The question of spiritual warfare importance came up at 36:51. I have come to suspect that every negative/destructive thought, feeling and desire comes from the darkness below and every positive/constructive thought, feeling and desire comes from the light above. We each get to exercise our free will by either believing and receiving or disbelieving and rejecting them.
I believe that my life has improved since I started resisting and rejecting the negative, destructive ones and receiving and embracing the positive ones such as the promises to us in God’s Word. I would say that this aspect of spiritual warfare is extremely important.

100% this is what I am learning as well. It can be tricky spotting the negative thoughts especially if they are connected with the way your family thought or the way that you were trained to think while outside the faith. Keep asking God to show you which thoughts should be captured!

It’s strange to think what people think of as “medieval” is a complete recycling of events era after era. We think spirituality is medieval and now New Age practices are on the rise, we label witchcraft as medieval and witchcraft is on the rise with spells for kids marketed in popular magazines, then idol worship - enduring throughout the ages marketed in different religions, nature worship…and then the concept of the Devil - marketed in a cartoonish way as a cool trend by Hollywood and every other corporation. It’s disturbing how enduring these practices are, if people took time to research it, sooner or later people who are perceptive will start to question what exactly is going on and if there isn’t something darker beneath the surface of it all.
Mankind in general, especially in the western countries, are too busy worshipping self or mammon to question motives or the driving force behind much of art, music, Hollywood, politicians, and world leaders. in the endtime good would be called evil and evil good.... here we are.. mankind is past feeling, given over by God to lust, to depravity, and perversion. we can only pray for God's mercy that the veil will be removed.

If you are a Christian the Bible explains the fight and Jesus teaches us how to war against satan and his kingdom.. watch UA-cam videos on deliverance and spiritual warfare.. @@dirtydevil It’s definitely happening even if you don’t see it. I used to be an atheist and I see now that a lot of my past experiences were spiritually involved.
@@dirtydevil More like it was hiding in plain sight. I had convinced myself that there was nothing more to it but in retrospect there definitely was. It was kinda like going 200mph down the highway, but you don’t notice that it’s dangerous because everybody else is going 200mph. Because my surroundings had normalized certain things I didn’t notice them as evil or spiritually involved. Like I said though, looking back there definitely was a lot of forces at play.

I’m an atheist and I found this extremely unconvincing. Still no confirmation of anything paranormal ever happening. I would like to here more about his study of psychokinesis. He is convinced that is real as well even though there are absolutely no studies that suggest this is true.

Love Dr. Paul 🙌🏼 not only is he a brilliant, rational thinker, I can personally attest that he is truly one of the most genuinely loving humans on the planet. He was my confirmation sponsor when I entered into the Catholic Church this past May. Dismissing his experience with the supernatural as mental illness is AN argument, it’s just not a good one. A materialist atheist/agnostic with little to no religious imagination is suddenly overcome by some seemingly external force while he maintains lucidity and is able to rationally think and choose a religious solution (look to the cross). This seems inconsistent with most accounts of psychosis. A non-materialistic, supernatural explanation seems much more plausible.
It isn’t at all inconsistent with psychosis. People who are mentally ill frequently experience sensations similar to those described. It would also be a mistake to assume that this gentleman is accurately describing his experience.

@@davethebrahman9870 that's a fair point that, if it is psychosis, maybe he's not able to describe the experience accurately. I'm still not convinced that this is consistent with other accounts of mental breaks; from the accounts I've read/seen, they are much less coherent. At the same time, this experience is similar to hundreds of other accounts of demonic possessions in which mental illness was ruled out by medical professionals.
Not experiencing something doesn't rule it out; you once heard about "having kids" and maybe compared that to a pet or a niece but that isn't even on the spectrum of comparison to having the rubber on the road.

Fr Carlos Martin speaks of "The Fifth Gospel". That is the gospel that is preached by the devil.
He said 63% of young peoole believe that is possible to become bodily possessed. Thus in effect the devil is a convincing preacher of the reality of God or the spiritual reality of God.
Diabolical signs or sounds are very convincing.

The best and safest thing that you could do right about now is to follow the good Dr's example, humble yourself, get down on your knees and pray to God for boatloads of wisdom. Idk about the whole “God sends the saints out on missions for us” part. I genuinely dont know if thats true or not, Jesus never said anything about that happening when believers get to Heaven. I always have a hard time with a lot of Catholic beliefs because they use the Apostles and Mary as “mediators” but Jesus clearly says HE is the ONLY mediator between us and the Father. So idk about the whole Saints going on missions for us. It could be true, but I stick to what Jesus strictly said until I get to Heaven to see the full scope lol.

Really enjoyed this interview with Dr. Thigpen but I have to correct his explanation about what demons are.
Demons, are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim. The Nephelim are the offspring of the relations between fallen angels & human women as stated in Genesis 6:2 "That the sons of God (the fallen angels) saw that the daughters of men were fair; and took them wives of all which they chose."
Genesis 6:4 goes on to say "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men if renown."
Civil wars and the flood of Noah resulted in the death of the Nephilim and what we know today as demons.
The Bible does not support that angels are pure spirit. The description of Lucifer described an angelic being. Their powers make them able to disappear and change form, but there is nothing to suggest that they do not have some type of body (unlike our physical ones, of course). And no, the demons nor Satan have the power of omniscience where they can't know our thoughts. That is only God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And the bible does not support that people go to heaven or hell at death, this is what Jesus 2nd coming is for. Please read your bibles and ask the Holy Spirit for clarification about everything.
I'd ask you to do the same my friend. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The thief who was saved shortly before dying beside the Lord, was with the Lord that day in paradise. The Lord met with Moses and Elijah on the mount of transfiguration. They were dead centuries before that moment. John saw saints in heaven dueing his blessed vision, which occurred before the second coming bc the Lord was still dealing with the tribulation period, so they were all still in heaven. Elijah and Enoch were both taken to heaven before the 2nd coming. There are too many holes in your theories, and they aren't supported by God's word. Continue to pray and study. We all must do that our whole lives.

No, the Bible states in Hebrews that the ANGELS are ministering to believers, NOT those who have already died.
And it is Jesus Himself (in coordination with the Holy Spirit) who intercedes for us, NOT Mary or the saints.

one day, while watching a movie (the theater was packed 1/4th full), i was all by my lonesome in the upper seat area
there's no one around me
15 minutes into the movie, i noticed that the box of pizza i had just bought was levitating (up in the air for around 20 inches or so, from where i placed it)
slowly, it returned to its original place and was shaking a bit
i could see it by my bare eyes
i was extremely scared that i panicked
my thoughts was rushing in with suggestions that i'd run away, if not, sit near where people were seated
i was soooo scared
surprisingly, 2 minutes after, i had decided to stay for the whole duration of the movie
i wanted to verify if what i'd just seen was real or not (a trick or something)
i noticed that the box of pizza kept moving and sometimes it was shaking
maybe 5 times or more for the whole 2 hours or so
i was able to confirm that what i had just experienced was a supernatural or paranormal activity
i wished i had seen the ghostly being or the spiritual entity; sadly, i didn't
btw, the movie theater was a bit of a brand new one, that's why i didn't expect to have experienced something like that

Be careful what you wish for. Human beings do not get to stay on earth after dying! So, the ONLY beings that can interact with us supernaturally outside of the Lord Jesus are angels and demons. That's it! Human souls are immediately taken to their destination upon death. Most lift up their eyes in hell, the others are taken to heaven bc they were saved by their faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us during their lives. There are no such things as ghosts, like we usually think of them. Most spiritual activities that we encounter are bad spirits. They're liars, manipulative, evil, and do whatever they can to get you to do what they want! They pretend to be loved ones, children, nice, and other things. But you should stay away and rebuke them in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. They know exactly who God is, and they don't play with Him! So, you're seeing something? Even something nice or non-threatening? Command them to stop and leave you alone in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't know what is going on? Ask them to say that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh. They won't do that. Ask Jesus to protect you. He's the one who cares most for you. He's your creator. It's so sad that most humans have no idea about who He is and how much He loves them. He loves you so much that He died so that you can stay out of hell and be with Him for the rest of eternity. Can you say that about anyone else?

Brain is one part of it. Then there’s the spirit body, and the soul… what does the material part have to do with it?
Supernatural strength happened in his brain? Levitation happened in his brain?
Every experience you ecperience happens inside your brain.
When the same experience from multiple people's experiences ( internal representations of ' filtered extern reality' ) we then label that as "real."
The Phoenix Lights were seen by hundreds, and military flares do not move slowly in formation over a 40+mile path over 20 minutes, and police officers are considered reliable witnesses.

Idk how do you know love is real? Can you measure love? Fear? I was staying in a friends house when I was a kid and got attacked by a black freaking mist. It enveloped me and wouldn’t let me go and I was so terrified I couldn’t even speak. And it ‘lived’ in the bathroom of that house. Don’t ask me how I knew that because I don’t even know how I knew that… Anyways after a night that felt like an eternity I got out of that house and never went back. A few months later my friend who lived at the house told me that the previous owner shot and killed himself in that bathroom and that he didn’t tell me because he didn’t want me to be scared. Then he told me that after that night that I was there all the weird stuff that had been going on in his house stopped. He said the toilet lid used to slam at the same time every night. He used to hear nails taking down the hallways. Whispers.
An Angel shielded me that night. Took me to this deep place within my mind and shielded me and then whatever it was that was attacking me got burned off of me. It wasn’t a cherub like angel wearing robes and and smiling. It was like a warrior.
Something like that can’t be measured. But my life was changed forever.
@@AyanamarieC both love and fear can be shown in brain scans. You described a "deep place within (your) mind". Is it not possible that what you experienced was a result of reactions in your brain?
If God is in control of everything (which implies will), then it is the case that whatever occurs IS God's will. Thus, every horror is also God's will just as every element that is decent is God's will. This of course has the implication that every claim of God being omnibenevolent is false given that horrors are also God's will; which is incoherent and thus false. So, while I can feel for those who have a traumatic experience, ascribing/attributing God as commonly claimed to such is wholly vacuous.

If one is in control of everything, then if follows that EVERY state of affairs is also a consequence of that one. Are you rejecting this idea? If so, why?
The claim of being omnibenevolent and omnipotent is dismissed IF one fails to address ANY ill that one could address. Thus. ANY instance of cancer being unaddressed is a dismissal of the idea of an entity possessing such attributes. Are you rejecting this idea? If so, why?
Or are you having an issue with the term horror such as the horror of a worm eating an individual's eye? Or the horror of a mother watching their child die from cancer?

God gave us free will. Every horror is committed by the person who chose to commit it. It’s why we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Who died for us in the most horrific way because he was carrying OUR sins which are horrific. We did not deserve it. We are so loved it’s pitiful.

My understanding of the concept God denotes at minimum the idea of a non-contingent intelligent agent. This is an impossibility within the context of what is currently known due to intelligence being developmental and thus NOT an option as something that is foundational.
I find the claim of a free will to be a falsehood due to understanding that our will is TETHERED to our genetics and experiences and thus NOT free.
Thus, at the moment of any decision, there was only one option as a byproduct of our experiences and the resultant understanding at the moment the decision was made.
Voltaire is such a mediocre philosopher. All of his ideas were articulated more precisely by better and more virtuous men who had better worldviews.

The saints are ANYONE who believes in and trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ and belongs to Him. I'm a saved child of God, so I am a saint. And that goes for everyone. No man can ever decide who a saint is.
Pastor John Barnett has a wonderful teaching series called, "Why I'm not catholic, " and he objectively and lovingly walks us through comparing the catholic church and their traditions and beliefs to God's word, helping us to make up our own minds after seeing the words in our own Bibles. Makes sense.

As a Protestant I believe that if you focus on Jesus, you don't need any magic rituals to drive away evil, because God's power is immense and lives in us through his Spirit. I had an experience last Saturday that strengthened my idea - I was was praying on my way to my language school here in Japan that the power of Jesus flows through me wherever he wants that day, not something I normally pray, wasn't even sure why it popped up in my mind. My second class was for three to four year olds. One of the kiddies came in with his tongue out. It was bizarre, because it remained like that for quite some time. A kid that age wouldn't keep his tongue out for that long, it would start feeling dry and uncomfortable, but I was too busy to think about reasons. Then that disappeared, but he went into a trance and wasn't reacting to anything or anybody at all, just sitting there with his eyes glazed over. At the end of the lesson he walked to me and threw himself across the table in front of me while I was reading a story. It was annoying as the other kids couldn't see, so I tried to pull him back. The moment I touched his back he started manifesting the way I've heard demonised people sometimes do: convulsing and growling like an animal, so severely that I thought he was going to throw up. Fortunately that didn't happen, but there was a puddle of spit on the table afterwards. Strange thing is, I would normally feel upset and react, maybe go out to ask the Japanese staff to help and give support in the kid's language if they act weirdly, but I felt completely calm and in control. I just kept my hand on his back, the other kids watching in astonishment, and his strange behaviour disappeared completely. He was back to his normal self, except that he seemed less troubled and happier than ever before. I have thought before I hope God will keep me away from people with demons, because I wouldn't know what to do. But really, this experience was like, oh, it's nothing. Before the power of Jesus it's all just nothing. Either that, or the kid just was weird that morning, but that weird? I think I know kids, have worked with them all my life.
I am concerned about the way some of the Catholic priests think they can communicate with demons and even learn theology and mariology from them... he's the father of all lies.
About your last sentence. In the exorcism ritual itself it is demanded of the demons to say their names and how many are there, and they have to obey and tell the truth because they are creatures under God whether they like it or not. They are under authority, so the father of lies has to fold as do as he is told. As to theological points they might say or be compelled to state, normally the exorcists can find that the same things where already said by some Church doctor or Church Father, so the demons dont bring any new theology.

Your “belief” as Protestant is the general rejection of Church authority, therefore, your position is not surprising.
You misunderstand and are misrepresenting Catholicism. Most exorcists say you don't even need an exorcism to dispell demonic influences. Exorcism is like going to the ER instead of your doctor and self-care. Please educate yourself on the matter. God bless 🙏

Your concern is well intentioned, and it is appreciated. But, please do not be concerned. Our beloved Lord gave priests this authority. You have something in common with them, that is that your faith is put in Christ as THE CENTER of an exorcism. Nothing happens without His permission. The problem is that you are putting too much empahsis on the priest and forgetting that JESUS is there and that He is the one who demons listen to. Demons can be forced by JESUS CHRIST Himself to speak Truth, since a priest is just a tool in His hands.

Read "The People of the Lie," by M. Scott Peck, MD. (psychiatrist) an analysis of evil, what it is, how to recognize it. The last chapter or two address what can only be described as another personality replacing the dominant, an this new "entity" is evil.

Why do people undermine God’s word?
It clearly says that “God is not a man, nor the son of man” (Numbers 23:19), meaning God was never born of a human in ANY way. In John 17:3, Jesus says when he prays to the Father “you are the only true God”; in John 12:49-50, Jesus clearly says that he only speaks what the Father commands of him; in John 5:26, Jesus states that God has GIVEN him life. Jesus is the son of man; God is not (and never has been) of man. God himself has never come down in the flesh; His power and spirit is everywhere. God remains in heaven just as Jesus always said (Matthew 7:21).

My Jesus story is I was messing around In a car during the summer I was only like 5 years old and I got trapped inside. Couldn’t get the doors open and it was getting really hot and nobody knew I was in there. My father is deaf and was grilling about 30 feet over but had no idea because he couldn’t hear me banging and screaming. I was so scared and it was getting so hot and I remember I prayed to Jesus and the second that it did my father looked over and saved me. I remember I puked when I got out of there. Also it wasn’t my parents fault I was in the car so don’t get the wrong idea and the whole thing probably wasn’t more than 5 minutes haha maybe a little longer idek. But yeah coincidence or not the exact second I prayed my dad randomly turned his head and saw me freaking tf out in the car lol
