I'm a 22 y/o college student here in the Philippines, I discovered "The Prince" by Nicolo Machiavelli and "Art of war" Sun Tzu last year and "48 laws of Power" by Mr. Greene this year and I can say that this really changed the way I think of life and the way I think about politics. I really appreciate the fact that this era even if you're in the other side of the globe you can have an access to this kind of knowledge and be a better version of yourself.
@@mtn4140 Defenitely the 48 laws of power.. reading this book Will give you a better understanding about yourself and others and learns you how to defend and use certain tactics to remain powerfull and happy in your life
@@zackkunkel9495 exactly my point I read so much that I was able to get the sources from which he used and did not mention in bibliography. Laziness will lead to superficial understanding . If a book is considered a yearly read if should 100 be worth it.
Listen I read many books, those are just two of the books people should read. I am not lazy and you my friend, are one of those people who turn a positive into a negative. YOU definitely need to do more reading, I suggested 2 books and you only mention one. Unbelievable.
I've first heard about Machiavelli when I was 18. I overheard a conversation of two people, during a trainride, and one of them stated that everyone who reads "The Prince" would understand the modus operandi of modern politicians. A year later I got the chance to read that book, but was frustrated by the ancient translation. A few years later I heard about your first book, and it was mentioned that the Machiavellian menthods inspired this. So I bought it and also The Prince in a more modern translation. Both books changed my life and way of thinking drastically. And yes, one can understand politics and politicians when reading them both. Thanks Robert and Niccolo ❤
_The Prince_ is a playbook, still in use - or instinctively used - by politicians. They either learned it (from, say, the book) or figured it out themselves. Both possibilities are scary.
Dear Robert, I discovered 48 laws of power in my early 20's, and for the last 10ish years (I'm old, I know) your books have been a constant guide through the trials and tribulations of my life. They have helped in developing my personality and improving my habits (including developing a general reading habit). They have also saved me from making numerous mistakes, which thanks to improved foresight I have managed to avoid. For example when I meet a "problematic" person in my life: whereas earlier me would get annoyed or frustrated with their behavior, nowadays I smile and think "Wow! Exactly as in the story/chapter xyz that I read in Robert's book!" My only regret is that I have not discovered your work in my teenage years. Oh, the drama and confusion I need not have had!
The 48 Laws of Power is *must* read, Machiavelli revealed the truth behind the mask of power, and I'm grateful to him, and Robert for his wonderful work. #ThankYou.
“Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? It may be answered that one should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved, when, of the two, either must be dispensed with. Because this is to be asserted in general of men, that they are ungrateful, fickle, false, cowardly, covetous, and as long as you succeed they are yours entirely; they will offer you their blood, property, life, and children, as is said above, when the need is far distant; but when it approaches they turn against you.” This is my favorite quote out of any book ever written. Shoutout to Machiavelli for the brilliant work and for inspiring the great Robert Greene 🐐 🐐
Without love, the world quickly turns bleak and hostile. Trust vanishes, and negativity lurks everywhere. Even the smallest things can become sources of suspicion, and the fear of betrayal looms over every interaction. The lack of love leads to loneliness, bitterness, and a constant sense of unease, as anxiety and distrust become the norm. This extends to the point where even basic acts of kindness, like sharing a meal, are fraught with doubt. One might wonder if their food has been poisoned. The absence of love leads to loneliness, bitterness, and a pervasive atmosphere of anxiety, distrust, and fear because that which we sow, we inevitably reap. True power lies not in instilling fear but in inspiring reverence through a balance of potential for harm and a commitment to justice tempered by love. By adhering to the golden rule of treating others with the same love and respect one desires for oneself. From a survival standpoint, it's good to have claws to produce some fear to be able to protect yourself from bullies. But once you're established in self-defense, never choose fear at the cost of love where relationships and trust are better rewards, as opposed to enemies, desolation, and all negative emotions. Ultimately, you cannot have one without the other. That's the difference between the good king, tempered with wisdom, as opposed to the corrupt tyrant, who exercises extreme fear. On that note, both extremes are bad and inevitably fail. You need a touch of fear, with a whole lot of love. A king has to reprimand and cannot be all love, especially in the face of wrongdoing.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” That’s by Hellen Keller, and is my favorite quote ❤

You couldn't have been more right about how as a child you were so turned off by folks that lie about their character while knowing they are nothing of what they claim to be. My mother was the perfect example of that and I was disgusted by it. Because of that, I learned to maintain my own authenticity as I grew older with only a window in my 20's were I deviated from that path but regained it again. I have already known for a while that people tell you everything you need to know through their actions (without reading any book about it, but through painful observation). But you did teach me to notice micro-expressions in people to see how they really feel and have taken that knowledge into my daily observatiosn. Thank you for sharing so much with the world.

Studying Machiavelli reveals insights into politics, leadership, and human nature, emphasizing pragmatism and human motivations. However, his teachings raise ethical concerns about manipulation. Balancing his lessons with integrity is crucial.
i’m not sure if you’re open to astrology, but i looked up your chart & Machiavelli’s chart and i am absolutely FLOORED… when i saw that you both have Sun (identity) in Taurus, i was like okay, cool coincidence. but because both of your works have such a huge focal point on power, i of course had to look at Pluto-the planet symbolic of power, influence, and subconscious control (among many other things). but to understand how insane and meaningful this is, you have to know that Pluto is a very slow-moving celestial body. in the charts of most people, it acts as a background sort of force unless there are mathematical configurations to other planets that suggest otherwise. both of you have the exact same sign of Pluto. it takes Pluto well over 500 years to move back into the exact same sign. and to think how big of an influence he is on your work blows my mind. the fact that you both have Taurus Sun / Virgo Pluto, with a positive aspect (the mathematical configuration i mentioned earlier) between them, and focus on similar things just can’t be a coincidence. you have to be his reincarnation or something 😂
Never outshine the master has been one of the most useful laws I’ve learned. Thank you Robert. Learning about human nature from you and Machiavelli actually makes me more optimistic about the world, because despite the manipulative nature of humanity, we have still progressed somehow into a world with historically low violence and poverty, when you compare it to all other times of history.
There are five thinkers that I have learned great things from when it comes to understanding the great power-structure and social-ecosystem that is our world, these thinkers are: Machiavelli, Nietzsche, Jung, Hegel and Sartre. What I find so amazing though is that time and time again I can tie the ropes back to Machiavelli, absolutely crazy how much his books contain if you read 'in between the lines' so to speak. I enjoy your work very much Robert, thanks for everything!!
I love how Robert addresses Machiavelli as his good friend...as if he is still alive-which of course, he IS when you consider his writings and the very real and ever contemporary influence they have on people through the decades and centuries...I feel that way about Nietzsche, and also Robert's own work, which will have a timeless impact down the line I'm sure...the 48 Laws of Power is his The Prince, and 300 years from now, people will address Robert as a good friend too

I would love to sit and have a coffee with you one day Mr. Greene. Your texts have been so influential to me, thank you for sharing your knowledge and research in such a personable manner.
It took me 40 years to really begin to understand how most people are motivated by the desire for power, specifically power over others. I didn't want to believe it, but I am seeing it more clearly every day. It makes me sad. But I appreciate your valuable modern perspectives, Robert. Thanks.
Unfortunately I haven't read Machiavelli's work, though I've read three of Green's, which changed my views towards the world and people. I'm not enough smart and masterful to use all the laws, however I've learnt how to quickly distinguish other people's true wishes, actions and thoughts clearly. So, I'm deeply grateful for such chefs-d'oeuvres.
Robert Greene's books and the internalization process of them have elevated my philosophical and psychological games to a whole a new level. It did take a couple years to really process all the information and turne it into my tools in the arsenal but damn it was worth the effort. Subtleties are everything!
thing is; I can see and hear all this yet it comes with a price. The more I see this actors the more I get isolated to an extent that I have become a lone wolf without a company. This makes me really anxious altough I can handle it, I do not know if this is sustainable, really.

Robert's reflection on Niccolò Machiavelli's influence is a testament to the timeless wisdom found in Machiavelli's writing. 📚 It's fascinating to see how Machiavelli's insights on power dynamics continue to shape our understanding of human behavior and leadership.
Back after he wrote The Prince, Machiavelli also wrote stage plays anyway long story short they accused him of being the actual 'Devil' an accusation not granted to many lol.

both of you have the exact same sign of Pluto. it takes Pluto well over 500 years to move back into the exact same sign. and to think how big of an influence he is on your work blows my mind. the fact that you both have Taurus Sun / Virgo Pluto, with a positive aspect (the mathematical configuration i mentioned earlier) between them, and focus on similar things just can’t be a coincidence. you have to be his reincarnation or something 😂
I love how Robert addresses Machiavelli as his good friend...as if he is still alive-which of course, he IS when you consider his writings and the very real and ever contemporary influence they have on people through the decades and centuries...I feel that way about Nietzsche, and also Robert's own work, which will have a timeless impact down the line I'm sure...the 48 Laws of Power is his The Prince, and 300 years from now, people will address Robert as a good friend too
my man Robert, if you ever make your audiobooks with your own voice I'd buy them all with no hesitation
Thank you Robert you are doing gods work you changed my life and millions of others you'll be remembered till the end of human kind
Great video coverage keeping up with current trends and strategies can help traders stay ahead of the curve and make informed decisions, It is important for beginners in trading and investing to understand that success in these fields requires technical analysis, emotional maturity, and self-discipline. Thanks to Shea Ardolf’s insights, daily trade signals, and my dedication to learning, I've been increasing my daily earnings. Kudos to the journey ahead!
Shea Ardolf program is widely available online..
Insightful comments, very much appreciated.. just came across the consulting page of Shea Ardolf after inputting her full name on the web, super impressed with what i've seen so far
The beauty of Shea Ardolf ’s approach is her dual focus: while she aggressively pursues profit opportunities, she's equally tenacious about shielding investors from potential pitfalls. It's a balance few can achieve.
Trading systems allow you to limit the factor of emotional influence on decision-making, as well as to give the trade a certain degree of systemic character.
Reason i invest in the crypto market; to make my money work for me, to prevent inflation from eroding my savings
Thank you my good friend Robert Greene. In my head, you guys are the best friends i never had
It is a rainy night here in India. I wish i could pour you a single malt and debate through the night about why humans do what they do.
Thank you for intellectually adapting me Robert. I hope you know how much you’re creating people’s character and view of life.
Mister green is a real living legend i thank you your work helped me a lot
God bless Robert Greene
Happy birthday, Robert.
“the human animal “ I like that expression ; before I thought i was the only insane who think that , now that the idea is blessed by mr Greene , i will adopt it from now on , i will always add - animal next to the word human;
for the simple reason that
“ people pretend to be what in fact they are not “ & that they play the game of “ fake it ‘till U make it “,… YET , i still have hope & believe in human nature can change for the better, since humans are victimized by ignorance & the surroundings
🕯 ❤ 🕯 .
the irony of you using the same principles as Machiavelli did to make your influence among people like you mentioned in 33 strategies of war is so damn brilliant. prob one of my fav living authors
Bought my first copy of Machiavelli in Berkeley, and a few years later wrote a comps question on his being the first modern.
Inspiring others to think for themselves is a powerful ability that is a self driven aspiration in nature.
Just bought Mastery and the Art of Seduction. Before that I bought 48 laws of power and the 366 daily laws, there's so much to learn from your insights. Ty Robert.
Thanks.
I'm reading Machiavelli "Discourses of Livy" right now. It is a Masterpiece. 48 Laws is a game changer, Making me more of what I am.
Happy birthday Mr. Greene, all the best for you
The Book of Seduction is just what I needed from a great writer like you, i say"Thank you" as you love it..
Mr. Greene, you thank him and we thank you
Once again you open my eyes to another world 🙏
Keep posting videos of you talking! Your voice is so soothing to me!
I did too..always thought people were phony..
I love that ur intro is just various examples of you saying what’s what xD love this content
Your book was what initially opened my eyes. Thank you
not to be all up in peoples business, but 0.33 Mr. Rob is moving the left hand even more! continue to get even better, and more well! POWERFUL Mr. Rob!!!
I meditating on the Prince for nearly 10 years still potent as when I first read it. It also introduced me to his other book, Art of War and Castrucho Casticani of Lucca classics
You both share the same birthday..indeed you where destined to be Great ..Thank you for Changing my life With Your pen
Robert's reflection on Niccolò Machiavelli's influence is a testament to the timeless wisdom found in Machiavelli's writing. 📚 It's fascinating to see how Machiavelli's insights on power dynamics continue to shape our understanding of human behavior and leadership.
It is an amazing to have you in this age.Long live Mr green.🎉
Robert G. Is a very intelligent , fascinating man
The Book
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
really shaped my life so i can relate 📚🐛
this makes me want to read it, what's it about? in what way has it shaped your life?
@@nanaamii647it’s a children’s book lol
Great work Robert
I love how you refer to him as he was alive and somewhere out there. Im sure he would really appreciate it
OMG. I was waiting for this video for so long!
I love Robert Greene and his books
Back after he wrote The Prince, Machiavelli also wrote stage plays anyway long story short they accused him of being the actual 'Devil' an accusation not granted to many lol.
Thank you for acknowledging the great Machiavelli, in these days people don't give credit
Robert ... you are getting better by the day...your communication skills are so powerful.... it is like squeezing an orange ... your knowledge just flows...thanks.... and I bought the 48 Laws luxury edition and I recommend it to anybody who wants to see an original presentation with Machiavelli,s face showing up
Wow, I love how at 15 you were drawn to this book. Even from an early age this was your calling!
I am 16 and the 48 laws of power opened my eyes. Thanks for your lessons❤
Machiavelli gets a bad rep. He was a good dude who simply wrote about how the world actually worked, not how he wished it worked.
I love your books! I’ve read it over 5 times and I read twice a year. Love your work💯
That ending was very touching,
Robert Greene one of the prolific writers of the 21st Century. Your book MASTERY is a masterpiece.
With markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly-which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $125k bond/stocck portfoli0
It’s precisely at times like these that investors need to be on guard against the next certainty. You don’t have to act on every forecast, hence i will suggest you get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.
Right, I've been in constant touch with a fiinancial-analyst since covid . You know these days it's really easy to buy into trending stock`s, but the task is determining when to buy or sell . My advisorr decides entry and exit commands on my portfoliio, I've accrued over $300k from an initially stagnant reserve of $150K.
please I want to invest but I don't know any F/A that can help me, can you leave behind the info of the lady you just mentioned?
marie slopiey donner is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name on. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
she's mostly on Telegram, using the user name
You're a start Robert. Your wisdom opened my eyes on soooo many things. I ow you so much.
I like that you're a Taurus, as a pisces with a 2nd house (Taurus house) in scorpio (known for depth, loyalty, power). I find myself connected to taureans on a deep level
I first discovered Machiavelli in Assassin Creed and then I got curious about his character and then one of my friends let me read one of his books to learn more about him
It's funny, Robert is one of my all time favorite people to listen to, and I just started looking in to Machiavelli by a series of random coincidences then I see Robert has just put out a video about him. I love shit like that.
Amazing how i just finished reading the prince for the first time last week
I always learn something new when you make a video on these philosophers (i know machiavelli isnt regarded as a philosopher but whatever)
Wow. I have never thought about Machiavelli in that way Master Robert Greene. If his ideas are still vilified in 2024, just imagine how they were in 1500s. What a legend
I like how he respect other legend and advice us to improve (a knowledge of infinity ♾️ ) for free
Happy Birthday sir..Wishing you a prosperous life ahead, Love from Kerala, India
Once again, thanks Mr. Greene.
Robert Greene is the goat
You look good Robert! Great recovery from your stroke.
I love this because my love for Machiavelli is what has sparked my interest in you!
I love Roberts Greene box with passion ❤❤❤
Always find your content incredibly helpful, valuable and interesting. Cannot wait for the new book. :)
you are my inspiration Robert ; just love the way you speak and the way you do everything i see.
48 Laws of Power is like explained version of Machiavelli's Prince!
Thanks Dr Greene! I dont know if you're doctor, to me you are psychologist! You started to change my life by reading Laws of Human Nature, 48 Laws of Power; I wanna read all of his book, because he's modern Machiavelli
