When you buy a Insta360 Link and this USB to HDMI converter, then you are nearly spending 500$ to connect your webcam to an HDMI port. You’d better off buying a Sony ZV-1 and you get a really great video quality. I consider 180$ still way to expensive. These solutions start to become interesting when we’ll get in the 50$ price range.
That's also why I suggested it really only makes sense for webcams that are not trying to be just normal cameras, like the microscope or the document cam

If someone wants to know, the DELAY of this device is about 0.02 seconds... source is a video of "Pavement Media" on the same device where he tested this.

You didn’t mention resolution. I haven’t worked much with webcams in this capacity but I assume they must have a native/default resolution that it uses?
Thanks for the great information! So I finally picked up an ATEM mini pro after the price drop. My Mac couldn't hand the multiple webcams with OBS. Thank you for the video. Am I missing something? As far as I can tell, there is no way to control a webcam’s settings as the Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter bypasses the computer (so not recognized by webcam software) and the Atem Software Control’s camera settings-to my knowledge-only work with a few select high-end camera models. My Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter just arrived today and it works with my Brio. However, the Brio’s default settings are overexposed and have auto exposure turned on which results in ugly exposure shifts. I believe white balance is also on by default and that can present problems. I was about to purchase the Osbot Tiny 2 4K today, but must first determine whether it’s possible to adjust its camera settings while going through the Osbot UVC to HDMI Adapter into the Atem. Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Correct, this takes the place of the computer so there's no option to control the USB webcam's settings. Have I got this wrong then.?
I've got the insta 360 link.
I've just purchased the Yalla box Pro.
Can I not plug and play through the USB C input into the Yalla?
The YoloBox can already take USB webcams, so you can connect it directly. This is for when you want to use USB webcams with video switchers that don't have a USB input themselves.
@@aaronpk Thank you for your kind response.
HI Aaron, I would just like to confirm.. have you actually tried to plug a camera @ 2:06 with a USB-A plug to the USB-A port of the OBSBOT UVC converter? Did it work? Thank you Aaron 🙂
Q. Will it work with a dslr camera like the Canon t7i that can be used as a web camera with an usb cable?
As long as the camera supports UVC it should work, but I know some of them require special drivers and those wouldn't work
Some Webcams look better when not in "auto everything" mode, when the user manually adjusts brightness, contrast, white balance, etc. How would one tweak those settings, if at all, when using the OBSBOT?
I don't think that's possible right now since the OBSBOT device is hosting the webcam, unless there's a way to set up the webcam on the computer and have it remember its settings internally.
Please measure the latency
Incredible and Thanks :)
Q) I wonder why the YB original is not compatible with my generic USB micoscope. Does this hapen too with the YBP?
I ask this because my android phones can actually work with this usb microscoped
Can I connect a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 not USB-C camera into this device?
Was wondering the same thing here
It’s not available on the Canadian Amazon store….it has to be imported from the US….which will take over a month to arrive.
Check for the RGBLink version! Maybe that one is easier to find.
Which setup would be simple and ideal for UA-cam and Facebook LIVE of my yoga and fitness teaching?
I have changed between three positions: standing, sitting, and sleeping on a mat.
1) a remote control for switching standing, sitting, and sleeping postures each for 15 minutes duration.
2) I would like a better camera than a mobile front camera.
I checked Osmo DJI pocket, Obsbot tiny, Insta360 Link USB cam, ASUS zenfone 8 flip, or mobile with pop-up camera. Not sure which will be appropriate. Would appreciate your kind suggestion.
Hi! does it work with osmo pocket 1 and 2?
As far as I know, the DJI Pocket 1 and 2 don't act as webcams. There's special software someone made to get it to work but it's not officially supported by DJI
Hi, great video (as always), Does the tracking features work with the OBS bot via HDMI or do you need a computer for that? :) thank you
Yes! The OBSBOT tracking works with this without a computer!
Greatttttt, I'm the first to watch and comment, from Nigeria
I don't think I heard the brand said out loud before... but I assumed it was O-B-S-Bot saying each letter like OBS. But I guess it could be eitherway! Curious if the company had an acronym in mind when named?
I actually asked them for the official pronunciation and they sent me this IPA transcription: /əbˈsbɒt/
So the logitec didnt work?
Booo... if it doesn't work with a C920? What's the point?
can it work with the logitech Brio?
I don't have the Brio to test with but I would assume so.
@@aaronpk I bought it and it did work
It's a good option
4x raspberry pi 4s for that money.
Boot time is the caveat.
I've tried this with a Pi and never been happy with the video quality
@@aaronpk a pi does give full camera control and can output 4k60 over hdmi.
Quality depends upon the camera connected.
be great if there was an SDI version
That latency is atrocious though.
This is just a tiny Linux pc running some webcam drivers. You better hope it includes the driver for your USB webcam or you are out of luck
Thankfully the UVC standard means most new webcams will work without special drivers!
@@aaronpk good luck with that. If it works at all with generic drivers it will be a degraded quality. There is a reason why webcams come with their own proprietary drivers and control software.
You should look up UVC, it has completely changed how webcams work in the past several years. I can't even remember the last time I've had to install a driver for a webcam!
Schneller bitte.
?
why dont you just say its a sponsored video?
A sponsored video is when I get paid to make a video. I have done a few sponsored videos, but not very many. If a company sends me a device without me asking, especially if there is no expectation of making a video about it, that's not a sponsorship. I do always disclose if I was given the product, so maybe you missed that during this video.
Add Mevo Start to the doesn't work list. Very disappointed, nothing personal, just sucks that I bought a set of Mevo Starts and have not once used them for streaming.
Hey Aaron, I wanted to add the Obsbot camera to my ATEM setup but I just watched this video and he mentioned there is significant audio latency…. Did you experience this as well. ua-cam.com/video/Ya9Ssccd1ZA/v-deo.html
Yeah there will be a delay of the video and audio through this converter
@@aaronpk So no separate audio… if I do AFV will it be in synch?
it's not affordable. lol
This converter is too big and too much expensive. It's a pitty.
Does it work with yolobox pro ?
