just a tip that i learned from a welding course I did, when you are making your frame just focus on doing tackwelds first before you lay in a full weld as the heat will distort your frame and make it hard to keep square. Small tacks will reduce the heat distortion. Try and do your tacks at opposite sides on your frame to where you did your last one to help balance the heat distortion out and do the inside corner welds last as this will pull the metal in the most. Looks great by the way!
Hi Ruth, Thanks for watching and thankyou for the tip. I have found a bit of distortion so I think that will help me greatly. Part 2 should be coming out soon as I have been progressing. thanks again and keep the tips coming.
@@bikesandbits1000 I’m based in Adelaide and am really interested in getting this welder too so look forward to hearing how you find it. Maybe check out some videos on here about ‘weld sequencing’ which show you how to do your tacks and welds to keep your frame straight- it’s crazy how much metal moves when it is heated! Some people will even just tack their pieces along their length direct onto their work table to begin with first to stop them from moving , then tack the joints and then finally weld. Keep it all clamped down until the weld cools and then remove your clamps. Looking forward to seeing Part 2 👍
