Hey make your trimmers the way they used too! My Shindiawa 230 is 28 years old and it has the original filter! I am lazy and never did anything with that filter. After 28 years its in the shop for the 1st time getting new fuel lines,Carberator kit if needed and a new trimmer head. I will NEVER get rid of this trimmer ever! When it does die it will be rebuilt. Echo ruined this brand it was hands down the best money could buy. I know they had to put all that garbage EPA junk that robs power, but come on the old 230's were Awesome! I buy them every time I see a used one for sale because the used old models out perform anything made today:P Go back to the older engines and if you have to put the epa emission junk on them at least go back to the better engines. I would gladly pay more to have that power and quality again.
