Do you charge multicell batteries under the charge mode or balance mode to 4.2 per cel? Can’t find that answer anywhere. I’ve been charging under charge mode at 1c to 14.8 and it balances after the charge cycle is complete. I’ve recently been told to alway balance charge. Does that meant I should be charging in balance mode?

Thanks for your tips! What about the calibration? I see discrepancies between this charger and the SKYRC imax B6. This charger says that my 4S lipo is charged at 16,8 volts but the SKYRC says that its still at 16,5 volts ... Is there a way how to test/check accuracy ? Thanks!

Hi, glad you found the video helpful. That's a big discrepancy between your chargers. I haven't compared to my ISDT chargers yet nor measured with a multimeter but I will now that you called it out. The manual doesn't explain calibration process nor am I finding any videos covering that. I'll see if I can figure it out, compare between a couple ISDT chargers and several multimeters and amp meters. Enjoy your day!

@@GorgeousCorvus Thank you! It is indeed hard to find some documentation regarding the calibration etc, glad I am not the only one now :) I am curious if you can find something, would appreciate if you could keep me updated :) Thanks a lot and have a great day too!

@@rf2632_ Preliminary test results...I compared the D6 against 3 multimeters and 2 ISDT chargers and it is very close if not spot on to the average of those five other sources. That said, none of those 5 devices have been calibrated against a known accurate source which is why I took averages but they were all within a hundredth, so darn close. Good exercise to go through and looks like one of my ISDT chargers needs slight calibration on one cell meter.

@@GorgeousCorvus That could be because the hobbymate and the ISDT are similar manufactured, as soon as you compare it with another totally different charger, even the cheapest one, the difference will be much more relevant... interesting actually... I wonder if there is a very accurate way to charge lipos and which one is the winner charger...

@@rf2632_ Hi, I went overboard on this and purchased a voltage reference to ensure my multimeters were accurate at 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10v and indeed they are. I used the most accurate one, which was accurate down to the thousandth, to confirm the pack charged by the D6 was indeed at 4.2/cell. A good exercise and now I know my multimeters and chargers are as accurate as reasonablely possible.

I'm still enjoying mine. Hopefully you'll get yours soon. Your comment reminded me to email HobbyMate to update their firmware which I just did. Cheers!
      Hi HobbyMate,
Please consider updating the firmware for the D6 Duo Charger so in Settings > Minimum Input Voltage the user can change the value by .1 rather than .5 increments. .5 is way to gross an adjustment for this setting.
      Thank you!

Don’t forget to tell them about the wireless charger fan needs to be able to turn off while charging, like u mentioned in the video. I’m hoping mine also has the latest firmware like yours does straight out of the box

I have a radiant charger that has 2 chargers built into it like this one, but there is no way to calibrate the voltage. The charger was reading everything .15 to high, so my batteries were under charging. I verified this with 2 other chargers a multimeter and a battery checker. Very frustrating I purchased it like 6 months ago from a local hobby shop and they directed me to the corporate office which said it only has a 30 day warranty. Ugh

Just curious about that discharge feature with the smoke stopper and how long does it take u to get to storage voltage on that lipo. I’ve been considering getting a stand alone discharger

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried adjusting the "LCD backlight" setting in "System Settings"? If you cant actually see anything the clicks are as follows on mine. Power it up, long press the roller button to access "Charger settings". Roll the roller button one click clockwise to highlight "System Settings" and click. Roll the roller button three clicks clockwise to highlight "LDC backlight" and click. Roll the roller button two clicks to highlight "High" and click. Hope that might help. Hope you and yours are healthy and safe. Best.
