I'm so blessed to be walking these streets everyday... To do shopping at this Centre daily and to walk through the park to get my grandson from school. Our beautiful neighborhood... There's so much more to see... ❤️
Hi Charlene, thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It is great to hear from the local and it sounds like you really enjoy the area. I'm sure there is a lot more to experience in this suburb but I was really surprised at how green the area was and how the birds live so freely in Kenridge Park. Wish I bought more stuff from the Deli!
Servus!
Love the big Toblerone and duck traffic sign! Looks like a great area to live in the big city. It is very noticeable how much more safety and security conscious the residents are here compared to the Karoo towns.
I think the price and the limited space in my backpack put me off buying that Toblerone, but it was massive! The cities are much more focused on safety with several properties having electric fences and security alarms etc. Loved the birds living so freely in Kenridge Park too. Thanks for watching!
We drive on the same side of the road in New Zealand. Rubbish is also collected each week in NZ too there they are paper sacks rather than bins. The green of your grass is also a first impression of NZ too, as one drives between the cities; the farm land paddocks with cows or sheep or both. Oh and by the way I am wearing my All Black jersey, for tomorrows game between our two countries. Going to be a great contest. Kiwi in Virginia. PS: Kenridge is a beautiful place thank you.
Big game indeed tomorrow, Swanoaks! For us South Africans, playing New Zealand is always the ultimate test and I'm sure it will be a great final. Sounds like there are many similarities between the neighbourhoods in Cape Town and in New Zealand, which is interesting to know. Really appreciate all your support for and contributions to my channel!
@@willieexplore more the North Island than the South Island Willie; which is where I am from, although much of the North island is hilly with winding roads, the countryside is very green. Similar to what you showed in your video. Kiwi . . . I think the World of rugby is going to be in for superb rugby tomorrow. The two best teams in the world going head to head.
@@Swanoaks thanks for the great description of the islands, I often wonder what makes them different! I really hope to get to the land of the silver fern in due course. Definitely will be a rugby occasion Swanoaks :)
I thought that was a yorkshire pudding you were holding in the thumbnail😂. I do like Kenridge, the green open spaces and the sense of community is very appealing. Love the dog park! It must have been strange being back in amongst noise and bustle after the peacefulness of the Karoo.
Haha Sheila I can totally see now that it might look like a Yorkshire pudding without the gravy :) Certainly a very nice area to live and I'd encourage more Capetonians in particular to explore this hidden gem in the city. The dog park is probably my favourite bit but I also enjoyed roaming amongst the guinea fowls and other birds. Fantastic that they can roam so freely.
I used to collect vehicles from and deliver to the Subaru dealer in Kenridge when I worked for an auto body repair shop. I haven't been to the area since I left that job, but it's likely that the dealership is no longer there as it's common practice for dealerships to change location after a few years. Driving through that area, I always dreamt of some day moving there. That dream is still alive. Thank you for this walk through tour of Kenridge.
Thanks as always my friend, Cape Town is a well-known tourist destination but there are several areas that many have never heard of, so I tried to shed a light on one of those :)
My Ma and Pa in law live about 100m away from where you were at the start of the video. I miss it - my wife goes back a couple of times a year but we can only afford for me and the kids to go every 18 months or so. Next going back in December!
kenridge = northern suburbs ... in the 80s you had the southern and northern suburbs and the what we called the boerewors curtain hehehe was quite distinct...
Security is definitely tighter in the cities, as one would expect anywhere. But I've never felt unsafe in this part of Cape Town, in fact it is one of the safest neighbourhoods I've ever been in.
Because the people living there are in the upper income living bracket they are very prone to home invasions and burglaries. My daughter used to live in Kenridge and I worried about her and my grandchildren's safety every day.
Met al die mooi groen bome en blomme. Dis ñ mooi verassing. Ek dog jy stap rond in een van die ryk Suidelike Voorstede soos Bishops Court of Constantia. Grys water is potable water. Not drinkable. Gardens only.
No you are incorrect. After 1994 the various cities created the metropolitan city of cape town. So Bellville is part of cape town. So too is places like Atlantis, durbanville and somerset west.
Thanks Wolf. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think I know which areas you have in mind - but there are already loads of videos of those places and not many about Kenridge.

Beautiful. So lively-looking. It is so green. 👍👍
I was pleasantly surprised to see so much green and all those birds. Thumbs up from me!
The lower part falls under Bellville and the upper part falls under Durbanville
That is interesting! Thanks for watching :)
Kenridge is green and looks beautiful 😻
It certainly is! Thanks for watching and commenting
Great video Willie especially for your wonderful information about the place plus show different social side that we as viewers don't see thanks!

Mooi geel deur! Dankie vir die video!

Hi Luke, thanks for watching and commenting! Hope your next visit in December is a great one - something to look forward to!
Definitely Bellville!
Interesting! Thanks for watching!
The Willowbridge mall down Tygerberg road used to be a jail and they were used as labor for the quarry
Didn't know that! Btw a Willowbridge pharmacy massively overcharged me for some prescription, they are not in my good books haha :)
kenridge = northern suburbs ... in the 80s you had the southern and northern suburbs and the what we called the boerewors curtain hehehe was quite distinct...
Cheers for your input! The boerewors curtain...classic :)
Kenridge primary school one of the best in Cape Town
That is interesting Rene! Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!

Grey water is water that has already been used for washing clothes, baths etcetera.
Makes a lot of sense. Thanks for watching!
Willie ek ken Kenridge baie goed baie daar gekom!!!
Dis 'n lekker area! Gedink ek explore dit so bietjie aangesien my broer nou daar bly. Dis darem mooi groen daar!
I could see security and safety is important to people in these areas in Cape Town more than in Karoo towns ???

Police station in Durbanville say Kenridge is part of their area and not De Bron which is next to Kenridge.
That is so interesting, thanks for sharing! And thanks for watching my videos and supporting my channel :)
Up to the dog park is Durbanville
@@powertechnical interesting!
Hi, Its in Durbanville not Bellville
Thanks for letting me know! Have a good one!
Met al die mooi groen bome en blomme. Dis ñ mooi verassing. Ek dog jy stap rond in een van die ryk Suidelike Voorstede soos Bishops Court of Constantia.
Grys water is potable water. Not drinkable. Gardens only.
Dankie vir die saamkyk! Dit is inderdaad 'n mooi area. Good point about the water!
Im in Aurora
A nice place for sure!
Nee daardie tarentale speel chicken as jy daar ry met jou kar 😂
Ek sien! Dankie vir die saamkyk :)
Belville has its own city status it's not cape town it's Belville

By CT standards it is not a beautiful place.
