Usually this kinda stuff doesn't work for me.. BUT IT ACTUALLY WORKED. I'm so impressed and greatful for this software. 🙌 my website design is so beautiful
when I turn off the ambient light, the sphere does not go totally dark on one side, like in the tutorial. Tried to position the light source differently, but doesn't matter. Turning off ambient light just made it slightly more dim
I'm having the same issue. They changed how ambient lighting works in the app since this tutorial, so just turning it off doesn't totally remove it. You have to turn it on and then put a negative number in the intensity settings under "Light" in the right sidebar. What number you put in the settings feels arbitrary, though. I usually use -1. It depends on how dark you want the shadow areas to be. It would be better if turning it off just actually, you know, turned it off. The other way is to make sure that the top lighting layer on your planet is set to 100%. By default it's at 60. If you do that, then turn ambient light off. The method you use depends on how many objects you have and what you want affected by ambient light.
@@harveytherobot Actually everything works the same. There is no need to use negative numbers. Just by using 100% of opacity in the lighting layer is enough.
@@splinetool Got it. The default material lighting is set to 60 by default now, though. At least on mine. I think that was what was throwing us off. In this video the default is 100.
Uhh, very nice! One question, if you don´t mind: I´m new to Spline so ... is it possible in Spline to also add interactive elements - like in this project e.g. pins at different locations on the Earth which can be clicked and then show additional information about this specific location? Cheers & Greetings, Manuel
Oh yeah this is possible, you can make a big sphere, and add a stars map to it, then make the sphere visibility only to the back sides and disable shadows casting and receive. This way you will have a full 360 stars map in your bg.
@@splinetool No mater how big i make the sphere, i always see it from outside, in visibility I select only back, but still don't have this sphere as background but rather as object in front
Hello! Is there a way to make an event that makes the earth stop rotating when the mouse hover on it and then continue rotating once it's moved away from it?
Awesome tutorial, the only thing I'm not able to have working is animating the clouds. There might be a bug with the offset value. If I set the value to 0 in base state and then set the value to 1 in State, the value stays at 1 for both state.
@@gaganajai508 unfortunately no. I tried restarting, hard refresh, recreating the whole project. I have no idea what’s missing in order to make materials properties animate
Hey question, how do I create a link within the planet so when people interact with it and click on it it takes them to a different page on my website?
Superbe . Easy to follow step by step tutorial. I was wondering is it possible to import Substance painter texture in it ? Or even directly import mesh and texture from another medium ?

Glad it was useful to you Serene!
@@splinetool thnks for the Tut it makes sense new sub, more over I wanna know if it's a stand alone software or if it can be used offline pls.
Happy earth day! Please keep the tutorials coming!
Will do! 🌎❤
Oh my lord... I heard about spline a while ago and for whatever reason I never really looked into it... I love this. *So stoked.*
Spline is Awesome, thank you!
THANK YOU! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED ❤
How do I increase the resolution of the globe image? I want to be able to have people zoom in for greater detail.
Keep doing great things and inspire others, I can Learn many things from your content :) Thank You Spline
Hell yeah.

Hi! Make sure the order of your material layers (and their blending modes) is correct.

I am also wondering about this! would be super useful
One thing to know spline, but another to have skills, but this guy posses all
well, he's the founder of the company, so...
Thank you. So cool!

Change cloud Wrapping to repeat or mirror, will fix problem instantly!

how do you lock the 3d object in play area. I am trying to use the scroll feature but it seems impossible

The spline interface is a bit different now. And because of that I cannot find some functions.
Awesome but there is some updates and i cant follow the tutorial, im new in Spline
How can we create smoke? Can you make a tutorial video about it?
Is it feasible to add night-map for dark areas only, showing lights? I imagine Direct light would have to be somehow linked as a mask?
Yes! This is possible by using a Toon layer as a mask. The toon layer needs to be in Light mode.
@@splinetool I can't find how to make Toon a mask, any help is appreciated

Hey there, actually it works just fine. Perhaps you are missing a value?
Is the Spline App down guys? Cannot connect to it.
Oh man. Do you have any experience working on the web? I'm curious how well this would export and run in a browser...
Hi Kai! Spline itself is a web app. You can check the final outcome of this scene (we added a link in the video description).
Hey, could you post the NASA website where we can find the images?
Hi David! We just added the links in the description. Hope that helps.
Hey question, how do I create a link within the planet so when people interact with it and click on it it takes them to a different page on my website?
I don't think it's possible that interaction and click can work at the same time 🤔🤔
😮
Where do you find these images from?
Pls link to install spline thnks.

Hi! Yes! You can import objects! And you can also manually import their textures and assign them on material layers yes.
@@splinetool Thanks for the fast response , do you know which 3d format is better suit for performance ?
Sorry but my interface slightly different, can't set the animation. I don't have settings of trigger
steps are not visible, I'm worry about it.
please slow it down bruh, u are too fast
just pause it from time to time
