@@BlueDino07 Unfortunately nowadays developers and builders look only to t he cheapest, simplest, easiest resources to build with so if they even attepted this beautiful style, they could not pull it off due to their resources and also modern planning
i think the reason for there being the underground area in Seattle is because they where constructing the sewer system, meaning they either ripped up streets and building alike, or lifted up whole office blocks to build the sewers.
I love how in this world, there is no filler buildings they add just to fill in space. Every single building no matter how small is given 100% effort and detail, and oh boy does it look amazing!
I assume the San Alexandro Ferry Building is based off the real one in San Francisco? I’ve been there a few times myself and it’s such a cool building. I love how it looks on the server!
Yes it is based off of the one in San Fran! Yes it really is a cool building, and I'm glad its recognizable! Thanks for the compliments I love reading ones like this!

Wow, I'm belgian and used to go to school in oostend. I immediately recognized he road where the grass is in the middle with those stone "benches" or whatever those are. I had to walk that road from school to the swimming pool and to the trams to go home lol. Really cool
Seattle was actually burnt down in a huge fire years ago years ago. I think when it was rebuilt there was like an underground portion of the city because the buildings were just continuously built over one another. They had issues funding sidewalks during the process of heightening the roads due to high tide flooding so most buildings could have like 3 or 4 front doors on different floors with multiple basements. The sidewalks were like 10 to 20 ft below the actual roads. Unfortunately there were accidents and sometimes things would fall from the roads to the lowered sidewalks onto people. Eventually the sidewalks were filled in but technically there’s a lost city under Seattle that used to be inhabited by shops and storage and more
Neat little airship tho i was expecting something like the R-101 and R-100 airships. Well I guess those are a bit too modern since they were made in the late 1920s.
Not sure if Airships work that way. I'm pretty sure thst you mean barage balloons that where suspended over London in WW2 . The Metalwires who attached them to the ground where supposed to damage the german Heinkel Bombers.
They raised the buildings in Seattle because of the high tide wreaking havoc on the plumbing. So, they turned the third floor of the existing buildings into the first floor.
@@WBCBuilds Shoddy WiFi so I wrote the comment while I was waiting for it to load back. Looks phenomenal! Also, who wud I talk to on discord to get a build looked at? I tried to post it in the share your builds bit but couldn’t for some reason I don’t know.
Wow I love San Alexandro, reminds me of Chicago or New York in the early 1900s. Im currenty building my own New York/Chicago styled city that is in the 40s era
I've been following your channel for some time now. After many years, I finally bought Minecraft and now I'm playing on my own device. However I'm also a bit frustrated that I can never build anything good close to yours because the debug stick is not available in Minecraft PC.
Is it possible to go on the server just to visit stuff in spectator mode? Or is it only for builders? Id love to just walk the streets and get inspiration, everything on there is perfect
I absolutely love the level of detail, but also the scale all combined to tell amazing stories, this is really really nice I absolutely love it! I especially love the city of Ostend with all those wires for trams hanging above the street and the beautiful rustication, it really does feel very authentic. Though I cannot help but notice how little anything that is not european western european is on the server, that one slavic city so to say does not really feature anything that wouldn't be found in the rest of europe. The builds are inredible but to me there is just a slight lack of variety, and considering how important the east was for late 19th and early 20th century Britain and other european powers it seems almost weird not to include anything that is for example a city based on Baghdad, Delhi or even a city based on Istanbul which could be a cultural melting pot, an interesting prospect to explore in a very detailed build. The scope of the server feels limited, which is not bad, but there could be some much more variety considering the importance of colonies to the coloniser states at that time. And as I am a huge enthusiast of middle eastern, east asian and african vernicular architecture I am also a huge advocate for diversity and not hyperfocusing on the thing we know from our backyard.
We just don’t have the space nor the builders who want to build in this said styles. If people apply with the intention of wanting to do more eastern styles then sure we can see about expanding the Minecraft world to include this. I must rebut the idea that “building only what you know from your backyard” is a bad thing, hell this is just a passion project, why shouldn’t we build what we see around us and feel inspired to build
I wasn't necessarily trying to make it sound that way, sorry if it came off more that way, I was more about how it could be interesting to explore that idea in such a setting and see the dynamic it brings with it, more so about the inclusion being good rather than the lack of being bad. Edit: Since of course I understand how inspiration works. I've built countless little Vienna/Kraków inspired cities in my time playing minecraft since that is what I know from my surroundings so yeah it was just an issue on wording on my part.
I love the early 1900s building style of this server.

in the thumbnail, the building at the end reminded me of flinders street station for some reason haha
