The feels! First of all, I love Party. So glad they did not take him the evil rival route. Secondly, that confession was arrows straight to Phu's heart. They really went "friends can only be friends" and THEN said, "thank you for being there when I needed you." No wonder he instantly called Joe. And THEN, that final flashback scene. Nan is so happy about living with Phu. My poor BL heart!
The moment Party confessed that he fell in love with Nan was really heart-breaking scene. I know he was really brave to tell Nan. It was very difficult for Nan to turn down Party's proposal ,yet Nan was sincere to express what he really he thought of Party as his best friend.
Party is an excellent actor. He really conveyed the emotion needed for his confession scene. Phu and Nan are equally gifted actors and we feel the angst of their slow burning confession which should take place sometime soon! This series is a masterpiece in so many senses. Thank you, Devonte296, for this excellently produced series which will forever stay in our hearts!

At first I thought Phu was selfish for not opening up to Nan but hearing Nan's view on friends being more than friends I begin to see his reluctance to tell Nan his true feelings
I believe Nan has always seen Phu as a partner. His belief about friends to lovers has never applied to Phu but since neither have been able to express themselves properly, it was never clarified. They are both driving me crazy 😤 and they better end up together. 🥰
I agree with you. I think Nan has to be romantically interested in Phu too, but he just never realized it. For example, those times when they accidentally kissed in college, Nan wasn't grossed out by the idea of kissing Phu, it seemed like he'd rather enjoyed it. I think the idea of verbally saying it out loud that he might like his (same sex) best friend is what's throwing him off. He feels things for Phu, but not being able to come to the realization of it yet. Nan has to take the risk of possibly making their friendship fall apart and make a move or else Phu is gonna run from him again 😢
This series now became my comfort zone... I just love nan and phu so much.. I wish they ll endup together as a couple... Their love s so deep and dreamy. Both the actors really lived like phu and nan.. Everything s just perfect.. Please make season 2 to..my day won't be d same without them... Wonderful series and cast.. ❤❤❤❤love u guys.. I must say that this story is being very skillfully dragged out, I hope that there is a happy ending. It seems implausible that two people who love each other so much cannot find a way to reveal it to one another. It must be very strong to have lasted for 15 years, 10 of which they were never together. I am looking forward to the next episodes.
On second watch I think it's pretty obvious after Party's confession that Nan always loved Phu. He never saw him as just a friend. That's why Party is the "best friend". Phu has always been more to him and that's why he's special.

Proposing and getting rejected is a painful experience. However, Party has an understanding in letting go of what does not belong to him. I have watched many bl movie that rejected proposers create trouble just because their confession wasn't accepted. I feel bad for Party, but at least he have the courage to tell Nan how he feels. And I’m glad that Nan recognizes Party as your best friend through this years without Phu…
While it does take guts to tell someone you love them, I think Party 1) Felt threatened and felt he had to confess since Phu is back, and 2) He might have loved him for a few years, but it does not include their childhood and listening to your best friend say he would not date a friend. I do not think disappearing for 10 years was right, but at the same time sometimes once you make a mistake, it is hard to come back to it a few years later.

first, I was thinking not to watch this series but now I can't explain how much I am addicted to this series. Every person plays a natural role in this series. It also shows the deep love between Phupha and Nanfah. the most heart touching view is no one is shown as bad character in this series. natural love, comedy, Emotional scenes, everything is well maintained in this series. The most important thing is everyone can watch this series because of English substiles. I am going to subscribe your channel and don't forget to bring more series like this. Poor Party 🥲. At least he braved to confess and even more to tell Nan tht his feeling for Nan will be still the same after getting rejected. Honestly say tht am so disappointed at Phupha running away fm Nan again!!!. He's a jerk who doesn't deserve any love fm anyone!!!.
This reminds me of my younger days when we used to pick coffee beans with my cousins at my grandpa's farm. We used to make a day of it laughing and just spending time together. I am more and more in love with the series “The promise”. The acting of the actors is excellent. I want to highlight the child actor who plays Phupha in childhood, I saw his work in another drama “Dear Doctor I'm Coming for Soul” and he is a promise for the BL industry in the future. But, now talking about our couple “Phupha & Nan”. Nan is faithful people... Even receiving the Party's statement he didn't give in and once again Phupha got it all wrong. I'm curious to know, why did Phupha's mother abandon him when he was still a child? I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Well done making the product placement part of the story and less like a sales pitch. And such an engaging story! I love these characters, and they are brought to life so well by the actors and all those behind the scenes. including (but not only) excellent photography, visual storytelling, lighting and sets.Also, just saying, I love the depiction of Man, complete with lame evil laugh!
Loved this episode a lot, can't choose my fave moment, I feel kind of identified with Phupa & Nan cause I know the feeling, when you are in love with your best friend it's so difficult to be brave and show your feelings, congrats guys cause your acting was stunning, can't wait till next week ❤

Phu and Nan intimate moment of caressing each other's faces with facial creams ... there's a profound gentleness and maturity in this scence 🤗. The respectful and mindfulness of Park communicating to Phu that he's going to confess his feelings to Nan and accept whatever Nan's decision may be. In addition to him informing Phu that it's better to confess rather than withholding one's feelings inside. That was absolutely a mature adult moment between Park and Phu 😊. The conflicted hearts story and Love between Phu and Nan in "The Promise" is easy to relate to ... which has the audience at large awaiting for an eventual resolution. I Love the clarity and flow of this show 🥰.

Proposing and getting rejected is a painful experience. However, Party has an understanding in letting go of what does not belong to him. I have watched many bl movie that rejected proposers create trouble just because their confession wasn't accepted. While it does take guts to tell someone you love them, I think Party 1) Felt threatened and felt he had to confess since Phu is back, and 2) He might have loved him for a few years, but it does not include their childhood and listening to your best friend say he would not date a friend.
I do not think disappearing for 10 years was right, but at the same time sometimes once you make a mistake, it is hard to come back to it a few years later.

first, I was thinking not to watch this series but now I can't explain how much I am addicted to this series. Every person plays a natural role in this series. I am more and more in love with the series “The promise”. The acting of the actors is excellent. I want to highlight the child actor who plays Phupha in childhood, I saw his work in another drama “Dear Doctor I'm Coming for Soul” and he is a promise for the BL industry in the future. But, now talking about our couple “Phupha & Nan”. Nan is faithful people... Even receiving the Party's statement he didn't give in and once again Phupha got it all wrong. I'm curious to know, why did Phupha's mother abandon him when he was still a child? I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Phu and Nan intimate moment of caressing each other's faces with facial creams ... there's a profound gentleness and maturity in this scence 🤗. The respectful and mindfulness of Park communicating to Phu that he's going to confess his feelings to Nan and accept whatever Nan's decision may be. In addition to him informing Phu that it's better to confess rather than withholding one's feelings inside. That was absolutely a mature adult moment between Park and Phu 😊. The conflicted hearts story and Love between Phu and Nan in "The Promise" is easy to relate to ... which has the audience at large awaiting for an eventual resolution. I Love the clarity and flow of this show 🥰.
