why always the need to minimize these cameras, "slightly better quality iphone" not even close, a sony RX100 has MUCH better IQ than an iphone, the Ricoh GR is in another league. iphone
I’m not downplaying the image quality out of the camera - but the sensor and hardware are aging, yet still selling for the same price as they were 5 years ago. That’s the only reason I don’t think the GR III is necessarily worth the price any more - it’s still a great product.
yes, it's worth it for sure. and if the difference of having a ricoh griii and an iphone/android phone isn't that noticeable, then maybe it's a matter of difference between a photographer and a person who just wants to take photos.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I never said the photo quality was the issue, I actually really like the photos that the GR III produces. It’s the other issues and age of the model that makes me hesitant to recommend it, that’s all :)
Thanks for watching! I do really like the images the GR III produces and the size of it, I just don’t find myself reaching for it often enough after a few months.
I just ordered a GRiii for my next trip which is only a few weeks away. wanted the APS-C sensor with me. I do agree though, people should be waiting for the next edition if they can (more pixels? better build quality? flash? tilting screen?). the next version needs to be waaaaaaay better than an iPhone.

In addition to my Sony equipment, I have both the Ricoh GRIII and GR IIIx and love them both because they are small and the image quality is good 🙂

Thanks for watching, sounds like we’re on the same page as far as how good this camera is in this day and age!
Even MFT with good pancake prime will work as well.
Thanks for watching and sharing! 👌🏻
how is fujifilm owning the pocketable cameras rn ?
Their latest X100VI is flying off the shelves and getting rave reviews, it’s even harder to find here in Canada than the Leica Q3 currently.
Are there any other pocketable cameras that are newer?
Fuji X100VI is brand new and only slightly larger than the GRIII, very hard to find though!!
@@ADesignersLife Honestly, it's not pocketable. You can put GR in your pant pocket, it would not be possible with X100.
