I have about 200 feet line to run and I will only be putting 15 watts total on that line. Can I use 18/2 to cut costs? I wasn't sure if those smaller cables have a limitation on distance regardless of wattage..

I have 4 palm trees in front of house, 2 palm trees are about 2 feet away from house and the other two about 10ft away.
I saw these wifi lights that are on a long cable and have outlets along cable to plug in more lights. This guy mounted them along the house on the wall though not on ground and they look so cool. So IAM debating between just illuminating my front yard palm trees or should I illuminate the house walls instead and should i go with low voltage lights and a transformer or just wi fi plug in lights that I can control with google or alexa?

There are so many ways to control outdoor low voltage light systems via a smart device. We have seen smart plugs inside our MT transformer housings that control the time it turns all the lights on or off. One of the advantages of using low voltage is that there are typically no local codes that require a permit for installation and being at only 12volts it is much more safe than your household line voltage for outdoor use. Hopefully this helps you in deciding which direction you want to go with your lights :)

Sorry to hear our video wasn't helpful. Since placement is super subjective, I would recommend lighting up trees, bushes or some object you would like to bring attention to with a spot light as spot lights are more for accenting and can typically be adjusted to tilt up or down. Since there are a variety of spot light beam spreads, some narrow and others more wide, playing around with the light and how it looks on the objects you want lit is a great way to get the look you're after. You can use the techniques in this video to do just that! Hope this helps 🙂
