So lemme get this straight
1. Learn every possible inversion of a Maj7add9 chord so well you can use any at will
2. Practice modern progression(s) such as (I - IV - bVI) in this quality keeping the top note the same
3. Practice reharming melodies subbing the different chords in the progression in whilst having the same top note in from the melody

Russell Ferrante from the Yellowjackets was really the first guy to popularize these voicings as far as I know.

You guys are correct, they are just major 9 chords. But what makes this idea work is the constant structure of having one major played over another. Is this instance it makes sense to think of it as playing the major triad in the right hand a fifth above the one played in they left hand.

대학오고 피아노를 놓았었는데... 다시 찾고싶어지게 만들어주셨어요 원래 클래식만 파다가 지루해져서 재즈강습도 받아봤지만 원했던 보이싱과 코드진행보다 9도 13도 인버전만 주구장창하다가 또 지루해져서 관뒀었는데 이영상보고 아 이분영상 처음부터 차근차근 연습하면 재미있겠다는 생각이 들었어요 오랜만에 먼지쌓인 건반 닦고 피아노 앞에 앉아봐야겠어요 게다가 어디서 온 보이싱인지 레퍼런스까지 해주시니 더 재미있고 흥미가 생깁니다 이쪽 음악을 사랑하시는것도 느껴지구요 여러모로 영상에서 감명 많이 받고 갑니다!

질문이 있는데, G코드 악보에서 D코드가 나왔다고 했을 때 편곡하는 순서는 어떻게 되나요?제가 생각한 순서가 맞는지 조언 부탁드리겠습니다.. ㅎㅎ
1. 멜로디 음을 찾는다
2. 예를들어 그 음이 D라면 그 음을 탑노트로 해서 낼 수 있는 보이싱 코드를 찾는다. ex). D/G, G/C, Bb/Eb3. 쳐보고 이쁜걸 고른다.
*여기서 의문점. 3개의 보이싱을 고른 기준은 "탑노트" 하나였으니까, G코드의 악보든 A코드의 악보든, 혹은 그 코드의 악보에서 해당 코드가 무엇이든 결국 상관없이 탑노트로만 결정이 되는것인가요?
즉.. "언제" 이 보이싱을 사용하는지 궁금합니다 ㅎ.ㅎ

Hi from Canada, Jimin. Great tutorial! I'd love to see you expand on this concept of stacked triads some more. I believe its also something that Bill Evans would do all the time, using various combinations of triad pairs.
