It was stated in the game that he could easily become champion if he moved to another region, but he chose not to as he wants to beat Leon
Imagine him fighting Cynthia or Alder.
This could be possible in BD/SP, if the actually reinstate National Dex, or at least add the new one

I did a run as Leon, here's a tip:
With the exception of the galarian starter, all of his Pokemon are found in Raid dens, including Charmander.
That actually makes a lot of sense, my only question is if you would start with a galarian starter or not considering he only got it after he was Champion.
I thinck leon got his charmander from mustard since its a gmax charizard and mustard has a gmax venusaur and blastoise
@@rhyflux5076 I went with sobble, because, Scorbunny had a type overlapping with Charizard, and I didn't want to surprise trade until I got Rhyperior.

Ah yes Raihan, the DRAGON TYPE gym leader. He only uses dragon types, because that’s his specialty. It’s definitely not lizards or weather.

@@michaelkowal3230 yes but Raihan is a gen 8 leader and there was loadssss of dragons to pick from. In gen 1 the only dragon was Dragonite. But it was extremely stupid for GameFreak to only have one fully evolved dragon in kanto and then make a “dragon” trainer 😂 Gyrados should have been water/dragon and Aerodactyl rock/dragon to make it a little bit better

I didn't dynamax, its not hard, you just need something that can tank it. Exept for the first gym, wanting to try out, you know

You do know Leon's team right, he's got a fire type in charmander, but as you can't get that as starter, without trading it. Building he's team woukd take a little while

@@wwerules000 actually leon went to isle of armor to train before departing on his journey to become champion so I'm assuming he got charmander during his time in the dojo since in the gameplay itself u get two options: bulbasaur and squirtle upon arriving in the dojo.
Theory:
Leon got the charmander from the isle or armor, and that’s why you can only choose from bulbasaur and squirtle
(He got it to give to the next champion after giving you your starter or smth)
Hop: "Kinda solid all around, but switches out good Pokemon for bad ones in a struggle to constantly improve. Early-game struggle is entirely dependent on starter; Grookey is the best for him, because the other two put him at a major disadvantage for Milo (Sobble) and Nessa (Scorbunny). For some reason only uses up to 5 Pokemon in the SEMIFINALS even when we KNOW he has more in reserve. Couldn't beat Leon without using common sense and utilizing a full team, especially the god-bird himself, Cramorant."
Marnie: "Morpeko got grumpy and refused to cooperate, passes up Pokemon on her routes quite frequently. Would get absolutely destroyed if she played Sword. Her early struggles are probably the reason Team Yell were working overtime to sabotage enemy trainers, to give her a chance to get into the swing of things. Overall, can get to the finals against Leon, but would have to change up her tactics to win. Could do it, but it'd be a toss-up."
Bede: "Ruined by absolutely everyone in the early-game. Milo, Nessa and Kabu all destroy him. Would need Oleana to legit buy his badges and carry him through the early game unless he was on that grind hard. Once he passes these three, though, it's smooth sailing. His late-game team is actually pretty strong, and both his Psychic and Fairy teams stand a chance at succeeding. Quite likely to beat Leon."
Raihan: "Having a surprisingly fast skyscraper dragon as a starter is a pretty excellent start, so R.I.P Milo. For ONCE Nessa isn't the roadblock she was for every other character. No, that honor goes to Bea. She's the game-over scenario for Raihan. But because Raihan can't have Thunder Punch on Vibrava yet, using that free slot on something else that's technically illegal seems fair. Or just play Shield. Either way, get past her and you can shoot straight up to Leon with few bumps along the road, where you hilariously lose due to being out-Dragon'd despite being the Dragon-type Gym Leader. Raihan has not one, but two battles which he has no shot at winning without changing up his team and movesets, as well as catching new Pokemon to bulk up his team. Sadly, couldn't beat Leon. Makes sense; it'd be a bit of a problem if he could just walk up to Leon and win at any point in the previous championship tournaments and just hadn't done it, because plot contrivances."
Ah, another one to add to the list. Thanks my dude, can't wait for Leon! I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to use a team that actually has diverse typing instead of being locked-in to Bede's mid-life-crisis monotyping and Raihan's rocky road! See you then!

Considering the Wild area plus max raid battles unlocks over half if not all of the type choices before the first gym... plus leveling up is easier in the game...

It could actually be pronounced as Ryan, considering that the other Gym Leaders have real names.
As to why it’s spelled like Raihan, I have 2 guesses.
1. He’s obsessed with weather, so his name looks more like Rain.
2. Rai = Lightning in Japanese, which we’ve seen on Raichu and Raikou (IDK about Han)
Makes me wonder why he isn’t an electric gym leader instead.
Edit: Maybe Han is short for handsome, because he is attractive. The h has to be silent though so IDK.

I guess if think about if Riahan wasn’t that much full of himself and just use all that rock, fire, dragon power.
He certainly brought the sandstorm and show why that he’s the strongest gym leader and the true rival of Leon.
He had the skill, brain and time to breed and catch so many rare and powerful Pokémon.
It just need a bit more balancing, focus on singular battles, also cool down that ego and rehydrate more with milotic. Hehe

You didn't have to breed torkoal to get yawn, you just clear a space for a new attack, leave it in daycare with a Pokemon from the same egg group and Torkoal will learn that move.
So I did not know about this at all!? Thank you for letting me know, this is a really awesome mechanic! Too bad I already finished the Leon run with breeding, but I'll def know for future runs after especially since some of the other gym leaders and trainers have egg-move pokemon.

@@VaskoGames I've been playing it a lot recently, so . . .
I think what I would most be interested in as far as prior games would be Ultra/Sun/Moon. Since in that game you have all the title defense battles after becoming champion, and not just the same one each time. Just treat Kukui as the champion fight for them, or Hau I suppose. Could they become champion?
Also a bit of a meme or joke answer, but assuming Hau tried the Galar league would he do better than hop? Since many people said at first that Hop was basically just Hau again. That could be an interesting video I think.
Hey Mr UA-camr I like Ben 10 n Pokemon I am actually playing Pokémon sword for the first ever time sadly I can't read or work a map and yes my fundus memory so far is always ending up in Nessa's gym some out I have been 6 gyms i don't know how long i have been playing it but i like it also i like your commentary by the way
i would be super interested in you doing a piers champion run, since his team operates much more like a competitive type team than a typical gym leader team! also the no dynamaxing thing would probably be a fun-yet-frustrating challenge.
EDIT: i totally forgot that piers' obstagoon is one of the few trainer pokemon in the game that is EV trained! his defense & special defense are maxed out, respectively.

If he would just dynamax his gigalith instead he would probably win because charizard is a flying and fire and using a ground type move is twice as effective but i understand why he'd want to have duraludon be the one to defeat his charizard but because duraludon is part steel he'd have no chance but that's what i like about his character! His determination is just amazing! Even though your pokemon may have a disadvantage you can't help but want them to be the one to claim victory for you!

It's a neutral matchup between charizard and duraludon, duraludon is part dragon which resists fire. Gigalith with the quad effectiveness would be nice, but Leons Charizard knows solarbeam so gmax charizard would outspeed and tear through gigaltihs poor special defense with max overgrowth. My headcanon is that his gigalith defeated leons charizard in the past so he taught charizard solarbeam to keep it in check.

@@TsukiCho Leon could've sent out charizard early but still end up winning, it would explain why Leon thinks so highly of Raihan since he pushed him to win a battle without charizard.

I doubt Leon adjusted the team specifically for Eternatis, as you can take Eternatis into the battle with Leon and it is extremely useful there having attacks that are super effective against at least half of Leon's team, and Dynamax cannon doubles in power against Dynamaxed pokemon, making it good against G-max Charizard as well.

Curious Fact: With the ep.1 of pokemon evolutions, the canon starter pokemon for leon is grookey, since in the episode, the player uses an Inteleon and Paul uses an Scorbunny
