Hey there, love the vids! Certified Brunswick A2 technician here- In my experiences, pins bounce considerably more in A's versus A2's. The Pit cushion and curtain assembly are both mounted facing slightly downward in an A2 in order to pass some of the energy into the fiberglass pit boards, which also makes it a near guarantee that the pins also ricochet downward into the dampening carpet. Brunswick Model A pinsetters have a pit cushion (also known as a 'hockey stick") that's mounted vertically along with the pin curtain. It was designed this way on the Model A's due to the pit boards being made of wood, they couldn't handle the momentum transfer without being damaged, so it was intentionally designed more vertical to NOT absorb all of that energy. If there is ever a pin bouncing on one side of the machine in the back corner, shoot at that side. Brent's strategy was spot on there
dont forget neuer have a 4 way competition see who can make the most but i have an idea for a place come 2 wisconsin go to ashwaubenon lanes near green bay theres 60 lanes 4 way competition to see who can make the most just 1 condition though if u actually do it i wanna be allowed 2 be there 2 see it
12:56 Sean Rash made the 7-10 that way. he hit the 10 pin so lightly that is slid across the deck and fell off far enough for the pin to rotate and the head of the 10 pin hit the 7 pin and it fell over. Only time I've seen the 7-10 made with ball and pin alone.
The pit cushions are different on an 'A' and an "A2'. The 'A' cushion sits more straight up verses the angled cushion of the 'A2'. The pin curtain on an 'A2' has more of a bow in it verses the Model 'A'.
A2 cushions bounce pins out a MILLION times better than A's. As a mechanic I prefer A style, helps wear on the carpets (as well as just simpler overall) with the angle and the way the ball hits but as a bowler, for pinaction? A2 style ALL day. Once I saw you were at Seneca and not Northrock I knew itd be a MUCH tougher make!
At the house I bowl at on many lanes the curtain in the back is missing revealing the horizontal bar. If a pin hits that bar it shoots like crazy in any random direction! I have seen splits made and pins flying all the way to the foul line. I made an 8-10 by the 10 hitting that bar and flying into the 8.
I just sat here and watched a video of complete failure - and loved every second of it. You guys were having fun - while also doing some really fine shotmaking.
I've converted it twice. Once in 1995 when I was 14 years old with a house ball. 2nd time was around 2007 during warm ups before league. Not easy but I'm liking the more extreme angle attempts by Brent. I might try that. Thanks for the video.
I made my first 7-10 back when I was in a parent child bowling league(I was like 15). I just got my first custom ball with a weight block and wanted to learn. I was so hyped when my dad told me thats one of if not the hardest shot in bowling. I love bowling to this day.
i saw brent at seneca looking up to my hero who got me into bowling he was so nice his smile was everything he also gave me a few tips about 2 handing hopefully one day i can we in a video with him and packy 2 handing challenge ( pls pls pls respond)
Brunswick A Pit cushions have a mechanical time delay to drop the rake/cushion as opposed to A2 & Jetbacks which have shotguns allowing the rake/cushion to drop immediately. Machines equipped with a shotgun do tend to allow pins to fly around more. As far as making the 7-10, rev your plastic with lots of speed so the pin spins as it enters the pit. Spinning pins bounce out of A’s A2’s easily.
I think it really depends on how the house adjusts the curtain and also the surface of the shakerboard underneath. I work in a house with 50 lanes that expanded 3 different times so it plays like 4 different houses.
Looks like the machines have the cable trigger rake drop which isn't too common! The Model A has always been my favorite pinsetter. Not too slow yet not too quick to were it would wear down parts and is extremely efficient when well maintained. I hope this place keeps those pinsetters running for more decades to come!
I still say the answer I thought worked for me - was to hit the ten-pin straight on, just slightly right-center, to bounce it off the apron in the back, returning to the ball, deflecting back to apron again, but with angle to veer left towards 7-pin. Thot it worked for 8 - 10 once too~~! {Right center of ten pin}
Both have moving curtains but the A1 looks harder to convert than the GS/GS-X series! (there are a few videos of successful conversions with the latter) When it does bounce out it often flings the 10 pin in front of the 7.
i saw brent at seneca looking up to my hero who got me into bowling he was so nice his smile was everything he also gave me a few tips about 2 handing hopefully one day i can we in a video with him and packy 2 handing challenge ( pls pls pls respond) day 2
As an A and A2 mechanic it’s kind of a toss up. I personally notice more bounce outs on A2s verse A machines depending on the bowling alley. A2 it honestly depends on how much lag is in your curtain or how snug they are, it also depends on if the bowling center has the trip arms (quick drop rakes) to prevent dead wood. The biggest difference in the pit cushion assembly between an A and an A2 is that the A pit cushions move up and down and cannot have the rake trip as soon as the ball hits the cushion where as in A2 conversions the pit cushion actually pivots in rollers and spacers. I don’t know if there is a true theory behind it as to which allows pins to bounce out more but I personally see more pins on As converted to A2s or A2s in general.
Bowling is weird. Thoughts precede actions and when you've thought about what you just did, it doesn't matter anymore. It is like everyone needs a tranquilizer to not predict the outcome too soon before the action. Crazy. But oh no, the predictions come anyway. The results are a given. For me, in a league after a long day of work, I really question whether it is a relaxing activity or just another stress on my mental rubber band. I like bowling but sometimes hate when it is forced upon me(league play when I just plain don't feel like competing). :P
If mitch has 1,000 fans, I am one of them. If Mitch has 100 fans, I am one of them. If Mitch has 10 fans, I am one of them. If Mitch has but one fan, that person is me. If Mitch has 0 fans, I have passed away.

MITCH!!!! Not only do I love seeing this specific video (Mitch shoots at hard spares) but seeing him compete against someone is AMAZING!
Mitch is going to have a 100% ten pin conversion rate on tour next year
Haha hes already close to it!
I don’t think he had a Whig when he shot the 7-10 48 times… got 1 on 41 tries
7:30 not me actually screaming “COME ONNNN” at my phone screen 😂
The laws of physics state that your odds of making a spare are greatly increased by making contact with a pin.
I thought they would decrease, ngl
😂😂😂😂
We need Kevin Mccune
Yes we do!!!!!!!
Absolutely!
McCune would throw it at 30mph and the rumble would knock 'em down.
NEEEED!!

Brent vids are the best vids. Add in Mitch and we have Internet gold.
Brent is such a touchy, Feely guy 😂 Love it! Mitch was so hesitant on the cheek kiss 😂
Damnnnn, love seeing Mitch bowl 🔥🔥🔥
"Livin rent free and pin free" I love it!
Now we need the Greek Church and B4 videos here 😂
not a want but a need!!

I really loved this one. Brent’s always a gem, and seeing the grind to try and make it happen was really gripping.
It’s always great to see Mitch.
I worked a sweat just watching you guys shooting so many balls in short period of time! MANY close calls. Surprised none were made.
I bet if Mitch had his sparkle TZone he wouldn’t have missed

Love mitch and Brent together lol good stuff
Great to see Mitch back. When you did the 7-10 challenge at Northrock Mitch made the first one on Lane 6.
Great memory!
@@TheHouseBowling I've watched the challenge videos with Mitch multiple times. Saw that particular one again last week. 😜
Love the split challenges, this should be a monthly at least series.
Awesome to see Mitch back again, can’t believe they both missed them all with some of the pins thrown
Good effort..

i love these videos😍
i feel if the oil pattern is heavier and longer the chances of ball speed increases and being able to maybe make the 7 10. Just a thought guys.

I want to see this challenge again with all the pins sitting in the deck in the back
Great video I was locked in 😊
Cool video talk tech bowling packy
That was great fun 😂
great video and yes i would love to see Kevin McCune be on your challenge's/skill videos
I have to say Brent's hits were more impressive.
This is insane i wish i had the speed for pinaction like that
i saw brent at seneca looking up to my hero who got me into bowling he was so nice his smile was everything he also gave me a few tips about 2 handing hopefully one day i can we in a video with him and packy 2 handing challenge ( pls pls pls respond) day 2
Good luck Mitch
That was awesome!
That was fun!
Is there any difference by using a plastic ball or a strike ball to hit it?
you need to get Osku out there.
It’s the ball change you have to use the t zone Mitch
More Mitch, he makes me laugh.
It might be easier if the curtain was inverted
Where is this bowling alley at? Wichita KS?
The A-2’s have significantly more bounce than the regular A’s. The curtain makes a big difference in this one here👍

This is great timing I picked one up yesterday in a tournament it was the third one I picked up in my career
Whaaat!! That’s crazy that you’ve picked up 3 congrats!
Clearly the magic was in that sparkle T Zone you used to have 😂
Just as many of us thought... it has less to do with skill and more to do with the design of the curtain in the back.
Pure entertainment!
never thought I would be so entertained watching so many misses in one video😂
I dislocated my shoulder watching this.
I thought when you started changing the angle of attack you'd get the 💡 to hook it into the pins. Get a really angular ball and re-do the challenge.
You should have the curtain be inverted on a pair. You’d definitely make it for sure.
Feel like Mitch's shot at 11:56 should've been on the Close Call count
None got made because there was no purple sparkly spare ball
seems like AI hasn’t figured out pins yet in the thumbnail lol
man i wish i could try this challenge out
So much harder to make on As. A2s biunce so much more.
better wear projectile gear if you get Kevin Mccune on!
Some years ago nobody would even consider trying to pick it up, crazy
I have three, one in sanctioned comp😊
That one guy misses the pins all the time at least the other guy can hit the pins
The pop when that dude those’d the ball is funny
I will be using this strategy in league😂

Can we set up a Kevin McCune vs Chris Barnes 7-10 contest at North Rock or Seneca PLEASE!
Anyone else beside me say “Field Goal!” when it goes between the pins?
just a little left dead center. double kiss 10-pin with ball
That is how I have made it 4 times (I’m right handed).
String pins probability of success increases
“We’ve cracked the code”
Goes on to miss the entire house worths, again.
I'd say pins bounce out a lot more on gs machines
Need a 7-10 challenge vs Anthony Neuer.
I always thought they bounced out better opposite of the ball return because the channel is shallower.
Inside quadrant.
You need to use the three step method, it works every time…
1. Throw the ball hard
2. Hit one pin
3. Get F…ing lucky
Obviously Brent’s pits aren’t juiced.
If mitch has 1,000 fans, I am one of them.
If Mitch has 100 fans, I am one of them.
If Mitch has 10 fans, I am one of them.
If Mitch has but one fan, that person is me.
If Mitch has 0 fans, I have passed away.
I bowled in a house that has them 4 yrs ago n it was 10 pin city with every ball i owned
Pinnacle pins suck
in my language Monday night no tap if we were to Leave that we get free beer or jello shot 😂 I get that on Purpose
GET KEVIN MCCUNE
If i could bowl doubles with anyone it would probably be Brent, win or lose I'm sure it would be fun
I average about 17.5 MPH (I'm 50) but my arm would be falling off if I tried any of that!
hi
Mitch vs Wichita Toe! Can we even convert a 7-10 on strings.. we will see. 👍
I guess not... maybe Greek Churches
For a second I thought mitch was george kittle 😅
I've never got close to a 7-10 why? I can't pick up a spare. But I did almost got the big four 3 times
less rev make the pin bounce more !
Dang a lot of close attempts, never made it myself lots of tries though
How Brent didn’t take down 4-5 of those, I’ll never know…
Well, let’s get osku palerma in this challenge, I’m sure 30mph at a steep angle of attack *might* work😂
Where is Packy
It looks like you seriously found a great way to make the 7-10. It's never gonna be consistent, but that looks like the best way to do it.
