Night Before the Exam is about the difficulty of learning 4 syllable Japanese idioms called Yojijukugo. They are written in kanji and part of the dance shows AG trying to write them. The red headbands they are holding symbolize effort and courage and students sometimes wear ones with encouraging slogans to help them in exams. The song's repetitive 4/4 beat echos the 4 syllables and emphasizes the frustration along with AG tearing at their hair and destroying the class room.
goofy visuals is crazyy to me cause I always thought they went crazy hard here-- essentially they're doing big movement on beat with intense speed just to keep up with the chaos of the song, I sure af wouldn't be able to keep up that same lvl of intensity for that long given it was one take and it was obvious they did what must be manyy takes before it
Don't take what I say too seriously homie, if u know me I can describe something as goofy and still fw it heavy lmao
But we would be lying if we said atarashii Gakko themselves didn't portray themselves as goofy 90% of the time, they work hard but have fun doing it
