If I remember correctly Amos said his illness (can't remember what he said he had) causes him trouble with using heavier basses so he moved over to kiesel even though he said he sacrificed alot of tone for comfort but it's a good trade off instead of having alot of pain
@@andromeda6463 James? Yeah I really see that actually. Think the best comment I've heard about the band is "they all look like different interpretations of jesus
agreed, his new Kiesel ones sound good and all but the old Warwicks had a beautiful midrange thing that really made the bass gel with the two guitars man
@@neilfernandes5056 I really enjoy the sound of the Ibanez in the lockdown videos. Definitely different to the piercing cleans of the Warwick, but still a great tone.
That entry on "Can you see the sun?" and all the way down gives me bumps and shivers all the time, makes me wanna cry sometimes. What a beautiful, powerful piece
The use of different right hand techniques is masterful. Changing the dynamics of the song through a simple change even though playing the same chord progression. Wonderful. And i always love the way Amos "feels" the music. Excellent song writing.
what caught my attention when i first listened to the band was this guy. the only person i heard incorporate slap bass in this genre, really stands out makes the musis pop
Wow... I love your playing Amos. I'm a drummer and i'm in love with your playing. The best part is that it's all coming from that real and raw place within us. Goosbumps. Kick ass!!!
+Missing In Venice Trying that out, and as of yet, it's not really consistent for me. Upstrokes and downstrokes sound a bit differently, which i dont like, cause i tend to change the primary attack (to up instead of down) randomly. But will see :)
Any chance you could post a video about your right hand technique? I have absolutely no idea how you're doing the lower fews strings with your thumb or the triplets like in Concealing Fate I
i've been trying to figure that out every time i come back to this video: Ovangkol looks darker than Bubinga, so im pretty much sure this one has an Ovangkol body
Man how much I miss this raw Warwick tones in TesseracT. His Kiesel sounded amazing though.
I miss the Warwick tones a lot also 😢
If I remember correctly Amos said his illness (can't remember what he said he had) causes him trouble with using heavier basses so he moved over to kiesel even though he said he sacrificed alot of tone for comfort but it's a good trade off instead of having alot of pain
Now he’s rocking a dingwall on tour
@@rybo0072he tore his peck/bicep a while ago and it hurts him to play heavier basses I believe
Wow lord elrond is really good playing bass
David Rojas Castro Well when you're immortal you have a lot of time to master these skills.
+David Rojas Castro I'm not the only one who thinks everyone in Tesseract looks like they're from a fantasy universe?
Hugh Grant
Doik For some reason the tall guitarist (don't know his name, sorry) makes me think of Bigfoot
@@andromeda6463 James? Yeah I really see that actually.

the intonation and clarity on that warwick is just unbelievable
There's nothing like the tone of a Warwick.
agreed, his new Kiesel ones sound good and all but the old Warwicks had a beautiful midrange thing that really made the bass gel with the two guitars man
What do you think of his new Ibanez now?
I miss the Warwick tone in Tesseract
Ibanez tho )
@@neilfernandes5056 I really enjoy the sound of the Ibanez in the lockdown videos. Definitely different to the piercing cleans of the Warwick, but still a great tone.
Fcukin' agree.
Nice to hear that warwick tone shine through the mix again
This is the fifth time I've watched this and I'm not even really a fan of the band. It's just fantastic watching someone groove out to a solid song.
All of their songs are super groovy like this, how can you not be a fan??
Also not a fan..but love seeimg him jam to this track
Is that Stitch I see there on the floor?! Polaris is, in fact, a Lilo and Stitch concept album, confirmed!!
Nathan Hines Totally.
+TesseracT Sweet. lol
That entry on "Can you see the sun?" and all the way down gives me bumps and shivers all the time, makes me wanna cry sometimes. What a beautiful, powerful piece
So simple yet so groovy. These guys are inspiring.
+eloann m8 this isn't that simple, they got rhythms and polyrhythms all over the place
+BLFilms It's still a pretty simple groove. :)
+Jamie de la Sencerie It is indeed :-)
@@BrynLFilms This song isn't polymetric.
@@DoktorDurum well, it's not by any chance simple for any instrument man
Now THAT'S the sound of a Thumb!!!! You killed it!!
My favourite bass player of all time, I'd love to jam with Amos so much
The use of different right hand techniques is masterful. Changing the dynamics of the song through a simple change even though playing the same chord progression. Wonderful.
And i always love the way Amos "feels" the music. Excellent song writing.
Sounds fantastic buddy!
John Browne Cheers pal!
+John Browne you too
Hugh Grant, you are a hero.
what caught my attention when i first listened to the band was this guy.
the only person i heard incorporate slap bass in this genre, really stands out makes the musis pop
I cannot believe how incorrectly I've been playing this song.
I'm extremely humbled and can't wait to watch this a few million times
The recorded waveform behind Amos says everything about the bass playing and the music. It's so dynamic and musical. Beautiful work!
*Another unique, smart and very funny joke about Hugh Grant playing bass*
*Enthusiastic laughter*
Holy shit, coming from Amos’s playthrough of dystopia using another bass, this sounds even better.
This groove crushes, so awesome.
that waveform being recorded is so dynamic compared to the dystopia playthrough on the keisel bass...the tone is amazing..love it
Love the fluidity of his playing! Great job, love the mixing on this whole record, very dynamic!
Wow... I love your playing Amos. I'm a drummer and i'm in love with your playing. The best part is that it's all coming from that real and raw place within us. Goosbumps. Kick ass!!!
Excellent. Can't wait. Wish you guys had more time to post regularly on this channel.
All the these guys are really skilled musicians. I play the drums but enjoy watching Amos play the bass, so damn good!
Great bass playing! Also thanks for putting the sheet music/tabs online.
This dude literally got me into bass
I wish I could hear more bass-heavy mixes like this from these guys, I'm loving the tone!
That thumb is a pick now
+Missing In Venice Trying that out, and as of yet, it's not really consistent for me. Upstrokes and downstrokes sound a bit differently, which i dont like, cause i tend to change the primary attack (to up instead of down) randomly. But will see :)
+777malkavian Amos? Sounds pretty damn clean here!
+Missing In Venice No, talking about myself :D
It's a sweet technique, keep it up
+Missing In Venice Its the best way to do it, but definitely takes a while to learn how to do it clean.
i'm switching from guitar to bass playing, and this vid right here among others ive seen gets me so pumped up!!
The bass for this song in particular is so epic it hurts in my chest. I wish I could listen to something else. I can't.
that way of picking with thumb really amaze me
great song! thank you!
This song just gets better every time I come back and play it. I didn't love it at first but now I'm crazy about it. It's so good!
0:56 sounds exactly like a sound effect used in Borderlands for something. Can't quite put my finger on it...
6+ years later, but it sounds like reverse delay of sorts, I think TC Electronic makes a pedal with that effect
@@WildWildWeasel It's crazy that it's been 6 years, cause I still think about this all the time!
Interesting. The thumb broadneck. I have one of those. Pretty rare.
Even Stich on the floor looks amazed! :D
You're great, Amos!
That's why I adore bass guitars!
i love this song, with this bass it's really moving objects
great tone, even better technique. And those feels... ! Well played bruddah.
just beautiful... such great playing!
The man who inspired me to learn bass.
Amos Williams = Perfection!
one person disliked this. I still don't get how :/ this is one of the purist modes a person can be in. great job !
That bass is stupid good.
That was superb! - Awesome! -- Love the bass sound too. Great song - I enjoying playing drums to this song! have a great day! ;)
This is great!
best bass player ever, my thumb feels sore just watching this video
Beautiful ! I love your style, Amos :)
Hugh Grant's getting pretty good at bass.
Cannot unsee! here have my like
Krispynachos 99 It's almost uncanny though, am I right?!
i was looking for a song to practice my double thumbing. this will do quite nicely, thank you!
Love these videos! Please post more!
Amos amazing performance
Awesome ! Glad to see we use the exact same bass :)
Hugh Grant and a warwick bass, this is heaven!!
I wish I was a talented bassist like you Amos
love the sticth on the floor!
Thanks for the transcription!
That's quite interesting, five string Thumbs with humbucker pickups are really rare!
Even stitch is entranced by his bass playing. Look as he lay docile... Enamored!
amazing !! man -- u are the best !!!
I can't wait to get the Album... and the bass XD You guys are Awesome \m/
This is the best bass for that true TesseracT toan!
Wish he had shown the gear and how things are hoked up. Great playing and great tone.
I didn't even know who Hugh Grant was until i heard of this band and everybody was joking about their similarities in every video that Amos is in.
Technique on point as usual.
your thumb picking is something i've not even thought of.
Thank you! I learned something!!
Thanks for sharing the tabs!
You guys are so awesome! Awesome bass playing! We have similar styles when playing bass!
He groovin
Proud Warwick user here.😉👍🏻
Any chance you could post a video about your right hand technique? I have absolutely no idea how you're doing the lower fews strings with your thumb or the triplets like in Concealing Fate I
Don't know if I am qualified to question holding notes on the fret but hey I noticed.

Feelin' it.
Awesome bassline
so groovy! wishing i had a player like you to track bass on my solo project haha
just amazing man !
Besides the great playing and DAT TONE, loved the Stitch teddy :P
I has significant monitor envy.
***** I have significant BASS envy.
+Derek Blakley wholly crap that is a huge monitor
It's a TV, his laptop is hooked up next to it, relax :D
So sweet!
awesome man
anyone know what model warwick bass that is?
Seth Phillips Thumb BO5 BN
It´s Hugh"Elrond" Grant
This is so sick
I give that Warwick Thumb up!
I gotta get this bass god DAMN
Lotsa feelz, ty! Do I hear a fretless on Survival tho?
Please bring the sound of the mighty Warwick Thumb back to Tesseract 🥲
What program should i use to record in quality like that ? ofcourse i have soundcard just tell me what to buy and download
Oh man that was something else
that tone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!holy shit
Such a mean bass Tone. What wood does this thumb have for its body?
Looks like ovangkol to me.
Finn V. Arthur the more "affordable" version (a little bit less than 2000$) has an Ovangkol body, but I think this model has a Bubinga body
i've been trying to figure that out every time i come back to this video: Ovangkol looks darker than Bubinga, so im pretty much sure this one has an Ovangkol body
it is 100 percent ovangkol
Solid.
Do you guys have a tab of this song ?
More bass playthrough pleaaaase ^^
Brice Foulon Tab link and GPX file is in the description.
Oh thanks, didn't see :)
What does the BN in "Warwick Thumb BO BN" mean? Broad neck for the broadneck string spacing?
Trevor Okonuk Bolt Neck? I know BO means Bolt On, so that's redundant.
It must stand for broad neck, I've just never seen it in the name of a Warwick model because is typically a custom shop option.
Paulo Aloisio Got it, thanks.
Trevor Okonuk BN = Broad Neck.
What is the tunning for this song?
+monica guarana Don't quote me on this, but probably Drop A (A E A D G).
This bass would be perfect for covers of Light the Torch (KSE members).
Does anyone know the tuning?
Drop A. There's also tabs in the description :)
does anyone know what recording program Amos is using???
Pro tools 11 or 12 .
+Some random drummer thanks bro
which model is this bass? it's wonderfull
