I hate that story being told early in the video. In the United States, Ph.D. students are only compensated for 20 hours a week. 10am. to 4 p.m., 30 hours a week is already considered overtime. Why can only a student who works from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 112 hours a week be considered a good one? This is labor exploitation. Sadly, the academic system does not care about this.
