Fastest I’ve been is 140’s on a 1986 FJ1200 and a 90’s CBR900. The FJ was always my favorite all around bike. Bike had loads of torque and was real comfortable.
I use to have a 2006 R6 brand new. A bike that never sold, so in 07 I got a good price on it. Bought it in Canton Georgia and drove it home to Columbia Tennessee (5hr drive) with my wife and small kids behind me (we were in Georgia for a 60th wedding anniversary). My wife was not happy following me home. We got home at 2:30am and still got up for church 5hrs later. I absolutely loved that bike. The bike 4yrs later got repoed. It was 100% my fault. It had 110hp and it was all I needed.

I prefer the old pocket rocket 60 horse power 400/4s to these crazy muthas. You get a better sensation of speed and more fun doing "just" 110mph. (Not to mention a reduced likelihood of getting killed.)
110mph reduced chance? Okay. Lets all act like that even makes sense. Yeah I got off my bike at 110mph and just had a a bit of a rough landing. No biggie. Any medical doctors around I think I may have torn both limbs off.
@@zonta71 if you come off at 110 or 170 the results gonna be the same. My point is that at 110 you're less likely to come off in the first place. Plus ( on the autobahn) you're not gonna sit there at 110 but do it briefly then back off to 80-90. On a Fazer thou you can cruise at 140.
Still own the R1 since 2004..which is late so really 2005..1 best bikes iv own on par was my Honda cr500..that r1 needs new alternter...I do ride hard hard but even my m8ts gsxr 100 had a crack in engine cover inside .so lot vehicle have teffeing problem..but my my still strong.

Thanks for the info given..the early GSX-R 1000 got issue with it's frame that was prone to cracking..and the early r-1 got insufficient headlamp brightness during night-riding.about the crankshaft "maybe" it is a tradeoff somewhat for crossplane firing sequnce for that humangous acceleration.i am open for correction/more info
damn, I'm sure glad I have my 2001 Busa still. They are Struggling to get to 13,000 rpm in 5th gear and they can't even hit 300 km/h? I get 260 at redline in 3rd, 300 in 4th, and been to 330 in 5th twice. plenty enough for me! (on GPS, not speedo) btw, R1 is the most uncomfortable bike at high speeds and for distance greater than 25km. Aside from the Hayabusa, Blackbird and ZX14 are distant seconds and thirds.
