So you think the Devialet Dione is a better sounding Stand Alone Soumdbar than the Ambeo Max which was considered the king of Stand Alone’s for a few years?
We put it head to head with the Ambeo and thought it performed slightly better. But the Ambeo Max is still an amazing soundbar with a ton of great features. It has awesome room correction and good deep bass by itself. We just thought the Dione sounded slightly better.
Be sure to use the room correction in the app and use the advanced mode. We prefer the speech enhancement on LOW, but you should test to see what you prefer. We keep everything else as is.
Curious, no Samsung- HWQ990D, especially with a new Q990E coming in January? Also, I’m very curious why a premiere, nationally known company such as yours is still recommending Sonos with well known, documented and yet unresolved app issues still prevalent ? Sonos appears more concerned with the roll out & positive reviews of the Arc Ultra & Sub4 than they are with supporting steps to fix the app!
Honestly, the Q990 has always sounded a bit harsh to us. We compared it side by side to the ones on this list and most of our team wasn't a huge fan of it. It is a great soundbar and will be a great option for some, but when trying to make this list as small as possible, we just didn't think it made the cut. As for Sonos, we've discussed at length with their team about their commitments to make the app better and better. We actually discuss this in our Sonos Arc Ultra review that we don't blame people if it's a dealbreaker for them, but we do believe it will eventually be resolved and the hardware in the Arc Ultra is just awesome. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts! Hope this helps clarify where are are coming from.
I wonder if they'll be a new 'in-between' category that the Sony Bravia Quad has kinda made here. It's not really a soundbar since you can put it as wide as you need to, it's probably closer to home theatre in a box sorta
Interesting point. We are seeing more and more of these types of solutions. They can be very practical for someone looking for more than just a soundbar. Thanks for tuning in!
7:28 I don't think the HDMI inputs on the JBL are 2.1. Unless this is a new version of the product, those inputs are only HDMI 2.0 and don't have any VRR support.
Hi! I’m looking at the Soundbar & Sub only, as of now. Your Top Reco for Movies, TV shows & Music. 1) Sonos Arc Ultra, 2) Sennheiser Ambeo Max/ Plus, 3) Sony - Quad. 4) Bose Ultra.
We did do a lot of testing side by side and while the Ambeo is a pretty darn good soundbar, many of us preferred the Dione over it. But they are honestly both fantastic options. Thanks for sharing!
Soundbars are so popular for a reason. Decent sound in a form factor that fits a family room environment. Agree with other comment it cannot compare to a true surround system. Nice summary Audio Advice.
@AudioAdvice I have it actually. It's been pretty awesome for the price I paid ~350$ can't even turn it past 25 it bumps pretty damn well. The volume meter goes to 90👀
We are not dealers of that brand and cannot get a review unit. We haven't seen a ton of positive reviews on it so far. For $3,200, we'd probably recommend speakers and an amp instead. What are your thoughts on it?
I've had several soundbars and a surround sound package but it was only when I purchased a budget AVR and a pair of budget stereo speakers that I realised what I had been missing (stereo imaging, thumping bass, etc) besides going down this route one can always add to it overtime! subwoofer, surround speakers. One could even add height speakers and experience a proper 'non-virtual' Dolby Atmos sound. Nowadays, AVRs are so simple to setup, they even walk you through the process! Hi! Best tuning and eq settings for Arc Ultra please?

When a company is feeling themselves
Haha, thanks for watching

@@AudioAdvice- So is the Sony Quad category (including Sub) better than a Sounbar+Sub, in terms sheer enjoyment & involvement?
7:28 I don't think the HDMI inputs on the JBL are 2.1. Unless this is a new version of the product, those inputs are only HDMI 2.0 and don't have any VRR support.
You are correct. Thank you for catching our mistake! We have edited this now so it is not misleading.
Great overview. I'm looking forward to hearing the Devialet!
Hope you enjoy!
Am not sure but i feel at the cost of the sonos bar you can get a Samsung q900d. It's a complete package. Soundbar speakers and rears.

Some great options here for soundbars depending on your needs.
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
thats if the sonos app works
Correct, we've noticed it's getting better and better! But that is definitely a major concern for a lot of people.
@AudioAdvice i had to unplug mine because moving and terrified to plug it back in
Missing Naka-Dragon…with new 12-inch subs!
Thanks for sharing. Are the updated subs better?
MUCH improved…have two 12s and placed them in the front and placed the 8-in in rear…perfection!
I'd personally say the Sennheiser Ambeo is better as a standalone soundbar.
We did do a lot of testing side by side and while the Ambeo is a pretty darn good soundbar, many of us preferred the Dione over it. But they are honestly both fantastic options. Thanks for sharing!

Agree!
Hisense has a great Atmos Bar as well for under 500. Gets about 500W
Have you heard it? We will take a look. Thanks for the suggestion.

The fact the Nakamichi dragon wasn’t on here…. Just unsubscribed.
imo, they couldn’t include it since it’s not sold thru traditional retailers; but instead, only via online direct to consumers or via Amazon.
