The Russian UGVs shown in the episode were actually theoretical manned APCs within the ARMA3 game platform. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a mod out there of a large-scale UGV that fit the need, and I did not want to use the same UGV for both sides. So, I improvised.
Lastly, please keep in mind that the equipment, “actors”, uniform rank, etc., in my video may not be perfect. Though I try to get it right, sometimes there isn’t a mod or 3D model for what’s needed. Or, I might get something wrong. I’m a One Man Show here and I’m doing my best, so I ask for some grace. That said, if you see something that I might be able to address in future episodes, let me know. Constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome.

It's a cool concept! I have really enjoyed it. So I guess the unstoppable Russians updated their logistics? They do have a lot of power but have you seen how they transport muntions?? In old broken boxes and tin cans. The tin cans are the worse. You literally need an old fashion can opener to open one and it takes a long time to do this.
But the Russians wouldn't even need to go nuclear to win. Nope check out the Kessler Syndrome. It's a cheap and easy way for a less advance opponent to take away the US/NATO edge in a major conflict.

“Giant feature film”, buddy, they’re only 8 mins long minus the intro etc, so about 5 mins each. How do expect that to be “giant”?
This entire series brings back memories of binge watching the history channel back when it was good. You nailed the "documentary" feeling and made me pretty dang invested in the story.
And Arma 3 is honestly better than the "dramatic recreations" that the history channel used.
Really wondering how (or, if) the recent IRL performance of Russian forces and equipment in Syria and Ukraine will alter/blunt the Russia that's featured in this series. 🤔
Honestly it’s hard to see this alternate history even ten years down the road to be realistic. If the Russians government after anyone it’ll be annexing the central Asian republics back into Russia including Kazakhstan. Unless the Chinese sell the Russians a load of new materials, better tech, and weapons, the Russian armed forces would be like the Iraqi armed forces circa 1991 with the exception of possessing nukes. The Russians training is garbage and their equipment is either crap from corruption or overstated in their capabilities which the Russians have done since a t least the 1960s and continue to do so. The Chinese are afraid to lend the Russians any of their equipment for Ukraine as they know their equipment is overstated too. NATO would have this in the bag with a fraction of the casualties or effort spent in this hypothetical scenario
This whole series thus far has been a 10 out of 10! It reminds me of a modernized Red Storm Rising, and i await the next chapter with a great sense of anticipation. Keep it up!

@@dfmrcv862 this series isn't a novel, and it can't get into the sheer amount of detail of the printed word given the constraints. Just be happy that this exists and that one guy can put out something of this quality. Stop being a downer.
@@OptimusWombat Fam, showing its flaws in order to get it to improve isn't being a "downer". If that was my attitude, the stories I wrote never would've gotten the traction they did.
Also, "not being a novel" isn't an excuse. This is being narrated in the style of a documentary, literally making the *written* aspect just as important as the visual aspect.

Literally all you wrote was that it "needs a LOT of work before it can get to the level of RSR", but you didn't actually say what "work" was needed.

As an army veteran these videos are both awesome and terrifying to me. I spent my last couple years in an airborne brigade that was on NATO IRF (Immediate Response Force) for this exact situation.

I spent a year stationed in Europe, a bit before the invasion of Ukraine, and while the Russian military certainly isn't as strong and capable as we in the profession originally estimated, it's important to remember that there are no guarantees in such matters, and underestimating your enemy is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. There's nothing that says the Russians can't restructure and rebuild, and be ready 5 or 10 or 20 years down the road, this time with a more modernized, technically and tactically competent force that seizes the initiative and puts NATO on the backfoot. I appreciate that level of realism within this series, recognizing the capabilities and limitations of both forces, and accounting for the very real problems of intelligence, logistics and communications issues that can paralyze a military, often quicker than an enemy can. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next video!

Great stuff, very imaginative and engaging. I can't help think however, that the NATO forces are being under represented, far better kit, professional soldiers, and tactics, would make much quicker work of Russia's paper tiger.

Fantastic work! You put everything together so well and the narration is superb!
ehhhh... This series has improved a fair bit, with the drone warfare aspect appearing at least somewhat practical, but there are still issues here and there. You mention the air is contested, but it's kind of unclear how, especially when it seems Russian air defense has been taken out in the last episode when NATO gained air superiority. At the same time, neither side seems to really be progressing. You have US forces landing, making a Korean War reference, and then just kinda... holding the line? Like not much thought has been put into what these landings are meant to accomplish.
Really, the overall strategy here feels off. If the goal is to drive the Russians out, then why are they focusing on landings instead of using the fact there are land borders they can use to cut off the Russian attack? Poland has a direct land border with Lithuania, so... why hasn't it used that?
Really, this all harkens back to the fact Russia is managing all this with NATO supposedly prepared. That "dessert drizzle" comment tells me they were NOT prepared for invasion despite what episode 1 states, but then at the same time they have the supplies for landings and parachute operations while moving a bunch of troops from across the EU? And now they're *struggling to supply the front???* What, are the troops in Poland just not doing anything? The troops in Finland? Now Sweden's in NATO, so... where are they?
Not sure if "contrived" is the word just yet, but the information presented as it is presented does not add up when you think about it.

With the Baltic sea now almost encircled by NATO, it would be easy to establish forward supply points in relatively safe places, especially on islands. Islands like Gotland would be vital staging points in the way Malta was in WW2.

These videos are fantastic. As the war scenarios heighten it gets very scarey. The idea of unmanned Ai vehicles taking out other vehicles then moving on to hunt for more targets is like a scene from Terminator. Huzzah!! And thank you... 😮😊
This is a remarkably detailed narrative and engrossing story. Hopefully, it does not become a retrospective documentary...
It's a good story, but the current Russian military performance has hardly been overwhelming.
This is superb work, I am really enjoying this story, and looking forwards to following more episodes. I have shared this with my DCS group, so hopefully you will get a few subs from that.
This episode puts on display again the lethal brutality of war. Lots of people are shown to die in these military maneuvers. Fires and wrecks now scar once pacific villages and towns. What a horror.
As for the plot, we have to hope that the Americans quickly arrive with the bulk of their forces. The NATO troops present so far are providing a very strong resistance, thanks to their advanced tech as well, but it seems that sheer numbers are still in favour of Russia.
Also, wouldn't this be a good moment for the Polish army to make their move?
It’s a little bit deja vu watching this Russian invasion of the Baltic States whilst simultaneously watching video clips from Ukraine. I hope Putin isn’t going to use this as his road map for his next military adventurism.

I’ve read Red Storm Rising five or six times. This series is very similar in concept, except, thus far, there hasn’t been any naval warfare.

While Russia may have the initial leg up in any of these scenarios, they know deep down that eventually their asses will get kicked back to Russia and then some. That’s why it has not happened.

Reminds me of “Red Storm Rising”. Would be cool to see this as a full book someday.
Still waiting for the series to get to the Pacific theatre. Episode 1 envisioned a simultaneous attack where Russia invaded the Baltics and China invaded Taiwan.
