Make sure you let the guys at Tru-Tone know the issues you are having with the S14.

What is the deal with blue bulbs? The incandescent blue bulbs were always the first to blow out or fade. Was hoping Tru-Tone were better. Looks promising.

That's a shame about the S14s. I don't know how Tru Tone's warranty works this far out after a year but hopefully they'll replace them.
I do have a question, have you tried testing some of the non-working bulbs in a different light socket? I ask because your bulb stringer looks very much like ones that I used to have a few years back. The internal wiring in some of the sockets (where the wire of the socket goes up to connect to the main cable) failed after a year being outside. When the bulbs stopped working I initially thought they were burned out until I put in new ones that didn't work either.

I will try them in different sockets. I haven’t taken them out. But that is a good thing to check. Thanks for the recommendation.

You definitely should keep all the corroded bulbs in separate boxes marked "Corrosion" so you can put them all in one location next year. This way when you take them down next year you won't be wondering, "Were these corroded last year?"

Great idea. Only the blue and white ones from last year were mixed. None of the ones on the house that I knew were new, ended up corroding . So I was excited I had a lot less corrosion verse last year. Also, then I can try to clean those ones up. They still look amazing this year.

For the price of TT bulbs, the should come with Nickle coated bases like most other bulbs do .

@@user-yn1ko1ch3b I’ve seen that a few times. Would it help?

@jaystus nickle coated eliminates most corrosion but still should use socket Orings when sockets are facing straight up .

@user-yn1ko1ch3b thanks, the orings definitely were helpful.

On the other hand, I am using some C7 CandleGlows and JewelTones as 24/7 nightlights in various locations inside the home since before Thanksgiving, and no problems with any of those yet. Estimating maybe 1,800 hours on those already? 😎👍 I hope they figure out the S14's because I've been considering some, and I planned to have them on all night.

@@youdontknowme5969 yeah, the candle glows are nice. I have had some indoors that are great. Maybe shorter LED strands help? I don’t know. My newer bulbs (from November) have not had issues.
