"Looking forward to the weighing video coming up!" Didn't have to wait very long for that at all. It's good to see that the issue with Lorcana pack weights may be fixed for now.
Awesome to see this experiment, thanks for doing so! I buy without hesitation anyway because I really didn't think weighing packs would prove anything, and you proved that. Thank again!
I did this with a few boxes (not at the store) and had the same results. There's no telling by weight. I had pack with a common foily Simba weighing more than anything before or since. Definitely a waste of time. Also it took 10 boxes til I pulled an enchanted from the 1st and 2nd chapter. I gave up and just started buying singles for the decks I need.
I bought 2 booster boxes. There were 5 Legendary cards in each. 2-Ursula 2- Robin Hood 1- Foil Maleficent 1- Non Foil Maleficent The other 4 were different Watching these videos on Inklands, I’ve seen lots of duplicates coming out of the same boxes. Why is something so rare seem so common and something so common (Dalmatian puppies) seem so rare? Out of the 2 boxes, I only got 2 puppies, 1- Foil Lucky, 1- regular Lucky, 1-Rolly.
What we need to see are enchanted pulls from the lighter weight packs (compared to most others) to then have data to support that weight does not matter. Enchanteds may not necessarily be in the 'heaviest' of the packs but it looks like we're only seeing the enchanted pulls from packs that are on the heavier side (~10%).
Yeah. I think with time as they add different types of cards or foils with varying weights, this will get better. Pokémon for example has regular foils, EX cards with a foil pattern, EX cards with a textured foil pattern, illustration rares with one foil pattern, full arts with like 3 different texture patterns, SIRs with different texture patterns per card, gold cards with different foiling and texture… if lorcana slowly moves that direction there will be so much opportunity for different weights in the packs that the “problem” will be solved.
Love these videos. One thing though you compared weight of the enchanted to the non foil legendary. I think it would have been more accurate to compare another foil to the enchanted by weight.
You’re 100% right… I dunno how I missed that. Just did, and the foils are still pretty consistent and about .15-.16g less than the enchanted. Thanks for the tip!
I unfortunately am an idiot and don’t use a mic, just my iPhone in a point and shoot way. I’m working up the courage to swap to a traditional setup and use a mic and camera haha.
I remember seeing this guy weighing packs in public and I was really weirded out by him. But props to him I guess for having the guts to do it in public :/, because I'd be too embarrassed and I like testing my luck.
Same. The “fun cost” of opening packs is something I still don’t mind haha. I don’t sell anything so just opening stuff is fine-enchanteds are nice surprises.
Weighing the enchanted card vs a cold foil would be the best comparison since the other cards don't have any foiling. Still shouldn't matter much though.
29:39 you comment about the promo stitch enchanted in boosters? Are they legit? I saw someone post a short saying that it is a fake product... now I'm confused 😅
They are legit, they were accidentally put in some of the set 3 booster packs. Which is not to be surprised considering all the other quality issues that they have had up to this point.
Awesome thanks for this. I hope everyone who weighs packs at stores feels like an idiot and wasting their one and only life trying to screw others over. GG
Yeah, but I dunno what can be done to fix that. I mean, the materials weigh more to make those heavy thick enchanted cards. Not much you can do really.
A lot of people have been weighing packs with the assumption that heavier packs have enchanteds, so it can be a little risky to buy loose packs. Just a little experiment!
So, you determine that weight doesn't matter but then towards the end of the video you say the rest are light packs so you don't expect to pull an enchanted...
I'm not a fan of people that weigh packs of sealed product. If they're that worried, leave it sealed and set it aside for a few decades and then sell it sealed. If someone ever came to my booth with a scale and ask if they could weigh some of my sealed product, I'd tell them no and to leave my booth and alert the other dealers nearby to them.
Yeah, I get that it’s a little standard for vintage Pokemon packs, but from a buyer perspective I would just assume anything marked unweighed means light. Hopefully in 10-15 years lorcana isn’t like that haha.
When you KNOW FOR A FACT that you can weigh 1st and 2nd set boosters, the dummy is the one not doing it, tbh. I did it for curiosity. Picked out an enchanted Aurora due to weight difference. If it works, people will do it. Blame RV. I still opened the whole box. It was a good box with decent foils, including a whole new world, which was arguably better than scamming people with non-enchanted boosters.

Cool opening! Good to see that weighing doesn't seem to matter for this
Awesome to see this experiment, thanks for doing so! I buy without hesitation anyway because I really didn't think weighing packs would prove anything, and you proved that. Thank again!
Thanks for sharing the science experiment! Congrats on the enchanted! Glad to see they hopefully remediated that issue!

Tysm for this video. I was worried about this weighing thing being an issue. Feel a lot better now, can confidentially buy now.
Thanks for the video, congrats on the Enchanted

That is weird! Out of two boxes I’d have expected a full playset of all commons at least.
Thanks for doing this. I can buy blisters without hesitation now
I pulled an Ursula deceiver of all error card too. She's supposed to be floodborn not storyborn.
Thanks for doing all of this scientific research. It definitely helps out the community! 👏👏👏

I wonder if foil Locations make packs heavier since there's more art to foil out. Also, what mic do you use?

You have to be crazy to take a scale to the store.😂
Weighing the enchanted card vs a cold foil would be the best comparison since the other cards don't have any foiling. Still shouldn't matter much though.
Yeah, I’m a dummy and didn’t consider that. I tested it and they’re still consistently like .15 heavier than a cold foil.
Did you happen to note the serial numbers on the various packs and see if there were significant weight differences within like numbered packs?
I didn’t, and I wish I did. I did this with another batch to confirm and did note the serial numbers. That video will be coming soon.
Thank you for this!
I weighed 40 packs in cardboard of the first chapter The heaviest one was a legendary foil but after opening them all I pulled an enchanted
400 dollars
bros like “I don’t believe you, imma weigh it 🍃😂”
Everyone talking about the round and square corners makes me wonder if that how they are hiding the weight
Yeah, not to give a spoiler, but I did this again with more packs and the rounded corners make a big difference. That video will be coming soon!
weighting the packs by themselves is that really counts
also weight all rarities card by themselves
29:39 you comment about the promo stitch enchanted in boosters? Are they legit? I saw someone post a short saying that it is a fake product... now I'm confused 😅
Hmm. I’ve only seen the ones on Reddit and I was pretty sure they were legit. Could be wrong though!
GG
Still not great, because in theory I could open every pack that weighs 25.8 or higher and drastically increase my chances of opening an enchanted
Yeah, but I dunno what can be done to fix that. I mean, the materials weigh more to make those heavy thick enchanted cards. Not much you can do really.
What’s the purpose of weighing?

I’m nothing if not consistent! Haha. Hard to get out of the mindset that heavier cards = heavier packs.

yea I never ever buy packs that arnt from a sealed booster cuz make zero sense for it to be open before you hop online super sketch
Jesus, the brutal way you open those makes me cringe.
Ha! Am I being tough on them? Or is it just my terrible setup making it seem loud next to the camera?
Haha no just the way you open the packs, it’s probably fine, but I personally treat my packs like I’m doing brain surgery 😂
Hes literally opening them normally...@@Situaties
