    I told myself over a year ago, I'm done with any and all China made knives. I don't care how hyped or how great it's supposed to be. I'm not interested.
    I've be fully focused on my American made collection. Since I made that decision, I've added a Hinderer Slim Xm-18 3.5, a full ti xm-18 3.5, battle black auto Xm-18 3.5, stonewashed ti auto Xm-18 3.5, a Sebenza 31, a Umnamzaan, and a medford slim midi.
    I'll soon be back on the hunt, still need to get a Strider.. then probably a mcnees pm mac2 3.5, Olamic Cutlery Whippersnapper, vulcan Preaetorian, and a Spartan Harsey Folder...
    If I can knock all those out... maybe I'll work towards an Oz Roosevelt & Brown Xl Cortex.. but who knows 😂

      I've been on much the same path, not avoiding foreign knives just extremely selective with what I'm purchasing..the rosie, mini arius, and cortex are all on my list too🍻

    Great video ,i have carried a plain small 21 for 12 years . I believe it was $350.00 then . The sand blasting finish is long gone just smooth titanium now. As far Hinderers go not easy to get ! Made in lots and go quick . I also like TRM they are the best buy in an American made knife .

    The Sebenza is the one I prefer. I like the clean lines. In reality, I will never own a Sebenza but I appreciate the attention to detail.

    My first really nice knife was a Sebenza, which I picked up in 1997. It still works as well as the day I got it and imagine it will outlive me. Great EDC knife that can take some hard work.

    You get what you pay for. I’ve got a large and small version of the sebby, both dp and tanto versions of the zaan and a large inkosi and I love all of them. The small seb and dp zaan get the most carry time. My full ti working finish 3.5” xm18 spanto doesn’t get a lot of carry time. Lately though, my quiet carry drift has been getting the brunt of the pocket time. It’s just so good for a $330 knife. Definitely as close to my Rosie as I’ve found for the price.

      I tend to lean more towards the 3 inch knives for edc since they're more convenient, often carry better in the pocket and fit my hands well..I think this hinderer is a top 3 pickup this year for me next to the Neutron 2 and small sebenza 21🍻

    For the tip up carry, many of my local police carry like that (generally Spyderco Military 2, PM2, and sometimes Socom Elite) because;
    1. They were taught to carry the knife on their vest on the left side, so they don't have to reach into their pocket (as their belts already make it a lot harder to reach the pockets)
    2. I don't think they bother to change the clip direction as most of them probably aren't super into knives like us

  • @aintwhatitaint8626
    @aintwhatitaint8626 2 місяці тому

    I really wanna try a hinderer, may do another sell off and grab one soon.
    Side note, the part about assembly being different.. I fudged my small 31 assembly by the washer getting behind the pivot bushing. Then i researched, and read someone talking about the sandwich method or some shit. You can take the pivot out, and slide the bushing and washers out, clean and slide back in. You may have to loosen that shoulder screw, but i didn't. 10/10 recommend, in case, like me, you'd never heard of this lol.
    To your point about feeling the "new" one of my inkosis was basically new, one as worn in, and the sebenza was new. They only get better with time. It took a while to break in the 31, it actuality took a couple weeks before i began to like it. After it got broken in, i love it.

    I appreciate your video, and love for the 21. I’ve had many sebenza’s gone through my collection from buying, selling and trading since probably around 2006. I wish I had kept many knives that I could have kept but delved into other hobbies. Knives of course that are near impossible to attain again such as a small sebenza 21 with mammoth bark ivory inlays, a large sebenza with Honduran redwood I think it was. That’s just two amongst 20 plus different sebenza’s I’ve owned. Just touching the surface of the water and I also appreciate American made knives and have had many Striders and Hinderer’s. Amongst others.
    There is too much to say but I want say I’m not certain what you were meaning about the lanyard post. You mentioned the dimple on the lanyard post. I actually like how they used to be which was concave like a cone machined in there it looked so much better and not like crazy eyed bird glaring at me. I should add that I don’t think its intention was to add support to the frame which is quite secure with its hex screws not Chicago screws btw.
    Currently my Chris Reeve knives I own are a 2010 large sebenza 21 and a 2008 Umnumzaan from the first quarter basically when they were released.

    Chris Reeve are actually the least expensive knives over the long run. If you use the knife and need a new blade, for a nominal price, Chris Reeve replaces it. If you decide you want to spruce it up, for $30 CRK will re blast the scales, replace the washers, sharpen the blade and send it back to you looking like new. It can be a lifetime knife.

    It’s funny but in the small size, I much prefer my Sabenza 31 over my XM18 3. But I feel the opposite when it comes to preferring my XM 18 3.5 over my large Sabenza 31. I truly appreciate the quality workmanship from both companies.

      Respectfully having handled hundreds and hundreds of knives in the last few years (the majority of which being modern designs) I'm going to disagree with you..also even for the hinderer I put together with the overpriced ti scale it doesn't take riches..just don't buy the next 10 budget knives and instead save up, or sell some of your collection and you can afford it..it doesn't take riches, it takes patience and self restraint (something I've been working on having)...also the sebenza was a trade..so yeah, I disagree😂 thanks for watching

    I would never pay for any CRK product. Same reason I don't buy Benchmade.
    It isn't the build quality. It is the cost. And CRK is outperformed by dozens of less expensive brands that perform similarly or better.
