    When you buy a Insta360 Link and this USB to HDMI converter, then you are nearly spending 500$ to connect your webcam to an HDMI port. You’d better off buying a Sony ZV-1 and you get a really great video quality. I consider 180$ still way to expensive. These solutions start to become interesting when we’ll get in the 50$ price range.

      Totally. Too expensive to install a webcam that normally have less quality than a normal camera.

      That's also why I suggested it really only makes sense for webcams that are not trying to be just normal cameras, like the microscope or the document cam

      Which setup would be simple and ideal for UA-cam and Facebook LIVE of my yoga and fitness teaching?
      I have changed between three positions: standing, sitting, and sleeping on a mat.
      1) a remote control for switching standing, sitting, and sleeping postures each for 15 minutes duration.
      2) I would like a better camera than a mobile front camera.
      I checked Osmo DJI pocket, Obsbot tiny, Insta360 Link USB cam, ASUS zenfone 8 flip, or mobile with pop-up camera. Not sure which will be appropriate. Would appreciate your kind suggestion.

      20ms is half a frame if shooting at 25fps and 1 frame at 50fps. If you're stuck with 29.97fps you'll have to work it out yourself or move to somewhere that has sensible frame rates with a 50Hz power grid. 🙂

    Thanks for the great information! So I finally picked up an ATEM mini pro after the price drop. My Mac couldn't hand the multiple webcams with OBS. I just purchased the TAO version of the converter and I am disappointed by the lag. I tried it on a Logitech Brio, and it worked, but unless I am doing something wrong it only worked in manual mode (no access to the Logitech software to control it). I also tried it with an Elgato Facecam . . . no response. Again, unless I did something wrong. I think it is finally time for me to make the mirrorless plunge for my primary camera.

    Thank you for the video. Am I missing something? As far as I can tell, there is no way to control a webcam’s settings as the Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter bypasses the computer (so not recognized by webcam software) and the Atem Software Control’s camera settings-to my knowledge-only work with a few select high-end camera models. My Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter just arrived today and it works with my Brio. However, the Brio’s default settings are overexposed and have auto exposure turned on which results in ugly exposure shifts. I believe white balance is also on by default and that can present problems. I was about to purchase the Osbot Tiny 2 4K today, but must first determine whether it’s possible to adjust its camera settings while going through the Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter into the Atem. Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  9 місяців тому +1

      Correct, this takes the place of the computer so there's no option to control the USB webcam's settings. If you're looking for a good option to use with the ATEM, check out the new OBSBOT Tail Air, it's like the other OBSBOT webcams, but it has HDMI output too! And you can control it from an app or from the computer.

      @@fullmoon3077 Hi, by far the simplest solution would be to plug an Obsbot tiny in to a computer and use OBS to stream (no need for a HDMI converter, just USB). You don't even need a remote control as the Obsbot cam will track you as you move around. If you wanted to go with multiple cameras you can still do this in OBS. I personally use a Blackmagic ATEM Extreme ISO as I only ever stream to one destination at a time. Hope this helps.

      1) Does OBS-Tiny track "full body" or object?
      I need full body tracking and not just face tracking.
      I am wondering how will the camera behave during sleeping position either up/down/back face. :)
      2) Does the tracking work on zoom call / UA-cam live?
      3) Hope this cam can also connect with an android phone through USB (not just PC)!

      @@fullmoon3077 Hi,
      1. I have not tried them with full body tracking but it should be ok as it seems to stay in its last position if it loses your face.
      2. the camera itself does the tracking so yes it would work in zoom.
      3. as long as the android phone has a usb c port and supports UVC capture ( most recent ones do ) it should be ok.
      and yes I do use 2 ( one tiny and one tiny 4k (downscaled)) of them with my blackmagic, I also have two standard camcorders attached.

      @@shauntronics Great help with details.
      1) Do you mind checking the body tracking is working on your tiny or tiny 4K? I will have better clarity then. (which is better btw?)
      2) I mostly teach live from parks. So mobile will be easier to set and remote control. Does this OBS-tiny take a lot of power from mobile phones? or a standard power bank would do the job?
      I use a Samsung S9 phone. It seems from a google search that S9 supports UVC capture.
      I am searching for the optimal equipment for the outdoor live :)
      I have two choices: Either I use an external webcam and use a mobile as a display. Or I use the mobile rear camera and use a display near to me. Or third use Zenphone 8-flip and use the flipped or pop-up front camera.

    HI Aaron, I would just like to confirm.. have you actually tried to plug a camera @ 2:06 with a USB-A plug to the USB-A port of the OBSBOT UVC converter? Did it work? Thank you Aaron 🙂

    Q. Will it work with a dslr camera like the Canon t7i that can be used as a web camera with an usb cable?

      @aaronpk  2 роки тому

      As long as the camera supports UVC it should work, but I know some of them require special drivers and those wouldn't work

    Some Webcams look better when not in "auto everything" mode, when the user manually adjusts brightness, contrast, white balance, etc. How would one tweak those settings, if at all, when using the OBSBOT?

    • @aaronpk
      @aaronpk  2 роки тому

      I don't think that's possible right now since the OBSBOT device is hosting the webcam, unless there's a way to set up the webcam on the computer and have it remember its settings internally.

      A sponsored video is when I get paid to make a video. I have done a few sponsored videos, but not very many. If a company sends me a device without me asking, especially if there is no expectation of making a video about it, that's not a sponsorship. I do always disclose if I was given the product, so maybe you missed that during this video.
