Thanks for the video. I'm in the same situation as everyone else here. Several weeks (months?) of extreme heat down here in TX and the driver and passenger side front doors on my 2018 Charger have started doing this. Can't believe this video is 2 years old with so many people having this problem and Dodge still hasn't issued a recall.
This should be recalled just started happening to my 2018 charger passenger side thanks for the tips it's a freezing cold winter here at the moment Ill have to roll with it until it warms up a bit and I can fix it
Great video and instructions, as you can imagine I’m having the same issue, this helps a lot!! Did you do another clip to show the results, I looked and didn’t find anything, regardless, this helps a lot, thanks
This has happened to my 2017 Chrysler 300. I have only put 18k miles and I have an extended warranty on my vehicle. The dealership I bought it from states this is considered "wear and tear" and it's not covered under my warranty. I just got off the phone with Chrysler Corp..they tell me there's been no recalls on this and they can't help me. My local Chrysler dealership states they won't re-glue the panels, but all 4 door panels need to be completely replaced at a cost of around $1,700.00. What a total rip off! This is definitely NOT wear and tear, it's shoddy product and shoddy workmanship from a company that doesn't give a crap. Shame on Chrysler and all the other companies who do not proudly stand behind their products!!
How can they say normal wear and tear? My 2016 300 has 42000 miles and most of the plastic has warped to some degree. I have got a 1994 SL500 with nothing similar this has happened.
same on my 2017, im in the process of repairing mine now. Its a known issue with chrysler and other mfgs. like Ford. Its not a safety issue, so they dont have to issues recalls. Its just ugly. Same as the touch screens delaminating, altho that could be considered saftey, it makes the touch screen go bonkers sometimes, causing a distraction.
@@spencerguignet1210 my 17 300 has screen delamination went to dealer and tried to explain this was a safety issue he looked at me like I was from mars, my doors coming unglued to. With the end of the hemi comes the end of me ever buying another chrysler
Yeah I had the same thang happen to my 19 Blacktop Charger! At first I thought somebody tried to slim Jim my door. But then I watched a couple UA-cam videos that says the panels warp! So I took it to an interior shop and gave him $200 to fix it. He told me it took him less than an hour. He stapled the panel together somehow. And then used an epoxy over the staples to hide it. Smoothed it out and went over it with black spray paint for interiors.then re attached. Looks nuky
Is this been holding up? i've seen alot of different videos addressing this using different glue methods, but most have not held up over the summer heat.
Thank you for this video. My car 2014 dodge charger has done it on both drivers front door & passenger. I was quoted $2,300 for new ones & they refused to repair. I wish you lived in my area to assist in KC Mo. Has your dash done this?
I got the same problem with my 2016 charger RT rear passenger door, both panels against the console and now my dash pad is lifting! They definitely should recall this!
I used this video and some glue from harbor freight that looks just like that one but clear, also some plastic clamps to hold it down. So far its been a lil over a year and its still holding up
Got the same problem in my wife's 2015 Charger. I've got JB Weld high heat epoxy, supposed to be good to 550F,, it's what I'm used to. After 2 years,, How is your repair holding up?? Even used on ebay, those panels are running $300!!
Even if Chrysler/Dodge replaced them at owner’s expense, are they just replacing with the same type of panels that will warp eventually anyway? This should be a recall. Crazy
Tbh this is every door panel since 2011 in chargers and Chrysler 300’s only i make those upper door panels every day and if they get a rolled edge or we have to peel them up for what ever reason we just super glue the edge down and leave it for 10 min we don’t even tape it or anything just glue it push it down and then it’s good
Happens with all chargers basically. When the door panels get too hot they warp its bs mines just did i... I'll prolly just try n stable it all thexway across someone said that worked for them
for less wait time and stronger hold won't applying the glue than heavy duty staple allow for quicker re-assemble and usage of door instead of 1-day wait period?? But i like the epoxy idea aswell.....
I have a 2015 and this started happening to me thank to you I fixed it but I did use Gorilla glue seems to be good said it is high heat resistant so we'll see thank you again for the video..
@@williamperdew4746 I had to redo one door recently that gets the most sun throughout the day but the opposite side is holding up still. I just went to harbor freight yesterday and they still have the blue plastic little pry bar kit to pull the panels...that's what I used along with their glue and plastic clamps and it was a pretty easy job.
I have a 2018 300 and is doing the same thing just a think within three years kind of workmanship that we getting. This is totally a later generation issue. Fight y’all. DO NOT PUT UP WITH IT. FILE COMPLAINTS RAISE HELL! Read your warranties. Defects like that are COVERED.
I have this same issue with my 2017 Chrysler 300. Mine was leased and I went to the dealer and they said it would have been covered with the standard 3 year/36,000 miles. Unfortunately it didn’t start doing it until year 4 😡 both my passenger front and back door panels and my driver’s door is starting it now. So pissed
I bought a 2018 Chrysler 300 and both front doors are doing this and I keep mine in a garage. I'm so mad I'm ready to start raising hell. They want to charge me 3,030 dollars for 2 new door panels. That's not gonna happen.
My 2017 Daytona 392 has both passenger door panels warping and dodge will do nothing. Called consumer affairs and they said the same thing. Completely unacceptable. I work for Hyundai and we will repair literally anything if it’s under 5 year/60k miles. I know Hyundai has the best warranty but still I’ve heard of people going in at 20k miles and dodge won’t repair the warped door panels. Such a disappointment…

My 2016 Mercedes GLE 350 did the same thing, thanks for the video.
Same exact thing happen to my 2017 Chrysler 300...thanks for this video...I was frustrated considering the low miles!
It happens because of the heat coming in through the windows

My 2018 Chrysler 300 has had both front doors do this 🤬 thanks for the video! Gonna try this this weekend. Wish me luck lol
@William Perdew yes used this method and it worked. With the exception of one tiny spot that I prob didn't put enough glue on

Yeah man my 14 charger started this bs after a couple hot days. Found this and I really appreciate you for it.
My son's 2017 has the same issue. I was thinking of trying a heat gun to soften it and see if I can put it back.
Still have to bond it with something. Remove the weatherstrip first so you dont get glue on it like this video.

@knite. so is it holding up? I guess its been 1 month after the repair hopefully panel wrap is in tact.
