how freakin great were the music then. … compare to todays, all screamin’ and and everything ( there are some good though) but our generations music was and still the great ones.

I love the Beatles and I've always had tears in my eyes with the Beatles ,but I also had tears in my eyes because it's sung so great and touching .I don't touch anything so quickly ,except Elvis ,Beatles ,and Julian Lennon from John ,where I also have tears .Wow you have managed to touch hearts ,I wish you very good luck ,health and love in your whole life .
