The very kind, hospitable, engaging and awesome owners of the Innes House, aka the CHARMED House, aka Halliwell Manor, kindly invited me to view and film the inside of the house. I brought my superfriend/fellow hardcore Charmed fan, Christian, along with me, and we both geeked-out heavily and felt so blessed. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we soaked it up to the fullest. Thank you Murray and Planaria (the owners). I hope to return the favor and kindness to you some day, somehow. It would be an honor to do so, because you both made one of my childhood (and adulthood) dreams comes true. Thank you so much! To my fellow Charmed fans, enjoy, and "blessed be!"

"We don't talk about the reboot" - preach. The original Charmed helped this gay boy survive middle school; I couldn't be more appreciative.
Yaaaasss!!!!! Haha. The original one did the same for this gay guy as well. It was so empowering and entertaining, and taught us so much about the power we wield; the power to fight any form or negativity or evil that threatens to tear us down. Thanks for watching, my friend. Blessed be!!! 😉
I believe the original was more empowering than the reboot. The Halliwells may not be people of color and neither did they include LGBT characters unlike the reboot but the lessons the OG Charmed imparted to the people doesn't seemed forced. It was about being right vs wrong as a human being regardless of your ethnicity, religion or social status. Sadly, Rose McGowan didn't develop in real life and became a spiteful bitch unlike her character.
This show help me through my childhood and teenage years they gave me power and hope

The inside isn’t the same because they used a constructed set in the actual show, instead of filming inside the house. The only episode that uses the real house is the unaired pilot.
It's hilarious that the attic is in another house! Also, I'm so jealous of you guys! Charmed is an all time fave of mine :D
I said the same thing when Miss Planaria emailed me. She said that she'd show us the attic first and then we'd go across the street to thr Charmed house. I was like, "Huh?!" Lol Then she explained how she and Murray's attic was the one used in the pilot episode. Before that day, I'd assumed it was a set. But apparently the sets weren't finished being made until it was time to shoot ep2 or ep3 of sn1.

@@braininvasion8192 I wholeheartedly agree. I used to be an extra, sp I got to work at Paramount Pictures a lot, and loved how the sets are built to perfection. It's crazy how some elaborate sets were made for just one episode of a show. Then they tore it down! 🤯 Blew my mind.

@@amberbernay Hey Amber, I don't think they're doing tours there atm. In January of last year, I got a message from one of the owners. She'd written back to me about 15 months after I wrote to her about wanting to see the inside of the house and how I would pay for her time if she charges. She almost never checks her FB msgs, which is why it took her over a year to see mine. lol
But for some magical reason, she saw mine (amongst countless others) and she kindly wrote back, offering to show me both houses that were used in the show. She even said I could bring a friend and tape the experience so that all the other Charmed fans around the world could see it all too.
Afterwards, I promised I'd tell everyone to not write to her on FB, cuz she just wanted to do something kind for me and, at the same time, didn't want a load of ppl msging her about getting a similar experience, which is understandable. But... I used to hear about how the city would do a monthly tour. The owners mentioned something about that to me as well.
In this era of covid, I doubt any tours are being done. But I think u should still try to research all u can about them, and hopefully u and your mom and can make it here one day to have a magical experience walking through the Halliwell manor. Google: the Innes House in the Angelino Heights area near downtown L.A.
Also, fun fact: "Dan's" yellow and white house is next to the Charmed house, just like it is in the show. And next to that house is the MJ "Thriller" house from that iconic music video. Let me know if this helps. Lastly, if u ever make it here to L.A. and want meet at the Charmed house just enjoy that experience with a fellow Charmed fan who is local, just hit me up on IG @creative_closs and I'd love to meet u and your mom there. Every single time I've gone there, I've always met a fellow visiting Charmed fan and we'd chat and take selfies. It's a magical, random, and cool thing to share in the love of that epic show. You're so welcome, Nando. I was there for me, you and all of us who'd been dying to go. I was blessed with an invite from one of the owners, after I wrote to her. It made my LIFE, when she read my letter and kindly invited me to see the house. Both of the owners were beyond kind and gracious. I'm so glad you enjoyed this video and felt like you were there with Christian and I along the way. That was my hope, when filming and doing all the editing/vfx. I loved Charmed and grew up watching the show. I collected all 8 seasons in DVD boxes for great memories and can rewatch them anytime. I remembered when season 1 started, every Sunday night I would be home to watch the episode on TV and record in my VHS cassette tape to rewatch again. Back then I made my own Book of Shadows like a spell book for regular daily life (self-care and healing) and still have it. Their supernatural powers of magic, making potions, fighting action scenes, comedy/happy/sad moments, love, family and sisterhood is amazing. I have 2 older sisters so I can resonate similar to the 3 main characters but loved all 4 of them in Charmed. Every time I hear the main theme song appear on TV or UA-cam, I think about Charmed. Maybe someday I can play the song in a piano cover video. This show changed my life in a different perspective and brought joy with magic. Thank you for showing the details in the Charmed house and meeting the owners in your channel. It's wonderful! Loved it! 😊💞

Oh wow! This is why I asked them if I coulf film. Cuz I, too, tried to get in there but had no luck, for 7yrs. So, when I was told that it was ok for me to film the experience, I was elated cuz I wanted u all the see what I was seeing, in case u can't be there. So this is for u, my friend. I'm so glad u enjoyed it, too. I hope whenever u go back, you'll magically go on a day the owners are there and they'll let u in. That would be epic! They are so kind and cool.

He and I spoke today about Charmed and reading tea leaves. Last night I watch a few episodes in a row, and ended with the season 5 episode 5 Gypsy episode. I hope u get to visit the house one day. It pops out amongst the other houses. It's so BIG and BEAUTIFUL. It even FEELS magical when you're standing in front of it. I've visited it several times, and was so SUPER excited when I got a message online from Miss Planaria asking if I wanted to see the inside. I had sent her a msg but she didn't see it til almost a year and a half later. It all worked out so well, though. In my mind, Grams, Patty and Prue guided her to my Facebook message. Hehe Anywho! I cannot fully put into words how much I love this house. It is my dream house. I dont like many of the modern houses. This house is so beautiful. From the outside to the inside. It has so much character. If I ever win lotto this is the type of house I would buy. Gorgeous.

The entire manor seems as if it was based on the design of that gray house. And, yes it’s a beautiful neighborhood. Michael Jackson recorded “Thriller” in the house to the right of the “Manor.”

This is super incredible certainly made me smile Terrill!!! During a not so happy time, but this series always brought some lite to my life if not escapism. I love the actresses all talented in their own rights. Still one of the best series of all time, I watch it twice if not three times a year in its entirety. We all need a magical spellbound of charmed binge watching from the craziness and toxicity of real life from time to time. I totally can see the joy this real-life experience brought you and your buddy.💜✨🥰 Pretty incredible how gracious the owners were to you both and the English lad in kitchen washing dishes. I agree with you, (we don’t talk about the awful reeboot) hopefully the original Halliwell Sister’s will reunite one day. 🌙🔮✨ I like how you even mentioned certain key elements even from some of the episodes within parts of the Manor, here to share with us OG’s or newbies. The Manor seemed to also have so much real life, history and authenticity. I “Loved” your charmed shirt I’ve got to get myself one, it’s a teen favorite of mine and in my early thirties still is. I miss my late, now paternal grandmother she would always make fun of me lol “You love your Charmed” she’s say... The memories this series holds and still does over the years. Anywho! That was such a cool story about your late grandma. It sounded like something a grandma would say, too. Lol. I bet she was a sweet lady. This has been such a wild era we've all been stuck in, but "thunder [always] precedes the sunlight" as Mariah Carey wrote & says on her 1999 song Rainbow. I, too, binge Charmed so much. I love it so much that I can't even articulate how much it truly means to me.
I did my best to make this video be something for all of us to see and appreciate for years to come; cuz I knew I was getting a majorly rare opportunity. It was all God, and was a year and a half in the making. No lie. Talk about magic. I jumped at the chance and must've told the owners THANK YOU, like a million times. Lol.
Though it's a fictional show, Charmed always reminds me that magic is very real, and that it comes in many forms. Feelings of love, comfort, elation, and being thought of are all forms of magic. We all feel them or have felt them, so if they're real then there's no telling what other kinds of magic are out there for us to discover and feel. I thank u for the sub, and hope u have a magical night, weekend and future. Unfortunately, they made the reboot canon and there's a Charmed multiverse now 🤨 They literally ended with the Vera sisters entering this house. Piper would have blasted them haha.
I think the kitchen in the house looks like the kitchen that was filmed in the unaired pilot episode (you can find it on YT!)

I went there 3 years ago, we saw the owner of the manor outside, but we got ashamed to ask him to let us in, we only took photos outside. Why you didn't go upstairs???
They have tenants living on the second floor. So, we couldn't venture up there. We met one of them, a young Englishman named Jack. He was in the kitchen doing dishes when we walked in. Such a nice guy.

Yeah. They're so beautiful. The show's production designer made an exact replica of them for the set. I felt like I was in Heaven, while standing at the bottom of the staircase. Magic was everywhere in that house 💫
WOW thank you so much for sharing ! It's really nice to see the attic that inspired them to build the attic inthe show. They are similar, but I'm sure nothing in that attic was aired. Maybe they film as a test or maybe they were not happy with the result and that's the reason the attic is the only thing that is filmed in a set for the pilot episode. You can notice distribution and windows are very different, as well as the height of the attic.
I'm surprised because I thought it was from the imagination of the creators, but finally you showed that it was really inspired by that georgeus attic. I knew about the first floor of the 1329 but I didn't know the attic was inspired too by something real.
The stairs of the first house have a room under them, maybe this was too an inspiration to the creators haha THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN !!

There were several significant changes made from the real house and the real attic to the show's set. It was so fascinating seeing what parts the set designer used and how they changed some things around.

pretty sure they just used the idea and exterior of the house everything was actually filmed on the studio lot, they actually werent even allowed to open the door all the way sometimes because the stage was in the background, holly admitted it in their hoh podcast

Have you been able to see the backyard of the house? :) There are no pictures that shows how it really looks like.
We weren't able to see the backyard, but to be honest, it didn't look like there they had a backyard. Also, there's no sunroom, like there is on the show. That spacious area was made just for the show.
In the Episode "Pardon my past" you can see the real backyard of the house.
You are soooo lucky. I want to see this house so much. I hope and I wish the charmed to come back soon in a 9th cycle but this time with the Prue 's return or the ne show with piper's sons and them.

It never seemed to fit with the Innes house but i just thought it's a set.
Also when they built the house on set it seems like they somehow mashed up the two houses together. At least that's how i see it in my mind watching your video. The conservatory would look more as part of the house with the attic? That house has the right side curved into a semicircular shape like we see the conservatory in the show having.
I wish we could have seen the inside of the other house too not just the attic. And to have seen the second floor of the charmed house too. I have a lot of wishes 😂

My goodness, the camera work is terrible. But from what I was able to see it seems like an amazing experience.
We didn't have a camera crew. We were invited and had to use what we had. The camera work WAS shaky, lol, and I knew it would be, but I was just happy to film the experience for u all and for myself to look back on, cuz i knew that I'd likely never get that opportunity again.

Haha It's probably cuz that's all we've seen happen in that house for 8 seasons. My life would be complete if Piper froze me or if Paige orbed me into the grandfather clock. 🤣 So you're not weird or crazy. I promise. A lot of us would kill to be thrown around in that epic house.

It looks to me that this is the house the Halliwell Manor studio set is based on. The lay out looks very similar to me.
I am convinced that the Charmed attic always was a studio set. Even in the unaired pilot.
In the unaired pilot as well as in the final aired pilot, the attic wasn't a set. As shown to me by the owners, their attic in the house they live in (across the street from the pink Charmed house) was the one used. But from the 2nd episode and on, a replica of that attic and of the interior of the pink house was built on the Paramount Pictures lot. The set designer changed a few things around to make each space bigger than the ones in the real houses, cuz they needed to make sure the cameramen could move arounf freely during filming.

Thanks! It's been almost a year, and I still feel the magic all over me from being in that house. To have gone on MLK Day of all days made it that much more memorable. The house is next to downtown L.A., so if you come here, you can go any day and at least take selfies on the steps/or the front lawn....everybody does. You'll almost always run into a fellow Charmed fan too. I do.

Nope. The inside was film on a soundstage at Paramount Pictures Studios. But outside shots were filmed at the house's location near downtown L.A.

Yeah. They actually own a number of the houses in that neighborhood. They saw that the homes weren't being preserved, so they bought some of them and fixed them up. It's quite remarkable. But gained lots of recognition in the area due to that.

@@cliffhorman6846 also, to answer your other question, it wasn't hard to arrange a visit/tour, but it took close to about 15 months. I'd found the owner's wife's name in an article about both of them. She has a unique name, so I found her on FB and sent her a kind msg asking if there's any way I could see the inside of the manor. Since she very, very rarely checks her FB msgs, I didn't hear back from her till January 17, 2020. I'd written to her on FB in October 2018. Lol. Her msg surprised me and totally excited me. Felt like I'd hit the lottery, cuz she asked if I'd still like to see the house AND said she and her husband would pretty much give me a personal tour (and that I could bring a friend ans film it for u all to see as well). They were/are both so AWESOME and engaging. I hope u get to do a tour of the manor one day. It actually FEELS just as magical as it looks. I guess it's cuz it sits upon the nexus of all magic. Haha Blessed be, my friend 😉

No, unfortunately u can't go in. I wrote to one of the owners (asking if she and her husband gave tours of the manor) but she didn't see my message till a year and a half later. When she did, for some reason, she kindly apologized for her late reply and then asked if I was still interested in seeing the manor.
I wrote her back IMMEDIATELY and said "YAAAASSSSS!" Haha. She and her husband just wanted to do something super-kind for a Charmed fan, and thanks be to God I was the one who was chosen. 😊 And they even let me bring my friend Christian too, and said it was okay to film the tour----for all the Charmed fans who can't be here. It was a MAGICAL experience, to say the least. One of the BEST days of my life. You can still visit the house but only take pictures of the outside. Blessed be, my friend. 💫
Of course it looks bigger in person as everything was replicated and filmed on a studio set replica the only things that are in the series is the outside of the house

I’m ... curious about the second floor is it restricted for public or ... i mean ... the Halliwell (used) Manor house ???
@@dds9563 Yeah, restricted. There are a few tenants that live up there, that's the only reason why. In the video, as we walked up to the door, the owner told us this. So we kept our voices low and stayed on the first floor. At around the 13min mark, we're in the kitchen with Jack, one of the tenants who was washing dishes.

Bonjour mon ami. I searched the internet and found the owner and his wife's contact information. As I explained to both of them in this video, I sent her a message, but she didn't see it for over a year. When she did, she read it and wanted to do something nice for a Charmed fan. So she invited me over for a personal tour of the Charmed house. They asked me not to give out their info, so I've honored that. And you should not knock on the front door. They welcome everyone to take pictures/selfies in front of the house, though. But they have people living there on the 2nd floor, so they don't want to be disturbed by Charmed fans. But I will say this, I've heard that the City of L.A. has tours of the house once a month (you only get to see the 1st floor). Google the Charmed house tours and see if you can find any information on it. I hope you get to see the inside like I did. It really feels MAGICAL inside. I honestly wanted to cry, but I was too excited. I hope this helps and that u do get to come here to L.A. to see the house. It's the most BEAUTIFUL house in the neighborhood.

I saw that too, and it's amazing. One day, I'd love to have one built and use it as a museum kinda...giving tours to fellow fans. I'd hire the original production designer from the show to help me make it 100% accurate.

Hi friend, greetings from Los Angeles. It was A DREAM COME TRUE just to step foot in the manor. I felt like I was in that episode in season 6 where Chris went back to the future and took of tour of the manor---which had been turned into a museum. It felt so surreal to me to be there, where the ladies shot all of the very first episode. I loved seeing how different it was from thr set that was later used. The owners were so amazing to me and my friend. January 20, 2020 was one of the BEST, most MAGICAL days of my entire life. I hope one day you get to visit the States and see the manor in person. People from all over the world visit it and take pictures in front of it when they come here on holiday. Most people never get to go inside, though. This was a rare gift, so I soaked it up and was happy to film it for myself and for all of you out there who love Charmed as much as I do.
Every now and then I do some googling to see if anyone has more information that I can soak up about Charmed and the sisters! When I seen your post was 5MONTHS ago! My dropped and I watched till the end and replayed it over ! I no exactly which episode! I can only dream of how magical it would have been! Even though it is still different inside! @@cheyannemeng-fincher2707 I didn't have to travel far at all. I live in Long Beach, California. Thats just a half hour (in a car) South of where the Charmed manor is. On the city's train, it only takes me a little more than an hour to get there. Taking pictures on the stairs was just amazing. We weren't allowed on the second floor, because the owners had tenants living up there. It was okay, because just getting to explore the first floor was more than what I had hoped for. I was laughing so hard when the owner told me that fans send the sisters mail to that house. Lol
