Tommy what particular drill pattern did you use on this ball? I noticed that we stand in the same area on the lane.
Once you knock the shine off this ball and put it round 2-3k grit, it really wakes up. Lots of length and more predictable backend.

I believe the first Ebonite ball with HK22 is the GB4 Hybrid, not the Emerge.
It was the Envision Pearl, but the GB4H was obviously still ahead of the Emerge.
Envision Pearl, GB4 Hybrid, Emerge, The One Encore, and Fireball…pretty much in that order.

Ebonite has five HK22 balls in their lineup: the four you mentioned, plus The One Encore.

Why do manufacturers keep pushing certain balls into a "low end" or "starter ball" category? This ball has similar #'s to X-Ponent. With surface this ball will probably do similar things. Both symmetrical with similar diffs. With Dynamicore & HK22 this has all the same features as my Stealth Pearl or Cuda Pearl. This sounds like the perfect late game tournament ball or game 3 five man league night ball. Brands of brunswick keeps shooting themselves in the foot by categories and silly price points. They need to think of bowling more like golf, each ball does a different thing like a club. You need every club in the bag not just a driver. I like Tommy but try selling me the club not my 12 year old nephew you just shot 300 with it for goodness sakes.
This ball is not the performance of a Cuda or Stealth Pearl. It's really not even the same thing at all.
There is a reason it's on the more affordable side of the spectrum.
@timanders3151 you're missing the point. If the brands of brunswick continues to market lower priced balls as lesser balls then they're always gonna be behind the Storm products. If the Fireball has HK22 & Dynamicore just like the 2 I mentioned and the only difference is the main cover is weaker then say a BG 14.4 cover then market it as a later in blocks ball not a ball for children. I personally use 3 balls in my 5 man league cause the oil doesn't hold up. My game 3 ball is always a weaker low diff ball. Guess what, it still has HK22 & Dynamicore so the upgrades are all there but like in golf I'm just choosing a different club. The ball isn't hitting any less harder cause it's 50 dollars cheaper so why market it towards a child just sell it for what it is.
I agree. It puts a negative connotation on these types of balls. The houses I bowl on, the balls with strong cores and covers dont work at all. So I need something cleaner for dry lanes. But instead the ball I need is marketed as a beginner ball. Or if you’re cheap and on budget, this ball is for you…wtf. Terrible marketing.
He shoots a 300 with it, talks about the hk22 in the cover, talks about how he'll use it later in blocks, talks about how it's a step down from the Emerge for him, and talks about how excited he is that the hk22 is in a ball like this. He sold the ball to me. Yeah he talked about how the ball will benefit new/youth bowlers as well, because the ball will benefit more than just your serious league bowlers. I'd hate for him talking about how it benefits several levels of bowlers (youth, those on a budget, newer bowlers, and serious leage/tournament bowlers) to be a deterent for bowlers to buy the ball.
I totally get TJ is the boss, but it would be nice to show off some of the other Ebonite staffers every once in a while haha
