  • Thanks for tuning in yall! We head 550 total miles north of Fairbanks Alaska and truck the Dalton Highway also known as the “haul road” or kamikaze trail. The majority of it is dirt, full of potholes and washboard with 10% grades and long mountain passes. Hope you enjoy!

    As many pipe loads as I send North, I've never once went up with one. Respect for you guys that do this everyday.

    That went by quick, Bud! I could just feel the push of the load going down those grades. Love the old Jake doing it's thing. Owned and steered a couple of 359's. got out of driving in '91 but still would love to make a trip again. Good thing you are always checking equipment. the North is rough on equipment. Love your channel!

      Oh yeah 359s are so sweet. A little shy on creature comforts tho haha and yeah it’s extremely hard on the equipment

    Pure respect, pure fascination. What about bears?
    I agree, keep it long. These are epic rides compared to the lower 48. No comparison whatsoever.

      I’ve seen a couple bears here and there but not usually a huge issue

    Those guys that pushed through didn't have the breakfast you had. So that was an advantage of stopping besides more than 3 or 4 hours sleep and being rested for the drive back.

    Hey bud, firstly awesome video 📹 👏 👍 👌 😎 tons of information, and spectacular scenery en route, wow its beautiful, I can remember some years ago watching the series Ice Road Truckers, it used to take it's toll on the equipment, mostly the vibration on the ice, during your video 📹 when your not on tarmac, your truck 🚚🚚was vibrating I guess it's the grit on the roads, but a great watch, awesome job 👍💪

    • @TheAlaskaTrucker
      @TheAlaskaTrucker  Місяць тому

      Yeah lots of potholes and frost heaves and washboard. There’s a lot of road and not enough men to maintain it like it could be so it just ends up being fairly rough most of the time

    How much does the freight pays up there ?!

    • @TheAlaskaTrucker
      @TheAlaskaTrucker  20 днів тому

      Depends on the freight. Some stuff pays crap most of it pays substantially more then lower 48 due to the extra cost of operation up here. Typically no one runs less than 3 dollars a mile round trip

    • @marqueschoeb625
      @marqueschoeb625 20 днів тому

      @@TheAlaskaTrucker thanks for the heads up. Feels like it should pay way more than 3 $ round trip.. good luck out there
