It’s the flipper that did it to me.

D2 is semi stainless, I personally have two D2 knives with 62 hrc. Both are dark stone washed so I never ever get any rust or corrosion on em. These two knives outperform 99% of Magnacuts and m390 -s I have in my possession. Because of better heat treatment. But the other D2 blades I have are also pretty high in HRC measuring at 59-60 on avg. Which is waaaay more than enough unless you're living in a post apocalyptic wasteland without any sharpening stones. Also I disagree about the reasoning behind the D2 hate. I think it all goes down to the price. People love to shit on cheap stuff especially when they own expensive stuff which does the same but for much higher price. They have to somehow justify why they pay so much for something that is not worth it. This is happening because most people who talk about steels are collectors not actual knife users.

I'm a big fan of fat carbon and camo carbon. It's really appealing to me. Especially as an inlay

I don't own any kansept knives or a camo carbon fiber knife, but this does look nice and the titanium bolsters are my jam.

I like both versions, aesthetically speaking. In practical terms, I don't like that the primary grind is so short (about half the height of the blade) and flat ground. That's going to cause the edge bevel widen out in a hurry after reprofiling and sharpening a few times, and it's not going to be a great cutter. It's also smaller than I like, but that's a personal preference kind of thing.

Yes I am one that detests "speed holes" . I do not want multiple anus's drilled into my knife. The new style is a winner. I will say I am getting tired of the flamboyant CF, it was very cool when it first came out. Nothing wrong with it now, I personally am just growing tired of the look.

Not a fan of speed holes at all, it makes a knife look very gas station-y to me.

I have no problem with speed , that carbon fiber is fantastic.

The titanium ones are really nice and open up anodizing options. The bolster one look cool all on their own. I just wish it was a little bigger. I get the blade being under 3 inch thing, just wish the handle was bigger.

Great video, love overbuilt knives. Kind of want to add the Beowolf to my collection. That said, 8:30 there are two kinds of overbuilt knives. You have the hard users like the Hinderer or AD20 then you have overbuilt less meant to be pratical and more meant to be badass collector's items like these and Medford knives. To remove the glass breaker would indeed make the hulking, weighty, full-pocket prybar feel more comfortable and practical but that would also make it look less badass. It isn't a platform for practicality. I've edc'd a 4-Max and can't see myself putting these in my pocket for work. They would look amazing strewn about with my other knives though.

When you get a Bob Dozier D2 knife do a cut test with that knife and then anySpyderco if they even do D2 or Benchmade D2 although Benchmade does do a decent D2 heat treat, but I promise you it will not compare with Bob Dozier’s D2 Bob Dozier is far more superior

But you’re not explaining why it’s not being heat treated properly. It’s too hard you got a tolerance to play in at a minimum temperature and a maximum temperature of like 20°. It’s very hard to do large batches of D2. You have to let people know this. it is a great steel if it’s done right therefore put it this way, if you want a good knife and you wanna understand how good D2 really is spend $250 two $300 on a Bob Dozier knife then you’ll understand

Then you take a look at other steals like 14 C nitro V and 154 CM even s35VN S30V the heat treat range is like from lowest to highest temperature is like 60° to 70°. It’s much easier to do large batches of those kind of steals because now you have a fluctuation to play in it’s not as tight that’s why those steals it’s very rare to hear that the steel doesn’t do well because it’s properly treated.

I am glad you mentioned about heat treatment. He treatment for big production companies of D2 cannot hit the right heat treatment because the heat range is so tight. It’s within 20°. Do you know how hard it is to keep a large batch of knives within a 20° range of minimum temperature and maximum temperature 20° is really hard to do. It’s great knife steel if it’s done small batches extremely small batches Bob dozier does an awesome job with D2. He does D2 knives and very small batches so it’s easier to keep the heat range 20° minus look up the heat treatment protocol in the temperature and you’ll see what I mean. This is why companies like I don’t know big knife companies have a hard time with it because they want to do large batches of blades and they can’t, get all the blades to hit that mark for the temperature. You’re not educating yourself on proper heat treatment forget the Rockwell hardness that’s easy to get to properly. Take it through heat treatment protocol on large batches of blades. It’s very very difficult. That’s why a lot of companies have a hard time doing it correctly if it’s done correctly, the only button, only person I know that is a great blade that will superiorly. I’ll perform Bob Dozier his custom knives.

All he said was increasing the rockwell increases the edge retention but then didn't clarify about what it did to the other characteristics. EVERY steel's edge retention goes up with rockwell.

I like the begg very much and appreciate the quality u carry it frequently. I also have a harbor freight 'clone' and ,frankly, carry it more often - it is larger and the action is smoother.
